Ok y'all don't get something: Congress makes $174,000 a year. They must maintain residence in their home state and also pay for housing in DC, as well as cover any flight costs, not covered by the government at all. If you are a hawaii Congress person, no way in hell you are covering all of your expenses with your salary, with low ball 6 flights too and from DC. Like the whole fucking problem is that Congress doesn't get payed enough to be financially independent, the only way to get by is either being independently wealthy or by accepting party or donor support, which makes them indebted and reliant on them. Congress payroll is $93,090,000 for 535 people a year, that 0.00151538336317% of the national budget. Trust me, almost invariably, MTG's or AOC's salary does not even constitute 5 cents of your tax bill each year

Crockett’s fake eyelashes, and AOC made a motion about how that comment went against their committee’s rules against personal attacks, but the committee voted to not pass that motion, so Rep. Crockett was understandably upset why MTG could get away with personal attacks like that. Yes it’s like childhood drama, but that’s what MTG instigates and thinks she can get away with it. She does not respect any of her peers or her constituents and is an embarrassment to our country that she was elected.
