I loved this release, too! It felt like a very fitting capstone to their musical journey this year. On the subject of fireworks, I agree they were used for emotional effect, but I got the impression they were more of a nostalgic callback to Congratulations, especially when coupled with the shot of the highway from the rooftop that was highly reminiscent of I Wait. Having those two callbacks, to the beginnings of two very distinct eras, really made me feel the bookend effect of this song/mv. Also I think you're completely right about the symbolism of the three different sets, which I didnt catch at all the first time.
I love how you explained Sungjin's vocals! Thank you for helping me put into words for how I feel about his voice ^^ Sungjin's vocals are so unique, and I don't really hear such often. He makes songs (such as Goodbye Winter and Lean On Me, my top few songs, where he belts out the lyrics) sound even more emotional than it already is. He needs to be appreciated more XD (I love everyone's vocals tho tbh I'm trash for them all) Also, you explained the mv really well! I didn't think I could love it more than I already did, but then I saw this video and I'm even more blown away. I really liked this song, I actually find the chorus really addictive, it just sounds really pretty. I love Brian’s voice a lot, it’s so smooth and pleasant to listen to, and I feel like in this song we can really hear how much Jae improved throughout this project and it’s so great to hear him getting more lines. Sungjin’s vocals add another, deeper, layer to the song and Wonpil’s voice ties it all together. And as always Dowoon’s drumming is a perfect base/background for the song. The music video was also so beautiful, definitely one of the best. I think this might be one of my favorite releases of the year. Maybe top 10?

My daughter and I decided that when and not if we visit Seoul we want to see all these rooftops that are featured in many Kpop music videos and dramas.
I was listening to the song by itself, having only seen the video once, and I could literally feel/hear the point where the fireworks should go, idk how even to explain it but it was such a weirdly cool feeling. The fireworks also reminded me of Congratulations with the confetti, which was just an extra layer of nostalgia to this emotional cake haha

I felt the same about the fireworks - and bc it reminded me of congratulations but unlike its bitterness, this song was full of hope and sincerity and idk I just feel like that shows their growth like the parallel but in a happier context (if that makes sense). I think your theory on the fireworks is really true. During the December 23rd concert white & red heart confetti was shot out at that same part of the song. Fireworks and confetti add a feeling of awe to any moment. It's a very climactic moment that really connected me to the song. Now every time I hear this song I think about that moment.
PD - I love your reactions! I totally agree with what you said about the song being about the journey of telling someone you like them rather than actually saying it- this is seen when in the MV the guy smiles very brightly after releasing the balloon even though he’s on the rooftop and doesn’t know that the girl saw it! Also, what you said about starting from the bottom and making their way to the top, how creative! Honestly if that doesn’t represent their journey throughout the year then idk what will! The finality of the fireworks made me think of New Years as well, and I couldn’t help but notice how this video is reminiscent all the way back from the congratulations/you were beautiful era where they use their MVs to tell a story between different people; I wonder if their next comeback whenever that may be will pick up this story. Finally, I think this video directly juxtaposes I smile, one with the sunrise and the other with the moonrise, the perfect antithesis of emotion! Day6 fighting!
I really like the shadows that the side lighting creates in this reaction video. It fits the mood for me or the mood of a weary-traveler, the coming of winter, the reflective tone of this reaction. I think your overall excitement may have led you to "invent" 1/2 "meanings" that are not there/or not intended of this video. But is it fun/cute to watch since you seem genuine. I think that your tumblr boyfriend's comment on the length of this reaction is spot on!

Yes, I love this song so much T^T My heartstrings were pulled too hard xD Anyways, there was this one thing I noticed (and maybe others because it seems too obvious), that the song ended with the music fading out. It didn't have a definitive stop, it just continued playing and just faded out 'til we can't hear it. I think this also plays well with the "The show must go on" statement that they had by the end of the video. This may be unintentional, but I want it to be intentional because even in Music Shows they follow the same system and I really think it's a nice touch to the music video and to the song itself. It's like, they're telling us that even if EveryDay6 is over, that doesn't mean that Day6 is over as well. Well, this is a long comment. I'm sorry for ranting out too much. I just wanted to express it for a while. xD

How I feel about "I Like You"? I loved it and I didn't quite know why. Right away I played it a few more times. In a sense I felt it was "flat", but I loved it a lot and was a bit confused why I felt that way since I loved each moment of it. You explained it WAY better - it just doesn't have that pop catchiness in the melody that a lot of their songs have. (Despite being more in the rock genre.) So that's why I felt it was "flat". But in many aspects it also isn't. You actually helped me understand why I like the song much better. In my head I just lack the words tbh. Sometimes I know exactly what it is that I like about e.g. the singer's voice, but I could never explain it to someone else. You give words to some of these things. You also point out things I didn't notice and give a producer's perspective, which is really nice. I really appreciate your reviews.

