+Ardashes Najarian, yeah, and one punch man as well. They do this a lot since the main character has the simplest face in the show. While everyone else looks like they are from a "serious" anime
+Whyt Manga Are you ever gonna fix your audio? i don't wanna be a dick but it's getting tiring to have to adjust my settings for your videos and then adjust them back to normal after.
+Whyt Manga Dude thank you so much for this video and I will ask my mom to buy the first volume. I am 12 years old and a aspiring manga artist. I have a question for you as well: do you live in the U.S and If so who published your manga?
I taught myself how to draw when I was 8. I first drew ruroni kenshin. I remember this guy was drawing dbz and I said I could do that. being left handed my art style is a bit odd. I disliked when people would make fun of my style so it would discourage me. high school I had friends that I could draw with. now as a adult I don't have that spark that I once had to draw.
im left handed too..and my passion is drawing (more to anime). You should draw again and forget the naysayers. Why would they make fun of you? They must be jealous that you could draw and they cant
I'm right handed.... I'm busy as hell with college so I don't draw as much as I should, or as much as i want to... but no excuses. NEVER stop, or give up... yes it takes time and effort but man is it fun and worth it, not to mention you could be the next hajime isayama that guy has atrocious art work in the attack on titan manga, but guess what he does what he loves and made millions from it all in a week!!!
HxH's style is what drove me to draw again. The older-ish art styles have my heart because they are so far from realistic but is on the verge of realism and its so weird but so fascinating. The backgrounds are more historical and fun to me. Anime nowadays also have my heart because its so imaginative and is like a completely reinterpreted reality (character anatomy wise) but the scene and background is so realistic and grounded to the real world.
Not trying to be rude, but this video sidetracked on topics every other minute. By the end I was just confused. Not saying what you were telling us was wrong, but maybe try a shorter script or stay on topic or something.
Adam Abuamouneh i see what you mean but even the manly style of part 1 - 3 a lot of charaters have massive similaritys but i understand i really like the epic manly style as well
Adam Abuamouneh Yeah the faces in Araki's new style have lots of similarities, but they look still beatiful. Also body proportions look more natural than before. And part 7 has beatiful landscapes.
Man, I'm so glad I found this video. Something you said, "you need to get the basics down before you add your own flare" really speaks volumes to me. I stopped drawing my so-so self-taught stuff earlier this week in order to focus on my fundamentals. I was very hesitant about the decision but after what you've said I know I'm on the right path. It feels good knowing I made the right call like I did, but it feels better when another, successful artist reassures my decision.
my all time favorite style is the mob psycho/ one punch man style. honestly these anime/manga/comic are some of my favorites and the artstyle has such a charm
and point of confidence to people developing their own styles: take pride in what you do. remember kubo 's page 1 work is diff to oda's is diff yo togashis, kishimitos, akiras etc. just think about what they thought about when they started. they didn't care about making their work look "cool" or like the big shonens at the time. they simply drew charactwrs in the manner THEY wanted to, and did it over and over again. so like Whyt says do something original, to you. if it looks like something no one cares just be proud of it! and continue, it WILL evolve. the big shonens page 1 work look so diff to how they look now. so do the work, make ur style and let it evolve. ur idols didn't care about other people's piece of work OR other opinions on their work, they just kept their head down and grafted away. any of you serious about manga I suggest you do the same. trust yourself
I like hat altough your characters contrast in colors, they compliment each other and it never got to look awkward...always fun and its really godd to see.
I been drawing since I was 5 years old. I learned how to draw myself just by looking a tv and drawing things. You are giving some great tips. Some artist that seen my work. Think I should draw manga characters with I like.
My fav art styles are Tite kubo and masashi kishimoto (I get a feeling that people are starting to like his style less and less like idk 😐 I still really like it tho) hiro Mashima, Oda, sui ishida and isayama are also my favs.
I wish you nothing but the best of luck to your amazing series. I also want to say thank you so much for your videos that help me with my journey. I want to make animations for youtube. Skits, actually stories and even parodies of relevant things that happen in anime! I'm working hard to get better at drawing so I can animate. I know the only way ill get there is practicing and learning from people with more experience. So thank you so much for your advice and content! :)
I can tell you really love bleach I love the way tite kubo draws his characters and I love your twist on the characters as well. I'm trying to develop a similar style
