These videos are meant to be educational and funny, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
    0:00 Intro.
0:05 From the looks of it the engine definitely ran for a bit but the customer said it apparently did not. If that was the case the engine oil and water wouldn't have mixed.
0:19 The spare wheel was remounted. The customer did not want a new tire as the other one had a gash in the sidewall.
0:33 The correct spark plug wire was installed and it fixed the misfire concern.
0:44 Wiring to the headlight was repaired and this extension cord wiring was removed.
0:55 Core plug also known as freeze plug.
1:07 The vehicle also had multiple oil leaks. Recalls were still performed for the customer.
    1:24 That was easy...
1:31 This happens way too often. The customer was notified of their mistake.
1:40 A common issue on GMC/Chevrolet pick-up trucks as they have a hubcap that was glued onto the wheel and overtime it would rust behind the hubcap. Surprised the customer managed to drive this in. The wheel was replaced.
1:47 The shop fixed the welds and installed all the nuts as one was missing.
1:57 Noisy door lock actuator that's about to stop working.
2:09 Customer paid for damages. The wiring harness was replaced and the power steering and every other issue that the customer had was fixed.
2:21 A reminder to read your owner's manual or look at your instrument cluster.
2:35 The pin that holds the air brake knob is missing.
2:42 Jewellery hanging from the rear view mirror caused the customer's concern.
    2:50 No extra info.
    2:57 Outro. Thanks for watching!

Going around and telling people "shop A fucked up my car" is a risky thing to do. Shop A may be vindictive and sue for you for going around and saying they did bad work. i used to be a mobile lawn mower mechanic for a company so we had this lady bought a brand new scag turf tiger 15,000 dollar top of the line mower. it had the kohler efi fuel injection engine. this was about 8'years ago when kohler was still
messing with the efi stuff so people were kinda skeptical
about it. anyways. she bought it and it ran flawless for the 1st few weeks then it got to were it was miss fireing and wouldnt hardly run. side note. i went to the kohler schooling on the New (at the time) efi systems.
so i went out and took a look brought the computers and all that. so i got there and the thing ran flawlessly i spent alot of time i mowed i moved it very roughly trying to get it to bog down or do something. and it didnt. i hooked my computer up thinking maybe something was wrong i watched the cat temps tps cam crank everything was in spec. nothing outta wack. so i said its under warranty everythings covered as you can see i cant seem to get it to do what you are describing etc... so i left. a 2 weeks go by. its acting up again shes calling furious. i again go out same senario. its flawless. but this time i took better notice of the fuel levels and started asking questions. thats when my brain started going ok lets dig in deeper. the lady said when it ran good it seemed to do very well on fuel and she had only put x amount (which didnt seem like enough) in it to mow all this nice yard/land she had. i asked when the last time she filled it up and she said it was less then 1/4 now and i filled it up this
mornings before you got here. and i distinctly recall saying why dont we start some tracking somethings here and i told her to log hours and when she fuels it up for a week or 2 then we can get in touch and change were you get your gas, at that point i was thinking ok she got some bad gas from were she normally went and things. so she did and then 2 weeks and she called again with here numbers and ive logged it and ive got photos and something isnt right. last time i got off it had x amount of hours and was at 1/2ish tank and im about to go mow again and now its full of gas and the same amount of hours... so i went out and pulled a fuel sample and let it sit in a clear jar and come to
find out one of here grand daughters who lived there or visited there often or whatever had been taking the garden hose and filling the gas tank up thinking she was helping grandma! Haha
Moral of my long story was to never assume anything. always. ALWAYS double triple check and ask the "dumb" questions. why? because they may lead you to the correct answer weather you like it or not.
and this people that dont get there stuff fixed. like on suspension or rolling components are idiots. and the ones who dont know the difference in plugs or cant figure out how to use a switxh for a trunk. shouldnt be allowed to drive period. thats also the same person brake checking a semi truck. natural selection.

These videos make me feel better when I have to do questionable things on my vehicles.
I have a 2000 Saturn and it's always had an issue with the power wire to the relay for the blower motor heating up and causing issues. If it wasn't looked after, the fuse block can begin to melt and warp the plastic, this causes the relay to lose contact with the fuse block and as it gets worse, eventually the relay just stops working. A lot of these early Saturn's had some kind of wiring issue like that.
I was able to pull the fuse block out, do some temporary fixing on it so I could at least use the blower, but I was never satisfied with it because I knew it would eventually fail. I finally went out and bypassed the fuse block altogether, I snipped the wires at the back of the fuse block, put on some wire crimps and ran the wires directly to the blower motor. No more bad connections, no more melted plastic, no more having to stop once in a while when my temp fix failed and I lose the blower. The crimps are surrounded with plastic ends so they don't short out against any metal and are super tight against the tabs of the relay (I actually pulled the wire out of one of the crimps because they were holding so securely).
What I found humorous is the relay wouldn't engage when I turned it on high, I couldn't figure it out. Wiring diagrams showed a ground, but there was no ground wire at the fuse block, I started wondering why they put a five-pin relay in a four-pin wiring setup. Turns out the fuse block itself is grounded to the car somehow inside and the fifth tab on the relay needed to be grounded. Totally blew my mind!
So, yeah, still kind of janky, but not nearly as bad as what I see in these vids...

