For God sake, can everyone he shut up about the fact this piece was written for piano and how it ‘doesn’t sound natural on a guitar’ because this man has gone through the effort and dedicated time to translating it and writing an arrangement for guitar and he has done a lovely, very impressive job. Some people are so rude it’s ridiculous.
Well said Eddie. Some people are experts at judging other people's work, and they generally don't leave much else behind them but empty words and sterile opinions. I value the creative effort put by Viktor into this piece a million times more than the input of those people. Transcriptions like these push the boundaries of the guitar, and we need musicians to explore the possibilities of the instrument, not deter it. I will always encourage efforts that go in that direction. And, for what it's worth, I greatly enjoyed this transcription. Well done Mr. Vidović !
As a pianist who's actually trying to learn the piece, by god is it hard. This man is seriously talented and God the arrangement fits the guitar so well
I am learning this piece as well. So in love with it. I often want to cry even practicing it. Every note is utterly beautiful. Chopin is my number one idol! Hands down.
Relatable, it's the most difficult piano piece I've tried to learn. The first G minor section is starting to sink in, where I'm getting trouble is at the waltz part onwards where it's fast. As a novice at acoustic guitar however it's very cool seeing this video!
He translated a song written for a 88 keys instrument with 240 strings into "some" 6 strings guitar, I gotta say, as pianist, this guy is something else! GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
Every string has around 20 frets which are like Keys, plus additional Natural/Artificial Harmonic sounds can be made on them meaning over 100 "Keys" can be played on guitar minimum and in different styles, muting, vibrato, pizzicato, and tremolo.
@@sebastianzielinski8251 muting on piano=letting go of key. pizzicato on piano=playing note and instantly letting go. tremolo on piano=playing one note very fast.
What a great discovery. I've known this piece for 70 years and never imagined that such a detailed and accurate transcription was remotely possible. It sounds like it was actually written for the guitar, all of Chopin's is there. Of course, I had to listen to the performance a few more times to immerse myself in the full beauty. This version of the Ballade is a real keeper, it's a genuine jewel. Thank you for playing for us.
very good performance and arrangement. after 10:03 the passage prepares us to the coda. listen 10:03 with 1x25 speed. it becomes the perfect arrangement.
@@amshelvanklergoldsmith1290 this is a great arrangement, however, nowhere near how good it can get. a flamenco guitarist will probably play it much smoother in my opinion, since we have techniques that fit this piece of music.
Can people stop arguing about the fact that it's harder to play this on guitar or on piano? Both are hard asf to master, they're two completly different instruments that can't be compared. Let's just enjoy this arrangement instead...
I listened to this piece in its entirety after my mid day lunch. As I slumped in my chair and slipped into a food coma I was wafted adrift by the sound of a guitar giving full testimony to the circumstances of a case left unresolved beyond living memory.
As someone with a background in classical guitar, I can only say that this is extremely impressive. The arrangement is gorgeous and Vidovic's tone is absolutely beautiful. There are quite a few technical flubs but that's not from any lack of skill (I mean, WOW) but rather the difficulty of the piece. Piano music is notoriously difficult to arrange for guitar but Vidovic does an outstanding job. I'll be sharing this with my friends. Bravo!
Insane musicianship! Every pianist learning this piece can learn a great deal from your rendition. Almost all the spots where you naturally need to take the time to shift hand position, the spaces you make there perfectly highlight the dramatic moments of the piece, which is how the music should be played. However as pianists it is so easy to play jumps on a keyboard, we often overlook the drama behind those jumps and don't take enough time to highlight them! Moreover, the vibratos you place on certain melody notes really give me chills and help me see the beauty of them in the melody line, which is what we simply cannot do on a piano. Also, I think for audience new to classical music, this slowed-down yet melodically beautiful rendition helps audience to hear every note in the melody and understand the significance of every note!
I think this may be the greatest thing I have ever witnessed. A reason for the human race to continue. Being familiar with this piano piece and also the classical guitar, I cannot begin to imagine the amount of skill, artistry, and commitment this endeavor required. Simply bravo.
This arrangement is an expression of love and veneration for Chopin's great work, the G-minor ballad, which we know as the first pinnacle of the mature Chopin's way of thinking music. I love this guitar rendition. There are now some astonishing rendering of the crown jewels of classical music as arrangements for guitar solo - and for guitar duetto - showing how much this little instrument can do. Try them out, I love them all.
He was even brave enough to play the coda Simply amazing, not only does it show a wonderful technique to play such a piece on a guitar but there is also true musicality that has been transcripted too
No encuentro palabras para describir su talento, es la mejor interpretacion en guitarra que he visto, en hora buena maestro felicidades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant believe how good the coda part was I was honestly expecting something slower but great job in my opinion one of the hardest sections of the piece
Once in a while some performances will take your breathe away and this has gotta be one of those that triumphs all respective human achievements and collectively leaves you in awe. Keep pushing the boundaries! This is out of this world. Definitely the first ever arrangement and performance of this masterpiece from Chopin on the guitar.
This video deserves a +100 million seen. I don't like some parts of it on guitar but I think you are the only one who has managed to make an arrangement on guitar because I couldn't find any others. Bravo. Thank you so much for this work

Eddie Hutchence It sounds beautiful in guitar too!! It’s a beautiful piece in general but sounds very nice this way too.
It's amazing on guitar...and it's one of my favorite piano works. Has a serenade quality.
Hugh Jardon I think it still sounds good, but I don’t have much guitar experience to be a good judge
I couldn't agree more!

But in guitar its can be more hard