You give just a lotta insights on comics and drawing which is precisely what I need so thank you so much for starting this channel🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜 lots of love from india
As someone who is currently working his butt off to set his style in stone, this was helpful. It gave me some ideas and just reminded me of the point of a style, thanks as always Whyt Manga!
i dont even know what my style is, but i can tell you styles i like kill la kill, soul eater, cowboy bebop, dragon ball, hellsing durarara, kimi ni todoke ... there's several styles that look super dope
Style is pretty much someone's interpretation of reallity. I know style has pretty much no rules, and doesn't have to follow rules of realism that make sense, BUT...style is made for appeal....and i found that, other people often find what makes sense the most appealing....so in the end, it doesn't have to be realistic, but follow rules of anatomy and such.
There is a manga called hitogatana. He has such a unique and simplified style. It is dark and gorgeous but I cannot find more work from him. I suggest you check him out.
I am currently watching the anime Bakuman, firstly have you seen it? And secondly, do you think it is accurate in it's description of the manga production process?
In the tv show adam ruin's everything, in the art episode he talked about in the old day's artist took element's from the artist they like and created their own "remix".
I have a problem. I'm good at drawing when the picture is right next to me but when I try to freestyle draw it it doesn't come out as good as when I have the picture. Do you have any pointers for me that can help me out
The best artists for me are Takeshi Obata,Hiromu Arakawa, Takehiko Inoue, and Yusuke Murata.Next month, I'm gonna stock up on Hikaru no Go and Hero Tales.I also loathe the fact that I have to wait until Jan. to get the fourth volume of One Punch-Man and Feb. to get Gakkyu Hotei. ;-;
The Lunix Gamer X Actually, I'm reading the first volume right now since my order of manga came.People say it starts out pretty slow until it hits volume 3,but I'm pretty into it now.I just hope Puck doesn't die on meh.I hope you'll keep striving for that dream to prevail one day!
Well, that's a relief.Puck is a cool little dude.Hate that he had to witness the deaths of two certain characters that he temporarily rode with in a carriage. There's gonna be a new anime for Berserk next year?I'm gonna have a hell of a year then!Sadly, I don't have a DeviantArt.I will eventually indulge myself in it once I get a scanner and a printer.
whytmanga, i want to ask something really important. the other day i watch video of other youtuber mangaka. she make video about how to develop your style just like this video. but she said something that's bother me, and that is "do not copy of any other artist because that's stealing and that is horrible thing to do!" and she said something abut that copy someone style can effect their paycheck or something. for me that is total nonesense. for me the best way to develop your style is to copy all your favorite artist styles. and by an artist i mean a lot of artist! that way you can make something that your really like. what do you think dude??
you know what I think..lol..copy artists isn't completely accurate, I say copy with the intent to study it and develop your own, so study several artist you like and learn from them, sometimes, you learn from copying so I don't agree with not copying, I just do not advise in copying and claiming the style or art like its yours. theres a fine line.
draw the same drawin multiple times, memorize it in your head then draw the the picture multiple times again without looking at the original drawing, do this multiple times and look at the original one after you finish, if you see a difference over time, that right there is your artstyle, do this with multiple different drawings and you develop your artsyle more and more, that is how i did it. although there might be more time effecient ways.
You really shouldn't copy someones art though, I mean it's fine to copy someone if your still a beginner, but if your no longer a beginner anymore. You should start looking for your own art style, I used to copy Yoshihiro Togashi's Art Style(Author of hunterxhunter) but then I realized that copying someone doesn't make you comfortable, so I keep on improving until I find my own
Can you make a video on how to make an anime character in general, plz, I really need help with the shape of the head, the hands (like the fingers and stuff,) and the clothes... if you'd make a vid on these 3 stuff I would really appreciate it, thx. 😁😁😁
i have a question, i love the anime art styles, i love drawing them too. but i am not sure if i should draw that or draw from life or realistic pictures. im already quite good at realistic drawings and i really would love to draw more anime style... what should i do in your opinion?
Hey whyt manga can I improve my style by sketching in primitives, I mean by shaping a human body from cilinders ect ect. I actually tried to draw gesture and then the form so is it worth to go foward with that ?
+tweet Your opinion doesn't make sense. It's one thing to say that you don't like DBZ, it's another thing to argue against facts. DBZ IS an anime. This isn't up to debate.

