The reason Baptist hard is not that because the fight is hard, it's because you have to start with 0 energy because of the lectors from previous chamber 😂

It's smart of you to take a break
taking a break and coming back the next day helped me in so many abyss cycles
If you have Kazuha but can't spare any pyro units for bottom half, you can pick up pyro element with Kazuha from end of phase 1 of Baptist to help break cryo shield in phase 2.
Apparently a lot of Ayaka mains in CN community were able to successfully run her normal freeze team on bottom half with this tech.

I love that burgeon + Kuki team. It was fun just seeing numbers but in different colors
Hyperburgeon. Both a pyro and electro triggers are redundant and the pyro can actually hurt the team more than it helps, but it’s great for elemental checks and overall they perform similarly to the correspondent hyperbloom/burgeon team while being generally much easier to play than a proper burgeon team thanks to hyperbloom’s flexibility and effectiveness, also the numbers are funny.

good thing this boss has low hp cuz sometimes trynna meet all the elemental checks leaves you with a team with not so great dps

I kept getting 2 stars on Floor 12 but i was checking your live stream the other day and got the idea during it to put Thoma in my Cyno team for first half ice shield. It was really hard to stay alive but it in the end it worked. Thanks for the clear info breakdowns you always take the time explaining about.

One thing I needed to adapt for sac sword xingqiu was using his first skill before the baptists shield and only using his second skill into the pyro shield.Hitting shields doesnt trigger sac sword and if you're only running the minimum 180 er you won't have enough energy for the next rotation

You forgot to mention that the baptist tries to power drain you during its electro shield phase. So yeah, right before its long vulnerability window. So either dodge it (which I found challenging to do) or simply start your rotation before that power draining attack.
Don't forget that vape variations of teams like neuvilette are exceptionally good because of the abyss blessing that benefits teams who have any sort of pyro

Used neuvi , furina , jean and xiangling( baizhu if you wanna play this second half )
Arle vape team second half (zhongli instead of kazuha if you find the lector annoying )

national teams are so good this abyss, and they've always been extremely reliable. makes me wish i could make two of them lol
Yep, it felt like it was pre-Sumeru again when we want to have two Bennetts and Xianglings.
I hope the next region brings another fast Pyro application support. I know they won’t do Xiangling again, but I could use a pyro coordinated attacker (like a red numbers Raiden skill), or a Pyro damage AOE pulse character (like Xinyan, Thoma, or Dehya but trading all the defensive utility for meaningful damage from the pulse).
@@studiesinflux1304 My guess that the pyro archon would most likely be a 5 star Bennett with a bit of Xiangling.
After so long i tried not to use it, this abyss forced my hands to deploy the ultimate team and i became bored and not feeling challenged. International it is.

Nice guide. This Abyss is kinda annoying with all strickt elemental requirements and multible waves. High single target dps, but still some AoE requirements.
For me I found Reverse Melt at top (Bennett, XL, Kaeya, Rose) and Hu Tao Plunge at Bottom (Hu Tao, XQ, Furina, Xianyun) was the most comfortable for me.
Amen to that, this is the one where the developers were like humm “I know they don’t have two National teams…..” I split mine like you Hutao + XQ and Bennett + XL for the clear.

Great guide, Jyo, this baptist is quite annoying (although my pyro coverage is a bit lackluster when it doesn't come to on-field DPS's)
My Hyperbloom comps easily one cycle The Baptist, it was Nahida, Kuki, xingqiu, yelan, with Nahida onfield Dps build with deepwood.
the Baptist is the reason why Xingqui is better than Neuvillette in 2nd half, Xingqui's hydro application is better because his burst basically has no icd
cleared floor 12 with hypercarry raiden on first half and wrio/xinagling/xingqiu/diona on the second half.
missed only 1 star on chamber 1 but i replayed it with another team and got it
Navia national also work on the iniquitous baptist. But, the easiest really is burgeon.
Nahida national was good for previous baptist due to his hydro shield back then but this newer baptist doesnt have it so no good reason for the burning xinqiu vaping team.
i 36 star this using Neuvillette hyperbloom (Neuvillette, Raiden, Nahida, Layla with the Ousia sword to disable copelius' shield) and Kazuha national

Build tons of ER and if possible bring Bennett, he has very fast and high gauge pyro application.
This Abyss is annoying (Because everyone only has One National Team lol). Kazuha great chamber 3 first half but somewhat powerless in chambers 1 and 2 first halves. Bennett extremely useful second half but Xiangling great first half. This is what we get for having double Pyro dps banners. It’s almost like the developers want us to clear it twice reversing our line ups. I eventually did it w Hutao XQ one half and Bennett XL the other. Talk abt splitting up National.
Abyss is always annoying when they bring those shield freaks. Not to mention both halves have aoe+single target mixed, worse than some previous abyss that has aoe on one side and st on the other. And, we havent even seen the hydro-cryo herald combo + waves of constipated beast yet during the fontaine patch... We're gonna mald even harder when they come around xD

I'm working on a Chamber 2 guide next, hoping to upload it in 2 days or so.
In the meantime, Bennett is extremely useful against those Lectors. Give him some interruption resist (like Xingqiu or Zhongli), put down his Burst on the Lectors, and spam his Skill, which will have a reduced CD while he's inside his Burst. Nahida is another character that's very fast at chipping down their shield.
Pyro, Dendro, cryo, Anemo, even hydro chips away at their shields. You just need time.
You can also use TF set on Bennett to get his skill back even faster.
Me, a clown without Xq/Yelan who also feels like she needs two Xianglings this abbyss (no Hutao or Arle either)
