When I was a kid, Wednesday was " junk " day. Being working class, not every kid had a bike. . . until junk day. We would go around and collect all the broken down bicycles ans strip them for parts ans build bikes for our friends who didn't have one. BTW Here's Steve Smith on the Smith and Smith show from 1980 where he first started to develop the Red Green character. ua-cam.com/video/JJ9yydrnBWI/v-deo.htmlsi=kNOWzHgkHx_hi4oW|
I Love the Red Green Show. It's was just so fun to watch. I miss shows like this. I always loved the 'Handyman Corner' skits because of how ridiculously creative they were. Other skits like 'Adventures with Bill' where 'Bill' would, as the name suggest, go on little adventure. & my personal favorite, 'The Possum Lodge Word Game', where a member of Possum, usually Red, has to get another Possum Lodge member to guess a word without saying that world. So funny. I hope you decide to watch full episodes someday. There are 300 episodes, so we can recommend/suggest some.
One of my favourites is the time Red made food warmers for the dining room table out of old electric blankets that weren’t needed anymore because his wife Bernice had gone through the change and replaced them with a forty horsepower ceiling fan.
We live outside of Houston, Texas and I'm fortunate enough to have a Red Green channel in our area! It's on 24/7 and I usually watch it everyday till my wife goes crazy! LOL! No matter how many times I've seen all of these episodes I still laugh like I've seen here for the first time! This show is insanely crazy and good!
'Red and Harold Green' have been inducted into the "Sons of the Desert" fraternal organization of comedy fans. They started out as a fan club of Laurel and Hardy but has since honored Abbot and Costello, and Martin and Lewis. It is considered an honor to receive the recognition as very few comedy teams are inducted into their hall of fame
I miss the days back in the 90s, when I was a teen, and we would all gather in the living room to watch the red green show, back when antenna tv was still a thing lol I will always love and appreciate this show.
I met Mr Smith at CHCH television studio in Hamilton Ontario, he was a really nice guy, very down to earth, i think it may have even been before the Red Green Show, i think he had different show before that called Smith and Smith.
Here in Hamilton (Steve’s adopted hometown) we used to have all pick-up trash days but they ended a number of years ago. If you had large items to dispose of you needed to contact the City and book a day for pick-up. I’m not sure if that program is still in use. We have a couple of waste “transfer stations” where you can dispose of trash for a fee (by weight). Certain things can be disposed of for free such as metals, wood, some plastics, yard waste and white goods (appliances). You can also take household hazardous materials for free disposal such as batteries, cleaners, paints, solvents, fluorescent bulbs and expired propane cylinders.
In the Laurentians, my municipality does a bulky pick up every 2 months, but the dump (really well organized) is 6k from my house. So convenient. Keep watching RedGreen bc it gets stupid crazier.
Thank you, Been to about a dozen of these when they recorded them :) FYI Many k cars are used WAY more often and are the but of many jokes on the show.
I live in Toronto Ontario and yes we have to pay per kg. for taking garbage to a refuse centre. And there are only certain days and times of the month for each region. Meaning you can’t drive up at midnight and do a dump at the gates.
Tash, it's never a bad idea to dive into some Red Green.. So many different aspects to the show that are complete laugh riot to watch. But his wit is so dry and subtle that if you laugh too hard, you miss the next joke. It's almost a Catch-22. Enjoy your trip down the Red Green rabbit hole. From the Handyman's corner, to Possum Lodge meetings and games, to Adventures with Bill and his 90-second "We're all in this together" sermons. Try checking out some full episodes and meet the other crazy supporting characters. And since Steve Smith is the principal writer for the show, it makes him not only a funny performer, but a comedic genius. He may be ours, but we are very happy to share. Laughter is the best medicine.
We pay for large item pickups. Twice a year we have what is called free weekend, you put things out on the curb and people drive around and take what ever they would find useful. I'll often put a separate pile of scrap metal and the metal collectors take it. I hope some of your clips include the word games he has with his friends who visit, I believe John Candy did one.
the Red Green character started in the Smith and Smith variety show. One of my favourite characters is Edgar "K.B." Montrose (Graham Greene) handyman corner if it moves and it shouldn't use duck tape, if doesn't move and it should use WD40 and of his inventions that all seem to work. In Ottawa large items furniture TVs etc are picked up the curb on garbage day, the hazardous waste 2024 calendar will show dates, times, locations around the city. Blue box takes paints, most aerosol cans.
With the price of duct tape these days you’d be better off.....hopping the fence and stealing your neighbors BBQ. We have the same BBQ, I wonder if he’d notice that half the burners don’t work anymore 😂 ?.
@@aussietashreacts we get a few Australian TV shows. Outback opal hunters and I forgot the name, but it's a gold prospecting show. Like the Gold show, Gold Rush . Filmed in northern BC
Taking garbage to the dump is not free. You pay by the weight of the load. They weigh your vehicle going in, then again when you go out! We stock up our garbage in winter because it’s frozen and not decomposed , it costs about 40$ for the right to dump it when it starts to warm up in spring.
Unless it's roadside pickup To clarify, still has to be in a bin. I now saw you said specifically dump it on the side of the road, and yeah yhats illegal. Littering, think of the wilife.
we pay for up to 3 different bins through our rates. A red bin-general, green bin-lawn, yellow bin-recycle But if you go to the dump you need to prove that you live inside the zoned areas for it to be for free. All comes out of the rates you pay
IN THIS CITY OF CALGARY ALBERTA THERE ARE THREE HUGE DUMPSTER AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ZONE YOU LIVE IN YOU CAN USE ANY OF THEM. WHEN ARE YOU VISITING CANADA??@@aussietashreacts
I miss this show so much, they made a movie also in the early 2000's. This man is a genius lol
I remember Duct Tape Forever. I think Red and a few other lodge members made a duct tape sculpture for a contest in an effort to save the lodge.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love that he uses duct tape on everything! 🤣
It’s funny that when this show was on, I didn’t appreciate it, & didn’t give the show the time of day. Now, I think it’s genius!
Keep your stick on the ice.
Love Red Green. Thanks Tash. Love Steve Smith stand up as well.
❤❤ Good one Tash! Starts my morning off well ☕️❤️

The best part of these is that most of them could actually work.
I also like his skits "Adventures with Bill".
love old back and white comedy footage, cheers
You really need to see the Red Green film "Duct Tape Forever" :) You'll shit yourself laughing :)

THANK YOU.

Have you seen clips or reactions to letterkenny or trailer park boys
Did he say "now there is an American sandwich"? Huh?
IN CANADA YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR GARBAGE TO THE DUMPSTER AND PAY FOR IT, OTHERWISE IS ILLEGAL TO DUMP ANYTHING ON THE SIDE OF ANY ROAD.