all your tutorial is great, but still i dont know how to mastering / find my style to draw, i apologize in advance but your style was similar to tite kubo/ bleach style. how do you mastering it?? i like naruto style but i dont know how to mastering this style. any sugestion how to i practice or to mastering style?? i want to become a mangaka like you :D
I like your videos. your experience and advice is very valuable! Can I suggest shrinking down the length of your videos? Sometimes it sounds like your rambling and it causes me to tune out.
Not to be rude or anything, but do you notice the similarities between your style and Tite Kubo's? As you said in your video, an art style can be similar to another, but can be unique in their own way.
I can tell Whyt's clearly felt the need to address the bleach comparisons point. it was briefly mentioned but it definetely was a big reason behind this vid if not the reason his older style, mannerism of eyes, nose, lips, have been reminiscent of that of kubo's work, and you still see the echos in his work today. Nevertheless his style HAS changed and it has become more unique to Whyt. I agree with the other person, this video jumps around on topic abit too much for its title and again I expected it because I knew his main point was on the differences between styles, and that's what justified his work in particular. He is right however, style isn't just how you draw facial features. & he's an accomplished boy who's clearly done the work and got to where he wanted to be, those who are quick to bash and say it's a rip off (cos that's diff to saying you've got influence Whyt, you should know that) those who say rip off are small intimidated rivals. YES it's good to be a pioneer and innovative with your work, I say that's what makes certain artists great, cos it isn't easy. some other guys look at styles and simply tweak and make a version of their own which is okay as long as it's unique and recognisable as your work. Just thought I'd address this because I know exactly why Whyt posted this vid, it's almost a continuation of the rip off vid he made ages ago but this time about his style and it's comparisons. you'll see proof in the next vid when he puts the bleach picture next to his to make his point. to say he wasn't influenced even now is false, but his style ISN'T kubo's style, it's definitely something I recognise as his, especially the manner in which he draws females and his ink style, totally diff to kubo. Oh and for those who wana know kubo has an assistant who he's actually taken from massively and changed his art style slightly because of his preference of his partners style over his own. all styles change over time, they evolve and that's what's happening to Whyt right now.
+Sugar Ray Robinson When you like someones artstyle from a mangaka and you want to draw just like it will it alter overtime but leave behind remnants of it?
+Daniel Rigg it will change over time very slightly, you will always have remnants especially if you went out your way to learn that style. whyt is a good example, he was inspired by the kubo style, he now has deviated abit to make it his own nevertheless there remains some uncanny /identical similarities, shading techniques, noses/certain facial features, text style etc. people will always be able to tell so it's your choice Whethwr you wana start from scratch or take from another and branch out
+Daniel Rigg nop, I hear the mangaka for fairy tail was one of the team of artist assistants in oda's (one piece mangaka) team? which probably exolains similarities. That's the only example I know, but even in that case it isn't things he's copy pasted, it's just inspiration in how he draws his OWN work. you want to be a powerful trademark in your style. I would assume (although don't take my word for it) that it's frowned upon. imagine you intend to portray your own universe and the beings in your world look half like beings in another man's world? and if you hit it big time: and got a contract that allowed your work to be animated, and it was a big time hit and they somehow did a crossover and you had characters that have certain identical similarities it wouldn't look too good on your part, at least in my opinion, and I'm not talking similar looking chars like glasses or red hair or whatever I mean actual things you've taken from that show and used in your work. Not really professional y'know? I know the mangaka from that new fireman manga is the guy who's done soul eater. but that's okay because it's the same guy it's not only HIS style it's his DISTINCT style for me I want people to look at my work and to that's 'robinson's' work! I don't want people telling me this looks like that and this. Have fun drawing my friend. That's the main thing.
Another thing I like to ask you,how do you conform to japanese drawing, coloring and inking style because I saw the difference of how non japanese do it and its nothing like how japanese do?
I never knew I can draw every anime I see (But with references) im like 12 I learned how to draw when I was 3 (And All I drew that time was birds and dinos) and I dont have a style I just need a reference......Im not trying to say that I'm good but Is Not having a style good?? :(
