It was 98* today over here and I do have fond memories of what rain is. Please send some to So.Cal! We NEED it! I do thank you again, Doc. for you sharing your insights. I still have the best looking lawn on the block and I skimp on the water, I have no choice.
🎶🎶Ahhh...Push it! 🎶🎶🤣🤣 Doing lawn renovation and hitting some weak spots tomorrow with 10-10-10, pgf complete and dirt booster. Also using the proplogger on some bare spots instead of overseeding bermuda. Thanks for the inspiration.
Georgia is SO much different than Texas. Here in north Texas our temps are still way hot. I thought you don’t normally put balance down or is it became of all the patches?
Had a similar issue this year. I tried seeding an area with some zoysia and it just did not take. Turns out my top soil was pretty woody I used and even worse I had subterranean solid concrete clusters where the builders had been mixing when they built our house. We have a brand new build.
Hey Doc out here in North Texas it looks like we’re going to be pushing 100+ degrees the rest of the month. Does the advice still stand for us in this neck of the woods? Got a lot of scaring from fungus that I am trying to fix. Would you recommend overseeing to speed that process up? (It’s two year old sod)
Living in the Texas hill country here and we did it. Worked great for us. Hope that helps. Especially if you aren't on a watering stipulation. We are bit with a hand wand I've been able to water every day
I bought a bag of Dirt Booster+ and then ended up with some medical issues before I could put it down. I asked my 20 year old son to spread it for me one day. “What is that stuff? It smells like cereal!” I had to chuckle.
Hello Doc, Now you know why Ol’ time GA Farmers were so poor. How would you like to try to farm acres of that stuff (clay)! It will take a lot of Dirt Booster and goood organic material to loosen it up. One can plug and aerate and plug and aerate until the cows come home, but it will always goes back to hard clay. I do know one thing, if anyone can get it whipped into shape, it is you! Anxiously awaiting … I know I’m going to learn. I’ve been trying to figure the stuff out for more than 30 years!
It’s still 100 for the next couple days here in FT. worth TX…. However it’s dropping to lower 90’s…. I’m cutting short still and watering 8 min a section. I haven’t reworked my McLane 20” so I have a rotary.. my lawn is nicer than any other in my sub division…. I have 15-5-10 fast release and 28-0-0 slow release…. I can only get the Anderson’s CharX…. I’ve put on easily 400lbs of it…. I water 10 min a section each day, bcuz it’s stillll dry…. So, since it’s getting to your temps finally it seems, can I cut super short? Not a full scalp, and put my 15-5-10 on. And along with the 28-0-0 SR???? And still have good results??
You mentioned PGF balance and PGF complete, how close together can you put those down? I just leveled off some low spots in my lawn and put some PGF complete but hearing you say the PDF balance is faster push I’m wondering how long I have to wait. I put the light application 3.6/1000ft.
Hello Doc, new subscriber, and just recently do DYI my lawn; for summer and fall lawn care maintenance: How often is the general frequency of applying Super Juice? As needed, monthly or in combo with HUMICHAR & PGF complete?
Doc, is there a preventative to these products lowering the PH of the lawn? I did a test today with tap and distilled water with Humichar, super juice and PGF Balance and they all dropped the original PH down considerably. The SJ was the worst in dropping it below what my meter would read. My soil test came back low PH and I purchased lime but it seems the products are causing the issue. Thoughts? Thank you.
Oh yeah dirt booster is like his favorite product probably. My grass loves it. I buy a refill of the Recharge spray packs that come with it from Real Growers. That spray stuff feeds the mycorrhiza that's in the granules. Keeps the soil fresh and fertile.
It would be wonderful in this day of global warming and excessive fossil fuel use to show low carbon solutions to good lawn maintenance. I just want a healthy attractive lawn, not a putting green. For example, I apply biochar biannually to improve the soil permanently and aerate in June for Bermuda lawn, fertilize monthly during summer. Looking pretty good but still slow filling in areas.
I can't wait for those temps. Still in triple digits
Yeeeep. The weeds are thriving and it is entirely too hot to put down a weed killer. Ugh.
I wish you would to a video with that GK series on HOC adjustment and reel to bedknife adjustment

Awesome stuff!! Thanks Doc
Wow, your grass looks like that in August? Mine looks like I should be giving hay rides
Thanks, Doc!

Doc, the calendars are awesome, but what about us south florida people? Just follow summer guidelines?
I will be laying down new Bermuda sod in the spring for our new house. Can you do a do's and don't for the first year on new sod?
Thanks for your videos

Try using straw over the seeds. Fescue loves it , Bermuda and Zoysia seed hate it. Use the straw , it will work out for you
It seems like everyone watching is from Texas, lol! Here I am in San Antonio watching while my yard is nothing but dirt now because of the heat😝
Just Fertilized and DB same time and the rain went right by. Such bad timing.
Don't forget a spare belt for your Aerator Doc, that hard soil is likely going to stretch your drive belt!
Same in central tx, just a random drop in temp

Don’t overseed Bermuda sod. If you have large areas that need repaired you can buy a pro plugger and plug those areas.
I'm dealing w the samething and I'm in south texas

Dirt booster is good to add to your soil anyway. I've put it on my lawn many times throughout the summer. It's more a soil conditioner
I’m in Dallas. It looks like we might be getting some rain next week!
I bought a bag of Dirt Booster+ and then ended up with some medical issues before I could put it down. I asked my 20 year old son to spread it for me one day.

Can you advise how you trim sidewalk edges?

How often do you cut to achieve non discoloration or scalping

Definitely keep the beard looks awesome
Hi doc…. What would be the percent of recovery based on water, pgf complete , dirt booster, etc Thanks

Sorry no can do Doc it is stoll 100 plus here in Texas is there anything else you can suggest for that
Im in Dallas and just put down some Milorganite
Have you ever thought about pre germinate your seeds?

My JD 2025 and tiller will cut it! I have hard clay it gets soft after tilling and will grow with all of the great Anderson soil amendments.
What type of Bermuda do you have on your yard?
Doc you know how it is in the south, we get a little respite from the heat and we get a drought and a heat wave.
Doc would it be ok to apply dirt booster in constant 95+ degree weather?
Oh yeah dirt booster is like his favorite product probably. My grass loves it. I buy a refill of the Recharge spray packs that come with it from Real Growers. That spray stuff feeds the mycorrhiza that's in the granules. Keeps the soil fresh and fertile.
Not in Texas. Is freaking hot and dry here 😒 100 +
For a wheel barrow, try guerilla cart....OMG it rocks.... You'll thank me later
Put some dirt booster in it
Even the top soil in 40lb bags have woodchips in them...smh
If I left my yard to rot for 2 months, I’d have dirt.
