They had me at “Katech Motor”
The LT1 427 build is absolutely insane
They had me at retro Motorweek!
They just had me.
They just had
Just had
Oh man, I forgot about this one! Pratt and Miller definitely believed in the "No replacement for displacement" moto. Plus, this is my favorite generation of Corvette.
For 09, that thing was hella fast! And slammed too! 😄Sweet Car!
Not really slammed, it's just a racing suspension setup
@@alexpetree2038and it’s body kit is pretty low too. Definitely not slammed just race suspension with body kit
Nice cobra
I remember reading about this car in R&T.
These retro reviews been 🔥 lately
Always have been
Jay Leno still has his.
The one video I really wish Jay put the hammer down but he couldn't due to it being on ancient tires.
Jay leno still has his 4th grade lunch money. That man is a true legend 😂.
If I had Lenos money I'd be just like him and have a warehouse full of cool cars...love that dude-true car guy!
First time I've heard of a "blueprinted transmission"
Holy shitake mushrooms. I knew nothing about this Vette prior to this video. What a beast!
ya noob. Jay Leno has a black one
I'm a Japanese Corvette fan. Thank you for uploading your past reviews of valuable car models. I thought the image quality had improved as well. Thank you very much!
I feel old…2009 is considered “retro.” I loved the C6, Pratt and Miller really made it faster! It’s the last Corvette with rounded taillights.
I don't lust after your typical magazine cars. This definitely fits my lust criteria
I remember the Smoking Tire UA-cam channel did a review of this car back in 2011 grate car
Great
@@speeddemon311been following Matt since his early Tuned days. Jay Leno's Garage is a must for anyone that loves cars in general, especially the rare/uncommon ones
Theres a yellow one for sale now for $300k lol
Lol it definitely aint worth $300k, the seller is on crack
Brilliant!!!!!! Simply brilliant!!!!!!!!
Why aren’t more people talking about these cars , instead talking about mustangs !!!!! This car was even more impressive than anything around these days !!!! 👌👌👍👍
People that can afford these buy a Porsche
Those that can't afford buy a Mustang
This car, number 006 was listed on Bring A Trailer auction in 2020 bid to $102,500 but RNM.
Oh man... I'd give my left nut to own one of these! I remember the first time and the ONLY time I saw one in person and that was at SEMA back in 2007. I still have the photos I took of it on one of my SD cards. Now THIS would be something pretty awesome to arrive in at a Cars & Coffee event because it's highly, HIGHLY unlikely you'll run into anyone else with one since there were only 7 of these built.
Beautiful corvette and love the sound of it!
The ZR-1 was a beast but I love the look and exclusivity of this build. The Saleen S7 was another crazy build from that year. I really love how many of the customizers released stupid fast factory backed upgrades. LPE had a sweet Vette as well.
Best corvette ever made
What a stroll down nostalgia lane.. I remember I brought a magazine over to my dad's house trying to convince him that he need to buy one of these to preserve my inheritance vs CDs and Bonds
This might be my ultimate dream Vette
Tuner Vettes are so chill.
Imagine having this at 2009 , a car that should fall in love
Very nice this Vette
My favorite corvette
This car is awesome
That monster still beautiful!
Saw one of these at local car show once, unreal. Would give my left one for this thing.
That’s sick me and my dad lover watching the retro videos
$140,000 plus a C6 Z06. This was worth every penny, holy crap.
I wrote an essay on this car in middle school 😂😂😂 well we had a project and I decided to do a car magazine and I was basically dumping on Ford and Ferrari and talking about how much better Chevy was 😂
Jay Leno has one
Best Looking Corvette
I've never heard of this car, crazy. I know about Z06, ZR1, and other third party tuners.
Somehow this one flew right past me.
That's a wild beast
Beautiful
That color looks crazy dope I wonder if it’s the same mystic teal color in the Camaros
What a beast!
I would drive it. Love the wide body look.
Good god, what a menacing machine...
i saw a yellow one this year
Besides the C2, (especially the '63), the C6 is objectively the best looking Corvette of all time.
I have a soft spot for the c3 from the 70s. They were awful cars but I liked the lines. I would love a c5 z06.
C6 has the best side profile imo
@@bmstylee early C3s looked outstanding, classic Coke bottle lines; the rubber bumper cars started getting a little awkward looking, and the last C3s looked almost cartoonish with the long front end, bubbly rear hatch and slumped rear bumper. That said, the '78 Indy 500 Pace Car edition looked pretty good, the rear spoiler and ground effects gave it a similar profile to the early C3s and really tightened it up.