I really like a weird or realistic style and unique like soul eater or one punch man
like Kaiba [Anime Series]
Same
jojo
Neither of those are realistic or unique.
i really like One Punch Man's art style, its cool
I love the art styles where the characters are very plain and cartoonish most of the time, but get very realistically detailed when they are troubled.
me too! like Soul eater :D
+Ardashes Najarian, yeah, and one punch man as well. They do this a lot since the main character has the simplest face in the show. While everyone else looks like they are from a "serious" anime
oh well, one punch man is just amazing art style alone haha especialy the manga
One Piece does this, but no where near as detailed
Great Teacher Onizuka
Get pointers and tips from experiences on how to develop your art style! What do you guys think?
I have a question about Saturday am. How would I be able to join it?
+Whyt Manga Are you ever gonna fix your audio? i don't wanna be a dick but it's getting tiring to have to adjust my settings for your videos and then adjust them back to normal after.
+UnhappyThoughts Yes. When a good mic can be afforded, it will be purchased.
why don't you just use your editing software to make the audio mono? I'm just being picky, i enjoy your videos either way. Thanks for uploading.
Bruh, FUCK THAT NOISE! Go back to your drawing. You may discover a hidden storyline for a Manga in the future....or Right Now.
im left handed too..and my passion is drawing (more to anime). You should draw again and forget the naysayers. Why would they make fun of you? They must be jealous that you could draw and they cant
megaman exe
That's sad man, if you kept drawing you'd probably be a god by now...
His bank literally called him because they were worried he was involved with some wire fraud.....
That third one's straight up Goku. No debate.
yeah, Akira Toriyama. And the 1st one on the 2nd tile is from Saint Seiya (Masami Kurumada).
Not trying to be rude, but this video sidetracked on topics every other minute. By the end I was just confused. Not saying what you were telling us was wrong, but maybe try a shorter script or stay on topic or something.
+Bobber WCC how dare you.....!
Bobber WCC I
Yeah and I expected more visual cues when mostly it stays on the same pic
malcolm z he was stating his opinion, just because you don’t agree you can just rebuttal and use your opinion👌
@@frytoes That comment is from 4 years ago. Also i think they were joking lmao
I SAW FIRE FIST ACE, AND I HAD TO CLICK
Araki' style rules
definetly my favourite as well
Iván Marcelo Gutierrez Ugaz I like his old style, Every face he draws in part 7 & 8 look exactly the same.
His style looks very semi realistic
Man, I'm so glad I found this video. Something you said, "you need to get the basics down before you add your own flare" really speaks volumes to me. I stopped drawing my so-so self-taught stuff earlier this week in order to focus on my fundamentals. I was very hesitant about the decision but after what you've said I know I'm on the right path. It feels good knowing I made the right call like I did, but it feels better when another, successful artist reassures my decision.
while araki is my fav becuase i love jojo so im a bit bias but i love that 80's anime look from like captian harlock as well it looks great
my all time favorite style is the mob psycho/ one punch man style. honestly these anime/manga/comic are some of my favorites and the artstyle has such a charm
My favorite art style is from the One Punch Man webcomic by ONE
watch the anime of mob psyco, you can learn his art style more better
Thanks for this vid, it somehow gave me more confidence on my own style of drawing.
and point of confidence to people developing their own styles:
take pride in what you do.
remember kubo 's page 1 work is diff to oda's is diff yo togashis, kishimitos, akiras etc. just think about what they thought about when they started.
they didn't care about making their work look "cool" or like the big shonens at the time. they simply drew charactwrs in the manner THEY wanted to, and did it over and over again.
so like Whyt says do something original, to you. if it looks like something no one cares just be proud of it! and continue, it WILL evolve.
the big shonens page 1 work look so diff to how they look now. so do the work, make ur style and let it evolve. ur idols didn't care about other people's piece of work OR other opinions on their work, they just kept their head down and grafted away.
any of you serious about manga I suggest you do the same. trust yourself
Oh man, your speech really cleared some things up for me. Thank you so much 😁
Good advice
I really like the simple styles, like one piece, astro boy, naruto. I also like DBZ's style.
Also Fullmetal is also great
I like hat altough your characters contrast in colors, they compliment each other and it never got to look awkward...always fun and its really godd to see.
Onepiece is amazing, glad you chose ace