My Saturn fuse block story is that my low beams stopped working. I spent three hours metering out the entire circuit to find that the fault was inside the plastic of the fuse block.
I lacked the tools to proceed further, but I gave my mechanic a write-up of the problem and my suggested solution which worked.
Cut out the low beams circuit and swap it to the DRL (daytime running lights) circuit. Which worked fantastically, and I had low beams and high beams on the column, just no more DRLs.

I love your show, I am in Australia, so some of these issues we rarely see and some are also very common here too, quite often I thank God I don’t live anywhere near these repair workshops! Do you guys not have any state compliance checks? We only have 5 states and 2 Territories here in Australia and it varies state to state, some states require yearly inspections and if it doesn’t pass they refuse registration unless repaired to their requirements (usually standard, unless engineering certification for modifications) however some states have little or no “official requirements” other than the vehicle be roadworthy! I live in a state where we are not forced to get our vehicles certified but if the police pull you over they can “defect” your car (declare it not roadworthy) there are a few levels to this though, 1. You get told something needs attention, they note it in their system and if you get pulled over again (usually with a few days to undertake repairs.(however this is descretionary and is rare but not unheard of) 2. You are defected and are only allowed to drive your car home or to and from a place of repair, and you take the car to local police station to have it inspected and “defect” removed/lifted. 3. Your car receives a major defect (which is also discretionary) and the car has to be inspected completely, suspension, brakes, emissions, noise levels, rust is not acceptable in any structural areas, most rust is(except surface) is not really tolerated, all safety equipment tyres and all areas of the car must be working and show no signs of wear and tear, So whilst they don’t require inspection if you do something to upset them or are obviously not roadworthy they can make it difficult for you, however if you keep good tyres all lights are functional and for the most part your ok! They do occasionally have times where they target particular issues! But for the most part if your car is reasonably tidy and maintained they leave you alone, but we have to pay registration either every 3 months or yearly and the costs vary depending on the type of vehicle ie:- 4,6,8 cyl diesel or petrol or hybrid, and sedan wagon Ute 4x4 or truck(varies on capacity) well Didn’t mean to write half a book but hope this helps to understand some of the systems we use here in Australia! ✌️☘️👍🙏😎

I think Canada has normal safety inspections, but in the US it is up to each state. Some states require rigorous inspections, some check only a few things (California tests emissions and engine lights) and many US states have no inspection at all.
In these comments, you'll see some people rant against government activity of any sort. Sadly, many people here really are like that. They fear safety standards more than motor vehicle deaths.

    a couple of core plugs and a tube of gasket sealant 1.65 + 1.65 + 3.99 = £7.29
a tin of expanding sprayfoam filler = £6.25
    total saving = £1.04
a new engine install, parts and labour = priceless

@@mhfuzzball oddly enough my local pound store has bought in tins of teak deck varnish recently, presumably for that boater on a budget. i'd probably draw the line there though. a tube of marine sealant for a pound has got to be up there with the 10 dollar parachute or $100 eye surgery as far as risky bargains go. 😄👍

I'm 69. When I was 14 in 1969 and bored to death I bought some tools and me and my friends started working on cars. No Internet then only thing exciting was hot rods and NHRA. Kids no longer have that experience. Now entire generations never held a socket wrench or an adjustable wrench or even a wire cutter. Now cars now are so complex you can't work on them anyway. So you can see the only thing they can come up with is fill it up with spray foam lol. But being handy with tools as a youngster which can also lead into electronics leads to all kinds of employment opportunity's later in life. Dumbbell kids don't have that now. Which is why we see all this insane shit on cars with kids never opening a hood in there life and trying to fix a simple problem.

That's just because you can't keep up mentally. I didn't like what my car was doing. So I launched the app in my phone and adjusted it.
Nevermind that your generation drove like a bunch of donuts, and we've the accident statistics to prove it. But you just convenient forget that.

Once a collegue of mine had the 'urge' to fill up his coolant fluid. He had absolutely no reason for that but wanted to make sure he did it right. After he pointed at the brake fluid reservoir and the windshield washer reservoir I opened the coolant reservoir, which didn't need a top up.
But I still learned something that day: his Ford Ka II was designed and built by FIAT.

I once had a work car (a rather nice Toyota Cressida) that my predecessor used to top up the radiator with water. I noticed the first time I checked oil and water - back in the 80s it was still normal procedure. The alloy casting over the thermostat had broken and he'd 'fixed' it with silicone sealant. I got the coolant and the casting replaced at the next service but it wasn't long before the engine went. The water had corroded away the metal between the water jacket and one cylinder. One very dead engine, all because my predecessor thought he'd save some money for our employer.

@@dmitripogosian5084 I've also heard of it referred to as mayonnaise. If the engine hadn't been run, the oil and water would still have been separated. You need something like a crankshaft or a blender to combine the two liquids into an emulsion which is how we know that the engine was run... 😁