I wanna say this if in case I haven't said it before, but as a MyDay, I really appreciate you, PD-nim for being such a sincere DAY6 fan. I hate to say this but I feel like there are a lot of UA-cam reactors out there who only react to DAY6 just to get a friend pass from Jae. And that breaks my heart. Jae is so generous to YT reactors and these reactors always give an impression, well at least to me, that they're only reacting for the sake of that friendship pass or getting-noticed-by-Jae pass that whatever they blurt out in their reaction vids don't seem genuine and sincere to me. But in your case and also, Umu's case, sincerity just transcends without you even working hard to give off that vibe. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart. DAY6 deserves genuine fans. 💙

Pretty much all our reaction at 5:57-6:05 lol. I agree though, this song wasn't as catchy however, it to me was a great conclusion to this whole project and like you said, like a sadness (aka because this project is OVER). I was able to relate to it the most emotionally even though, it wasn't as catchy as their previous songs. To me, this song was a great conclusion to this whole EVERYDAY6 project because of the built up emotion it had and i don't know about you all but I felt it.

I totally agree with what you said about the song being about the journey of telling someone you like them rather than actually saying it- this is seen when in the MV the guy smiles very brightly after releasing the balloon even though he’s on the rooftop and doesn’t know that the girl saw it! Also, what you said about starting from the bottom and making their way to the top, how creative! Honestly if that doesn’t represent their journey throughout the year then idk what will! The finality of the fireworks made me think of New Years as well, and I couldn’t help but notice how this video is reminiscent all the way back from the congratulations/you were beautiful era where they use their MVs to tell a story between different people; I wonder if their next comeback whenever that may be will pick up this story. Finally, I think this video directly juxtaposes I smile, one with the sunrise and the other with the moonrise, the perfect antithesis of emotion! Day6 fighting!

I really like the shadows that the side lighting creates in this reaction video. It fits the mood for me or the mood of a weary-traveler, the coming of winter, the reflective tone of this reaction. I think your overall excitement may have led you to "invent" 1/2 "meanings" that are not there/or not intended of this video. But is it fun/cute to watch since you seem genuine. I think that your tumblr boyfriend's comment on the length of this reaction is spot on!

Anyways, there was this one thing I noticed (and maybe others because it seems too obvious), that the song ended with the music fading out. It didn't have a definitive stop, it just continued playing and just faded out 'til we can't hear it. I think this also plays well with the "The show must go on" statement that they had by the end of the video.
This may be unintentional, but I want it to be intentional because even in Music Shows they follow the same system and I really think it's a nice touch to the music video and to the song itself. It's like, they're telling us that even if EveryDay6 is over, that doesn't mean that Day6 is over as well.

How I feel about "I Like You"? I loved it and I didn't quite know why. Right away I played it a few more times. In a sense I felt it was "flat", but I loved it a lot and was a bit confused why I felt that way since I loved each moment of it. You explained it WAY better - it just doesn't have that pop catchiness in the melody that a lot of their songs have. (Despite being more in the rock genre.) So that's why I felt it was "flat". But in many aspects it also isn't.
You actually helped me understand why I like the song much better. In my head I just lack the words tbh. Sometimes I know exactly what it is that I like about e.g. the singer's voice, but I could never explain it to someone else. You give words to some of these things. You also point out things I didn't notice and give a producer's perspective, which is really nice.

I wanna say this if in case I haven't said it before, but as a MyDay, I really appreciate you, PD-nim for being such a sincere DAY6 fan. I hate to say this but I feel like there are a lot of UA-cam reactors out there who only react to DAY6 just to get a friend pass from Jae. And that breaks my heart. Jae is so generous to YT reactors and these reactors always give an impression, well at least to me, that they're only reacting for the sake of that friendship pass or getting-noticed-by-Jae pass that whatever they blurt out in their reaction vids don't seem genuine and sincere to me. But in your case and also, Umu's case, sincerity just transcends without you even working hard to give off that vibe. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart. DAY6 deserves genuine fans. 💙

Pretty much all our reaction at 5:57-6:05 lol. I agree though, this song wasn't as catchy however, it to me was a great conclusion to this whole project and like you said, like a sadness (aka because this project is OVER). I was able to relate to it the most emotionally even though, it wasn't as catchy as their previous songs. To me, this song was a great conclusion to this whole EVERYDAY6 project because of the built up emotion it had and i don't know about you all but I felt it.