Draw what you like and keep on drawing. No matter what, your art will improve as you further your skills.
Great video. You've like made your own art journalism.
The art style in Berserk develops a helluva ton thru the years
As someone who is currently working his butt off to set his style in stone, this was helpful. It gave me some ideas and just reminded me of the point of a style, thanks as always Whyt Manga!

Thanks for the video man! It really helped me out.
(everythings a remix )is a good example of this as while. Its a documentary showing how directors of different medias use references of all kind.
Out of all the manga I read, I still think Slam Dunk style (Manga) was my favorite.
+RikaRieGaming I know. That manga is intense, and very expressive. I love all the characters. :D
One piece style is really appealing to me, because it's so simple yet so convincing.
Animeboy74 Oh I agree, one Piece was the 2nd one on my list

Thank you for including females! When I was a little girl I LOVED ShowenJump! It was my favorite thing in the world after comics and Halo lol.
I love your channel so much

How you doing 4 years later ?
I'm a big fan of Yasuhiro nightow's style with the long faces.
I got inspiration from movies, shows, books, anime, and cartoons and study how they do characters, back stories, world building, etc.
In the tv show adam ruin's everything, in the art episode he talked about in the old day's artist took element's from the artist they like and created their own "remix".

I am grateful for the wisdom.
I swear if you kept strawberry black i wouldn't take the manga seriously 😂😂😂 but thanks for the help

Yes omg Thx for this

I want to learn to draw anything and everything.
I love My Hero Academia and Attack On Titan art style.

Oooh vinland saga and opm has such a cool art style I do want to develop a style similar to that its difficult but still worth it
Ace litterally looks like hol horse in araki's drawing
Hey whyt manga can I improve my style by sketching in primitives, I mean by shaping a human body from cilinders ect ect. I actually tried to draw gesture and then the form so is it worth to go foward with that ?
JoJo Ace is lookin finnneeeeee 👀😍
Dragon Ball Z has always been my favorite art style, that is the foundation of my own art style
***** How, its a great anime and if that's the ase One Piece shouldn't be considered an Anime either
+tweet Your opinion doesn't make sense. It's one thing to say that you don't like DBZ, it's another thing to argue against facts. DBZ IS an anime. This isn't up to debate.

I like your videos. your experience and advice is very valuable! Can I suggest shrinking down the length of your videos? Sometimes it sounds like your rambling and it causes me to tune out.
Cool dude !
I like berserks style and fist of the North Star
I have mixture of sailor moon, Avatar the last air bender, dragon ball/z, art style preference...
I like the art style of Yuri on Ice, but I'm not gonna copy it since I have my own way of developing my art style
do you have or can u perform a tutorial on cover pages
I want to draw in a style like Tokyo revengers or something like that .
Not to be rude or anything, but do you notice the similarities between your style and Tite Kubo's? As you said in your video, an art style can be similar to another, but can be unique in their own way.
question for you 1st off dope vids bro appreciate it now question how did you come up with your title ??
I can tell Whyt's clearly felt the need to address the bleach comparisons point. it was briefly mentioned but it definetely was a big reason behind this vid if not the reason
his older style, mannerism of eyes, nose, lips, have been reminiscent of that of kubo's work, and you still see the echos in his work today.
Just thought I'd address this because I know exactly why Whyt posted this vid, it's almost a continuation of the rip off vid he made ages ago but this time about his style and it's comparisons.
you'll see proof in the next vid when he puts the bleach picture next to his to make his point.
to say he wasn't influenced even now is false, but his style ISN'T kubo's style,
it's definitely something I recognise as his, especially the manner in which he draws females and his ink style, totally diff to kubo.
+Daniel Rigg it will change over time very slightly, you will always have remnants especially if you went out your way to learn that style.
whyt is a good example, he was inspired by the kubo style, he now has deviated abit to make it his own nevertheless there remains some uncanny /identical similarities, shading techniques, noses/certain facial features, text style etc.
people will always be able to tell so it's your choice Whethwr you wana start from scratch or take from another and branch out
Do you any japanese mangakas who attempted to copy other mangakas artstyles but altered it and left remants of it?
+Daniel Rigg nop, I hear the mangaka for fairy tail was one of the team of artist assistants in oda's (one piece mangaka) team?
which probably exolains similarities. That's the only example I know, but even in that case it isn't things he's copy pasted, it's just inspiration in how he draws his OWN work.
you want to be a powerful trademark in your style.
I would assume (although don't take my word for it) that it's frowned upon. imagine you intend to portray your own universe and the beings in your world look half like beings in another man's world?
and if you hit it big time: and got a contract that allowed your work to be animated, and it was a big time hit and they somehow did a crossover and you had characters that have certain identical similarities
it wouldn't look too good on your part, at least in my opinion, and I'm not talking similar looking chars like glasses or red hair or whatever I mean actual things you've taken from that show and used in your work. Not really professional y'know?
I know the mangaka from that new fireman manga is the guy who's done soul eater. but that's okay because it's the same guy it's not only HIS style it's his DISTINCT style
for me I want people to look at my work and to that's 'robinson's' work! I don't want people telling me this looks like that and this.
Have fun drawing my friend. That's the main thing.
Another thing I like to ask you,how do you conform to japanese drawing, coloring and inking style because I saw the difference of how non japanese do it and its nothing like how japanese do?
I mean, mine always looks bad, is that considered an art style?
I never knew I can draw every anime I see (But with references) im like 12 I learned how to draw when I was 3 (And All I drew that time was birds and dinos) and I dont have a style I just need a reference......Im not trying to say that I'm good but Is Not having a style good?? :(
Can you draw anything? What can you draw better than others?
I would like to put my drawings and characters into a series or movies or video game. I like comics too.
I want a anime like art style
I try to draw everyday. I'm get better a drawing people and characters a little bit. I need to get into scenery. Houses, cars, buildings and animals.
If somebody can please tell me the series where each of the art styles from the picture come from that would be great
