in my country its really hard to stay competitive in prices, you pretty much get the quality of the 300$ for 50$, i sometimes charge 20-25$ bucks for a 100$-300$ job just because the clients rather pay for an ugly but cheap render than a hight quality and realistic render Excelent comparason video BTW
Hi Rafael, which country are you from? I'm from Bolivia, and here it happens the same as you describe, people expect to pay cheap for high quality renders and finally getting the cheapest and ugliest renders they can get just to save some money... It's really sad
Wow!! I am amazed by the amount of polemic this video is getting haha, I like that there is an active conversation on this comment section, but since it is a bit hard to respond to each one, I am going to give my thoughts here: *1. Is Fiver going to end the arch-viz industry?* No, it never will. The industry is filled with high-quality artists and companies that have a huge set of clients willing to pay a lot of money for their work. What a professional arch viz artist provides is customer service, quality images, experience, artistry, among so many other things. These characteristics are invaluable and just like the mass consumption of the camera for everyone to access and everyone can be a "photographer" did NOT end or devalue the careers of many professional photographers, these platforms are not going to end the arch viz industry. *2. Prices are too low for a render* Yes, as mentioned in the video, all of the prices, even the 300 USD ones, are really low. How does someone survive with a 15 USD render? Well, I think the situation is a bit more complex to grasp from some places than others. Fiverr is a platform for freelancers, some take it as a side hustle and some as a full-time job. For some of these freelancers, 15 USD is money they can help pay their bills with. The minimum wage in third-world countries is around (unfortunately) 300 USD. So the money they gain from Fiverr can actually help them more than the jobs for an architect in their country. If you are somehow angry that these 15-300 USD freelancers are taking your clients, maybe you are looking at it from another perspective. Think of it more like this, you necessarily don't want to have the clients that are looking for a 15-300 USD render, because these clients are looking for fast and relatively low-cost work (which is not bad either). Or these are clients that come from low budget projects or a country where it is unimaginable to pay more than 100 USD per render. So, if you charge more than 2k per render good! These people are not stealing your clients, and if you can make a fiver account and get clients that can pay 2-5k per render then congrats, that is possible as well in the platform. *3. Prices are too high for a render* haha just like there are people complaining about the low prices, there are some amazed at how I was able to waste 300 USD for a render and that they would do an even better image for a CHEAPER price. So as you can see, we have the full spectrum of architects here!! haha. But, first of all, as I already mentioned, these prices are very low, 15 USD is really low for a render and 300 USD is also really low for a render. Second, this video was made with the help of fiverr, so the guys over there gave me a chance to test out different price points just to see how it would work. I know that many of you can produce better images than these, I know that for many of you, this may be expensive for a render, but understand that each freelancer is in a different economical situation than you, also understand that for some this is their jobs. If maybe I spent a bit more time I can come up with a better image, if they spent more time they can create a better one, but try to understand where they come from, and their needs. *Conclusion* Architects have to value their work more, yes. Architects need to charge more, yes! But we also need a bit of empathy and knowledge of the economic conditions by which we live. As an architect I would love to charge 4x more than what a normal client will pay me for design work here in Colombia, but I know that the market that I am in right now doesn't allow it, or I would literally never have clients if I priced my work. That is perhaps also the reason I am working via social media, but that story is for another day haha.... I appreciate so much the discussion, I hope it continues! But let's try to place ourselves in shoes that are different from ours. Cheers! Steven

Nice write up. For the record, I am Nigerian and the minumum wage here is about 66 dollars per a month and there are people who earn way less. So like you said, each freelancer is in a different economic situation, what may not be enough to last someone for a week may feed another for the whole month and maybe even more.
And may that be a culture education to all the people who don't understand how economy works outside their country, and how low some people on the planet get paid related to others. In my country minimum wage is 600€ around 500 us dollars. So that 300 dollar image is a half month payment. So a lot of people from here would love to work for that money for 1 image when in your country it is a low paid image. Also not everything we buy is scaled according to income. Food and some stuff yes,but import, technology programs stay the same price as you so for us the cost of working may be higher than yours comparatively. A good computer for rendering may cost up to 4 or 5 minimum wages
I would recommend having renders done for you by freelancers. I wouldn't classify this as cheating or anything like that because sometimes the laptop isnt equipped to install heavy software like Lumion etc. Its not cheating if you've put in the work to having the building and site constructed on 3D modelling software
I thought about working on Fiverr as a freelance visualizer aswell, but there’s no way I could compete with these prices - 50$ for a rendering?! I guess most of these guys are either students or from countries with overall low salaries. I could barely work for an hour for this amount without being underpaid.
I'm from Argentina, and yeah, those 50$ here is like a weekly medium salary. I would even do renders for lower than that with no hesitation. So what you're saying is completely true
@@mae2309 and I work in Lumion. It can look way better than those renders. I've made such in my first week, when I just start learning the program. For people who are using Lumion for years- it is embarrassingly low quality