C5 Z06 is probably dollar for dollar the best performance car bargain you can get these days. They're about as cheap as they're ever going to get, like the C4, I think the C5 is getting appreciated more and the market will start reflecting it.
@@jaydee9086 absolutely. It is everything that makes Corvettes great.
I love the c5 body.
Damn what a beast.
Thats a nice colour. 😎
Damn what a good car
Fucking beautiful.
Is that the Cadillac 500 cube monster?
I just found a lister corvette on car gurus lol funny timing
I would take this over a ZR-1 anyday
Lol
ZR1 much more streetable, reliable and comfortable.
Left foot braking must be necessary with such power!
It's pretty good. But personally the only Corvette that I really want is a C3 or C8. Although I would take any of them.
Blue Streak
Anybody else been watching this show since the early 90s?
Late 80's , hell yeah 👍🏽
I started watching Motorweek in 2002. I read about it in car magazines when I was younger.
345’s gawd damn
Definitely wide boiz.
Expensive burnouts.
Did a quick google search on these cars and one with this same pain scheme sold for $102K in 2020. Could have been the exact car from this video for all we know
8.2l? Whew! Last time I saw a production 8.2l was in my '76 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. And the Caddy definitely wasn't putting out 600lb/ft of torque.
Wow!
Badass as this car is, I find myself actively trying to remember this car was built 15yr ago because, by today's standards, 500ci with 600hp/tq is kinda... Well, I don't wanna say disappointing, but...
4:25 Composite leaf springs?
No shit! Vette track guys yank those for coilovers.
600hp na, nice
Back when 600 HP was considered a lot. regardless if it was na or boosted. How times have changed.
600 horsepower is still considered a lot!!@@bmstylee
600hp on purpose. You think they didn't have 2000hp LS motors in 2009??
Brembos linked to your left foot? It's a manual! Left foot is for the clutch
Left foot braking is a technique commonly used by racing drivers.
Cool
Did I somehow miss the Quarter Mile Time? I did get the 0 - 60.
For the total package of $200,000 with the 8.2 L supercharged and 750 hp?!
That is the highest cost of a Corvette I've ever heard. That's like in super car territory.
Built by an actual race company. And for the time, it was a supercar.
Coolest c6 that exists
How many were made?
According to the companies website there were 7.
Wow 🤩
My neighbor has a C6 with Corsa exhaust -- so obnoxiously raspy and loud that it doesn't sound remotely good.
So is it a BB or...
8.2 liter?
Yeah. 500 cubic inches.
Peak Corvette.
Damn Bad Ass
How did they only make 600 a horsepower out of an 8 L but the C6 R used a 5.5
Is it really a Retro Review if the exact same video is still on MW's YT account, submitted when it was a "new" review?
Briggs and Stratton
On my lord
Woah
My favorite Corvette ever.
👏👏
The “S” should stand for “Sonic”.
❤i would love to get sponsors to suit up mi toyota yaris 1.5
No quarter mile time?
I would guess 11-11,5s.
right , a corvette should still look like a corvette , not like a Ferrari , ❤️ a c6 owner
😍😍
Would like to see the retro review of mk2 prius
So silly looking at this now lol
no left foot braking js….
250k when they were new
Honestly I was expecting more from an 8.2 liter, considering a heads/cam/intake LS7 makes over 600whp.
Still, what a car.
Heads and cam make that now, not 15 years ago, those heads and cam cars don't have a warranty either
It's a track car, not drag car.
600whp reliably lap after lap
ZR1 is better but this is cool.
If only I were rich...❤
Only ever made 7.
600/600 is actually not very impressive. It really needs a supercharger...
2009 though
@@pegcity4eva base ZO6 this was based on was 500 HP already, that's why I thought it seemed low...
Bad mofo right here 🇺🇸
Didn't the regular 2009 do 3.5 sec what's special about this one besides the name?
The engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, the single centre nutwheel hub, etc etc. customer made to order. Like a three piece suit.
@kevinW826 Still loses in the drag race and that's what counts 😬
@@peterbennett4124doesn’t matter. It’s still a cool car
@kevinW826 Hands down would rather have a 70 Chevelle SS. Black with Red racing stripes.
That’s a motor that needs boost…
Wow, that thing was expensive
Not a fan of Corsa exhaust. B&B exhaust and Corvettes are a match made in heaven
Only 600hp, lol
You would bring 2000hp to a track?
@@jaydee9086 Who said anything as outlandish as 2000hp? I was just expecting 700 or so.
@@DizzyMan24 Sure.
Ridiculous price…for a Chevrolet even a vette. No way …almost 200k. For that buy a Porsche or a cheap Ferrari and appreciation in value. No way. No wonder why no one bought them. And chevy went bankrupt.
