Despite this being sort of a bad anime ova/movie, i actually legit liked certain aspects of this anime, like I liked that the mayor's son was involved in a gang and his interactions with Miho and Miho's cinderella story thing but how both stories being interconnected to each, the whole thing being pulled off was a bit awkward.
I love the plot. I love the song. I love the characters. I love the concept. I love the ending. I love every damn thing about this and I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it- 😭

Those dresses are so amazing and when she move with it. I can’t believe she's so pretty but her obasan is just so cruel to destroy her design. I'd like to wear those kind of clothing

I've been searching for this for so long T-T and I ended up with an 80s disco version of Cinderella full of questionable story choices and clichés. Oh, well, at least it's still entertaining from a retro and magical girl fan's perspective.
Fashion Lala was an aborted Seika Note/Pierrot project. When Pierrot pulled out of magical girls, instead of scrapping completely the TV series project, they made it into an OVA. No wonder it makes very little sense in terms of story. However, it gives us a good idea of the aesthetics the series would have had and my god, I would have loved to see the concept fully developed. The 1998 Fancy Lala show was a mashup of Fashion Lala and Idol Coco (another aborted Seika Note/Pierrot project) made for Pierrot 20th anniversary. Coco should have been a TV Series made in 1988 to celebrated Pierrot 10th anniversary.

Gerard Whittaker It's literally a prototype of Fancy Lala made by the same animation studio from the 80's. It isn't copying anything.