Wow! I love this... Their works aren't bad though but i believe there are lots of artists out there that can provide better images but aren't given the opportunity because of our Nationality. Nice one Steven👍
This proves that some people over exploit and some just accepts getting underpaid. The Cheap ones were the best. The more the price went up the worse it got.
Wow, I would not even start for anything less than 300 on a project like this. What are these folks thinking? They completely devalue the amount of work that is required for a good render artist.
Not at all! it is just that some software acquire a certain staple look with their basic settings on and it is very easy to distinguish them. It is not necessarily bad but in some occasions you want to avoid it. I would say many programs have this and it is the role of the actual artist to try to squeeze out the best of each software so the render avoids the generic feel.
Hey man. I really love and enjoyed your video. This is proof that not all good quality stuff come at greater prices. I do prefer the 2nd Renderer ($50), it does really show good potential but the good thing about the 5th Renderer ($300) is that she goes out of the box and even proposed something better in that scene which is interesting. I am also in the design and rendering field. I hope I can join in on one of these someday. Stay awesome!
Most of these prices are less than what you will pay hourly for archviz. These prices are quite ridiculous, this is (thankfully) reflected in the quality. They don't really come close to professionally done archviz. Which is not that weird because the cost of software, assets and models alone would is more expensive than the final image.
Obviously the 300$ has a lot of improvements and work, and it seems more "realistic", but WOW, the 15$ image??? I would need at least 5 hours to do that. I can't do all this work in 30-40 minutes to have a good $/hour ratio!!!
It's a very clarifying video, but the Fiverr market it's not compatible with a professional environment, the 15 $ option it's a good option for the money. The 300 $ option it's proportional for the quantity of hours inverted in the solution. I'm renderer and I make acceptable solution with Artlantis,
Loved the 80$ tier ( good composition ) ....and the 300$ has a nice mood too. 👍 You talked briefly about some Archiviz studios .. Would LOVE a video on it man !
@@prymexxxx you mean the visualizer's output? but if you are pertaining to the amount. that 300 bucks is enough to someone, that is more than enough actually. In the Philippines the basic is 20$ per view, sometimes lower than that or package like 20$ per 2 views. The viz industry here is frustrating! p.s. not all, but majority.
15usd is the best quality/price, it is a completely steal to be paid 15usd for those renders. The 50usd is also underpriced. I would glady pay 100usd to any of those guys to give them more time to tweak them a little more or add some more details to them, and it will be still a good price.
15 was great for the price, really nice and got the building overall, The 50 Usd was just inconsistent with the images but it was worth the money, the 80 added unnecessary buildings to the project as you said and composition is boring, 100 unfinished and 300 is a joke for that single image and its good but its not worth 300
300 $ is huge for this single render, even one of the cut out figure lighting didn't match. in this price one night view can also be added. with three day view.
Dude,I am always interested in Books and your bookshelf seems quite enticing.Do a review of some architectural jewels you have in you library behind you or you could just list all of them in the description. Thanks,I enjoyed the video.
to be honest this feels insulting. The prices are are extremely low and not justifiable by the lower cost of living in some countries. We have pretty much pay the same prices in hardware, software licenses, assets etc so even if you take account the huge difference in living costs you would still need to charge more...unless of course you are using only pirated software and assets or exclusively CC0 stuff, which to be honest I highly doubt.
My favourite was the 50$ no. 2, the lighting and interior additions were great. But the 300$ was OK and would of been better if they didn't mess up the few people in the background.
The cheaper dude used a pirated version of Lumion that cost 0 to him and he rendered it in 30 seconds. The second dude took 4 hours to render the image in a paid version of VRAY. That explains the difference in prices.

