Fairly new subscriber, I am working through your content (Like the style of your vids) Flown many stabalisers on FPV models over the years and found this one is very locked in compared to the likes of the old Orange one, I am impressed by this product at the price point..

Thanks Chris..... I was pleasantly surprised by this stabiliser and may get another to test out on a small conventional plane.

One of mine is on a Speedy 600 "Lukewarm" Liner and is great for LOS

I was thinking of a little bi-plane I have..... Its a handful in the wind as it is small

My flying mate Terry installs Frsky S6R & S8R in EVERYTHING, I have ”nearly” all models fitted with The newer Orange with switch and a couple of Aerostar stabilisers, in windy weather they knock at least 15mph of any wind and is great for gusty cross wind landings. They can dull the surfaces a little but they can be switched out in good weather. It is a must for small biplane stress free landings ;-) Years ago the Eagle Tree Guardian was as good as the Aerostar BUT much more expensive. Yea I am a bit of an Aerostar Fan Boy lol.
Another good stabiliser is a Turnegy T1000 mine is installed in a cloud surfer I keep in the car as my FPV hack, I got a PCB from Canada that enables pass through while in GPS Mode so I can fly if with gay abandon and still have RTL on loss of signal !

My mate has the T1000 and used to be from Hobbyking but not seen them for ages. His works fine but the passthrough was a problem as he could only fly with stabiliser. He was ok with that mind.

lol.....its a pain when it defies all logic. I was adding it to my wing and spent ages too. My mate called over and informed me to me to set the radio as a standard 4ch plane and allow the unit to do the mix......blew my mind....hahaha but was such a relief...

Hi, thanks for this videos, can you please show how you connected the stabilizer to receiver. I am new to this.
    Thanks
    Ray

You will see there are Aileron, Elevator & Rudder in and out connections. if connecting to a conventional plane then set the plane up as normal then unplug the servos from your receiver and plug them into the flight controller OUT set then use the patch leads provided to go from the OUT connections to the receiver. Have a look at this:

Hi, I have a question about the mounting position of the Gyro. Will the Gyro still work if I mount it upside down and reverse servo direction? Thanks

    • @TWSreviews
      @TWSreviews  6 років тому

Yes it can go in upside down. But you may need access to trim the pots. As ling as lengthways is in line with the fuselage.

Great video! I just bought a Hobby Porter FR810 receiver-flight controller with GPS recently and I'm going mad trying to understand the Chinglish manual to program it! It's horrible! Wish someone would make a video just like this one to show how to operate it!
    Cheers!

I just had a look and looks clumsy. If it was me I would set the PID's below 1/2 way and try how it feels. FrSky do a S series receiver and set with a PC. A little bit of a challenge to go through the setup but once you have calibrated its pretty good with stock settings

@@TWSreviews Actually, I bought Flitetest's Aura lite. It is an awesome bit of kit.
Just doesn't have GPS. You can configure it with the buttons on board or use the PC configuration program. I also have an old Turnigy T1000FC with GPS that's still in the box. With our State on lockdown, I need to get busy building.

@@kkuenzel56 Where in the world are you?.....here in the UK we have had really bad weather for months and even really bad floods....as soon as lockdown was introduced the weather turned nice.....I've been in my shed clearing out all my cupboards and repairing things I never had the time to do before....we have a few more weeks of this and really happy that the weather has been so good as rain would be so depressing...... Keep busy, keep distracted.......we will get through this and get back to flying again soon......keep safe