Nothing beats the value of 15$ but it was interesting to see that adding the round bench and tree in the courtyard really improved the space and there was some maturity in the sophistication of the textures, however it could be accused of being architect style in the sense that the materials don't resemble specific real materials and it's a bit overexposed.
Yea my grand grand father was the inventor of industrial Terazzo in Vienna before 1900. My grand father lost the patent to some German in WWII but this bench did not make the cut for me. Terrazzo benches are sooo passe!
I like the 4th one most tho, maybe it's the lighting in it, or the perspective, I dont know what it is. I understand it could use a bit more on the composition, cause there were no furniture or entourage
$ 300 for that!!? OMG!! I am Uruguayan, I have been a renderer for 5 years now and I make renderings of much higher quality than that, the maximum I can charge and in fact I have charged was 80 dollars ... It is unfortunate how poorly paid we are here, being that in other countries they charge 4 times more for lower quality work.
@@bentrebellion4830 It is not feasible to buy software licenses for any freelancer here, or for small studios. To put you in context, the salary of a cad drawer, received architect, is 2.5 usd per hour. We are latinamericans, we don't have the luck you have in your countries.
I do rendering and I charge AU$300 for the project if a model is provided. The $50 render to me looks like the most effort was put in in terms of setup, but the lighting and texturing was really poorly done. For instance, the grass steps has grass on the rise, but should be a structural material. But the vegetation was very nicely setup. The last one was by far the best one and is what I would expect from a properly done architectural render. However, only one render? With my projects, I'll provide multiple perspectives until the client is happy, and will only charge extra if there are any major changes to the model.
it is wrong to think in the "best bang for the buck" paradigm when is coming for an architectural render - point is to choose the right skills in mastering a rendering software relative to your needs - otherwise, anyone can press the render button, so all that being said, It looks like you choose the wrong freelancer for any price category, any of them have no prior experience in using the render software they own or no desire to learn
the last one is descent! but the people needs matching more from saturation to shadows to just be more integrated in the whole 3d mood , they just look like png's , he could've added maybe some motion blurr effect ! and i think he's the only one rendered on either corona or v-ray , the rest are lumion ! but really lumion can deliver much more then that ! werid tho !
Que tal ?! Que alegre verte por acá Steven ! (I had no idea), concuerdo con vos, prices are somewhat cheap in all honesty and if we're being reasonable con la cantidad de tiempo que uno invierte en la producción de los renders y todas las implicaciones que eso conlleva; que hayan agregado a la gente it's definitely a plus (I always appreciate being able to see human scales and how that gives you a reference of the overall ambiance and interaction, this is also applicable to vegetation as well ). Second option, I'm with you on the fact that the artist took the time to work on the background, that was cool. $80.00 dollar gig [eloquently put, as far as your thoughts on it, couldn't agree more ! that said, grass treatment I felt was a bit overdone...just a bit, I mean, it's hard to get full foliage and extremely green grass in the tropics with extreme weather conditions and limited water resources right ?! But I understand the concept part of it, which is magnificent]; $100.00 one...man oh man...lighting ! it's very interesting and I wish that I could achieve that effect, let's just leave it there, nothing more to add. Camera 03 option on final gig is one of my personal favorites ! Very spot on with the tree and bench.
I know this video was sponsored by Fiver so it all had to be positive, but Jesus Christ its stuff like this that seriously messes up the professional field of architectural visualization. For real. I own a render studio and I regularly get confused clients that show me renderings they previously got that look like garbage but wonder my prices aren't pennies an hour. Now I know where they get these crazy ideas. I mean think about it. If you do the math, the guy that charged $15 bucks for 3 renderings finished in 2 days (18 business hours) basically got paid 83 cents an hour! This is giving clients a false sense of value to our craft whether they realize it or not. You're not ordering a #1 from McDonalds extra fry with a limited time coupon, but this shit brings it down for potential clients to exactly that. Anyways end of rant, nothing against the video itself lol.
Hey Lewis, if your target clients are looking for renders to be done in Fiverr, then I advise you change your strategy. Fiverr is a platformfor freelancers of many parts of the world with different economies, of course pricing is something crucial for these freelancers that are just starting out. But you as a render studio have all the knowledge and leverage to get high paying clients, these freelancers aren't stealing your clients, you are just looking in the wrong place :) Cheers!

People saying that 300 is expensive or even 70 is fine make me so sad. Nowadays artists don't appreciate their own time.
in my country its really hard to stay competitive in prices, you pretty much get the quality of the 300$ for 50$, i sometimes charge 20-25$ bucks for a 100$-300$ job just because the clients rather pay for an ugly but cheap render than a hight quality and realistic render
Excelent comparason video BTW
thanks!
Hi Rafael, which country are you from? I'm from Bolivia, and here it happens the same as you describe, people expect to pay cheap for high quality renders and finally getting the cheapest and ugliest renders they can get just to save some money... It's really sad
Thanks again! Greatings from Stefano! :D
great job Stefano!
Wow!! I am amazed by the amount of polemic this video is getting haha, I like that there is an active conversation on this comment section, but since it is a bit hard to respond to each one, I am going to give my thoughts here:
*1. Is Fiver going to end the arch-viz industry?*
No, it never will.
*2. Prices are too low for a render*
Yes, as mentioned in the video, all of the prices, even the 300 USD ones, are really low.
*3. Prices are too high for a render*
haha just like there are people complaining about the low prices, there are some amazed at how I was able to waste 300 USD for a render and that they would do an even better image for a CHEAPER price.
*Conclusion*
Architects have to value their work more, yes.

@@PauloSousa86 : Not just a cultural lesson, but a lesson on what globalization presents.
I would recommend having renders done for you by freelancers. I wouldn't classify this as cheating or anything like that because sometimes the laptop isnt equipped to install heavy software like Lumion etc. Its not cheating if you've put in the work to having the building and site constructed on 3D modelling software
@Aubame Pierre nothing wrong with offloading part of a job so you can focus on more important aspects.
yay soon we can all be working for a cup of rice thanks to fivver
in egypt they offer 10$ for a single render, which is a reasonable price for that country 😜
each price has different markets!
@@ShowItBetter Yes, that's why render in Egypt 10$ is for a single render, In U.S. 150$ is for a single render
9:37 sun in the sky and the light in the environment are coming from two totally different directions...
I thought about working on Fiverr as a freelance visualizer aswell, but there’s no way I could compete with these prices - 50$ for a rendering?! I guess most of these guys are either students or from countries with overall low salaries. I could barely work for an hour for this amount without being underpaid.
Exactly , they are the reason why the whole industry is so underpaid
3d artist trashing each other and said hours of work doesn’t even worth 50 bucks , what a joke
I'm from Argentina, and yeah, those 50$ here is like a weekly medium salary. I would even do renders for lower than that with no hesitation. So what you're saying is completely true
@@mae2309 and what program do you use? Because it is hard to compare these 20 minutes Lumion renderings with 3dmax/Corona.
@@mae2309 and I work in Lumion. It can look way better than those renders. I've made such in my first week, when I just start learning the program. For people who are using Lumion for years- it is embarrassingly low quality
FAHIM RENDER 2 which I think is the 50 dl job.....that is a magazine shot (minus the people) the rest are amateurish..FAHIM nailed composition, range, depth, tone, and feel. Congrats Fahim. Loose the people though they don’t fit the scene , it cheapens the product....I like the plane though..lol. If anything definitely get rid of the man at the very front the rest are ok .. I do like the red one that is talking to somebody.
I believe the 50$ one was worth it
Way better compare to the 300$ that is a complete
swindler.

Glad it was helpful!

Now I want the file to do my own rendering. I'm an absolute fan of Blender and I think I can put a good competition in here. For free.

Their works aren't bad though but i believe there are lots of artists out there that can provide better images but aren't given the opportunity because of our Nationality.
Nice one Steven👍
Totally!
lol what??!
The last one looks best.
50 dollar second man ... is the best!
Yeah
they are not US based. 15$ USD for that person is most likely a lot

@@bentrebellion4830yeah lol ok, you should travel a bit or inform yourself on this matter.
it seems like archviz industry is going in the "race for the cheapest" direction
What do you mean by "Lumion-ish" is it a bad software?
Not at all! it is just that some software acquire a certain staple look with their basic settings on and it is very easy to distinguish them.
You talked briefly about some Archiviz studios .. Would LOVE a video on it man !
D PDF s are d best... Along with their texturing style seen in the chosen view.....
50 bucks one is really good. But 300 bucks one is the real pro render.
Say that again 😌.
But really far from master archviz works, actually... Best quality/price deal, anyway. Congrats. And thank you for this video.
nah- for me 300 bucks is not a pro I am expecting more.
@@studiomsg6002 300 bucks is cheap in this industry btw
@@prymexxxx you mean the visualizer's output? but if you are pertaining to the amount. that 300 bucks is enough to someone, that is more than enough actually. In the Philippines the basic is 20$ per view, sometimes lower than that or package like 20$ per 2 views. The viz industry here is frustrating! p.s. not all, but majority.
In New Zealand we charge $1,500 per image.
Ohh,, wish I lived in NZ
15usd is the best quality/price, it is a completely steal to be paid 15usd for those renders. The 50usd is also underpriced. I would glady pay 100usd to any of those guys to give them more time to tweak them a little more or add some more details to them, and it will be still a good price.
totally agree! someone has to elevate their prices!
tbh 300 for that final render is dirt cheap for an actual company that would use this for construction concepts
yep
15 was great for the price, really nice and got the building overall, The 50 Usd was just inconsistent with the images but it was worth the money, the 80 added unnecessary buildings to the project as you said and composition is boring, 100 unfinished and 300 is a joke for that single image and its good but its not worth 300
Lumionish… is lumion not good? I’ve been trying to learn how to render and have been using lumion and enscape. Should I be using something else?
NO stick with it!
300 $ is huge for this single render, even one of the cut out figure lighting didn't match. in this price one night view can also be added. with three day view.
you must do more content like this! i love it
Dude,I am always interested in Books and your bookshelf seems quite enticing.Do a review of some architectural jewels you have in you library behind you or you could just list all of them in the description. Thanks,I enjoyed the video.
Tony couldn’t help but put some houses 😂
The $50 one(u like) is really good, I think that image u like can paid $30 more as bonus for this artist.
It would be cool see one for plans/ sections / diagrams too
to be honest this feels insulting.
But the 300$ was OK and would of been better if they didn't mess up the few people in the background.
your comment is very good
The cheaper dude used a pirated version of Lumion that cost 0 to him and he rendered it in 30 seconds.
The second dude took 4 hours to render the image in a paid version of VRAY.
That explains the difference in prices.
You need better eye, it's all Lumion, last one has people added in PS
Nothing beats the value of 15$ but it was interesting to see that adding the round bench and tree in the courtyard really improved the space and there was some maturity in the sophistication of the textures, however it could be accused of being architect style in the sense that the materials don't resemble specific real materials and it's a bit overexposed.
Yea my grand grand father was the inventor of industrial Terazzo in Vienna before 1900. My grand father lost the patent to some German in WWII but this bench did not make the cut for me. Terrazzo benches are sooo passe!
I love the white versions of the 300$ tier
they just look awesome
but the render not
Im waiting for this video all day
haha finally!
I like the 4th one most tho, maybe it's the lighting in it, or the perspective, I dont know what it is. I understand it could use a bit more on the composition, cause there were no furniture or entourage
yes, the texturing is really good!
$ 86 for fiverr not counting 20% of tips, excellent
I think the 50 dollar one is quite interesting, because the thumbnail you are using is that 😁
$ 300 for that!!?
$80? come on, even with $80 you can't pay the licence for the software...
@@bentrebellion4830 It is not feasible to buy software licenses for any freelancer here, or for small studios. To put you in context, the salary of a cad drawer, received architect, is 2.5 usd per hour. We are latinamericans, we don't have the luck you have in your countries.
Where do you show your work?
I do rendering and I charge AU$300 for the project if a model is provided. The $50 render to me looks like the most effort was put in in terms of setup, but the lighting and texturing was really poorly done. For instance, the grass steps has grass on the rise, but should be a structural material. But the vegetation was very nicely setup. The last one was by far the best one and is what I would expect from a properly done architectural render. However, only one render? With my projects, I'll provide multiple perspectives until the client is happy, and will only charge extra if there are any major changes to the model.
that was entertaining... thank you for your investment in the viewers
50 usd second image looked good
it is wrong to think in the "best bang for the buck" paradigm when is coming for an architectural render - point is to choose the right skills in mastering a rendering software relative to your needs - otherwise, anyone can press the render button, so all that being said, It looks like you choose the wrong freelancer for any price category, any of them have no prior experience in using the render software they own or no desire to learn
Honestly , none of them except for the 15 dollar one was worth it. 300 dollars were absolutely not!
interesting and refreshing to see, thanks!
just second folder(think 42$).nice and good price.
As a 3D Artist, I would prefer the $50 & $300
the last one is descent! but the people needs matching more from saturation to shadows to just be more integrated in the whole 3d mood , they just look like png's , he could've added maybe some motion blurr effect ! and i think he's the only one rendered on either corona or v-ray , the rest are lumion ! but really lumion can deliver much more then that ! werid tho !
Very spot on with the tree and bench.
as a 3d artist myself, I honestly didn't like any of them, In terms of Money the first one was the best one,
I know this video was sponsored by Fiver so it all had to be positive, but Jesus Christ its stuff like this that seriously messes up the professional field of architectural visualization.
