I remember my late mother saying about sudden disappearance of 3 persons ( living next doors) in my child hood. She even told me that Bose lived in Russian jail and our ambassador knew about it and nothing happened.

I am huge huge admirer of Netaji but I dont agree to these conspiracy theories. Growing up in the early 1980s in a remote part of India, I used to hoist the national flag with the portrait of Netaji on a decorated chair beneath it on Jan. 23 for years like thousands of others. Being the central person (officially as the authors and anchor say) is a matter of debate - Bindusara was a more judicious and efficient ruler than Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka, and yet hardly anyone realises it; Netaji himself would have a support system who were hardly applauded and recognised as much as he was the central focus of INA; Rash Behari Bose did not get the credit for INA as much as Netaji got in India. Sardar Patel got more credit than many other freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country - Patel at least became the Home Minister; Did Patel ever fight for the descendants of Rani Laxmibhai or other freedom fighters who lost their lives in 1857. My point is - stop pointing fingers at those who got more lucky than others in life. This is a vicious cycle and we will end up tainting each and every person we idolise. Not to forget that Netaji chose the wrong partner - dont forget that he was the biggest enemy of the Allies on the Eastern Front; as a leader of the country wasnt it his responsibility to choose the right partner for India and not land up on the side of those who were tainted as "fascists". If you read the books written by other INA members, it was clear that the Japs tortured the Indian soldiers caught in the Battle of Malay whereas British officers were treated rather well in the prisoners camp. Wasnt Netaji aware of the bias that Japs had against Indians. There is no end to scrutinising each and every action of public figures and slandering them. I adore all the national leaders who fought for India's Independence - it doesnt matter whether Netaji was not decorated officially and Pandit Ji was the PM - we celebrated Nov. 14 as Children's Day in the memory of Nehru Ji's birth anniversary but hoisted the National Flag with Netaji's photograph adorning a decorated chair on Jan. 23. Both are loved. Please do not fuel parochial interests by playing one icon against the other.
With due respect to you personal love for all public figures; please don’t accuse Subhas Bose of choosing ‘wrong side’. This is the narrative of the wrong people of this country. Being captivated by British for almost 200 years(in 1937-45 timeframe), are you saying we Indians should have fully supported British and jump happily in WW2 and that would have been the ‘right side’?!! Yes, you can think in that way sitting at 1940 iff you are a ‘politician’; but you can’t think in that way if you are a ‘patriot’. No, sitting in 2024, in hindsight, it’s easy to say losers side must be a wrong side. Netaji himself was not fascist, he would not have turned another Hitler or Musolini of India having the first PM/Prez type role( assuming). Beggars don’t have much choices. You have nothing in your hand to offer (in return), nothing to burgeon; Subhas bose took the mammoths task to get help from Axis countries in that kind of situation. He had to keep his eyes ears close for sometimes for greater cause. Atleast he didn’t sit idle to ‘think’ who is right side vs wrong side… he could have easily licked Gandhi’a boot a bit and THORASA COMPROMISE …. he would have been positioned himself in congress party with second/third man anytime any day… let the fuck freedom fight go to hell, AAJ NEHI TOH KAAL HOGA SWADHI , MERA KEYA!! …. Did you eve see him in that kind of attitude since his age if 22-30 when he started active politics? So please don’t convinced about such nonsense arguments. It’s the arguments of the then lazy/opportunist/timid leaders.😊 Now, being a countryman if you still really think that Yes, KEYA PATAH, Netaji could have turned a tyrant king…..then better he understood his average countrymen later and never came out in public😢
@@jdip81 Of course I am suggesting that we should have offered support to the Allies on "principles" because Hitler had an agenda which went completely out of control. Anyone could have seen it in 1933-36. Netaji was absolutely wrong in his judgement to ally with Japan and Germany. Hasnt the result of WW II proved him hugely wrong. What is wrong in disagreeing with a wise and selfless person who acted in the interest of India? He was proven wrong: had India sided with him; entire India would have been attacked and punished at the Nuremberg trials. It is important for leaders to choose the right course of direction at the crossroads - thats why they are leaders. Colonists or not, there was no harm in supporting the Allies' efforts during WWII - whether you agree or not the entire world takes a righteous stand against Hitler, and more so, Japan and Germany theselves accepted the "fascists" tone of their national ambition which became a reason for their downfall. And to add to your backhanded comment - that I admire all the public figures; its incorrect. I said I admire all the freedom fighters who contributed to India's Independence. Its important to acknowledge that they were human - Mahatma Gandhiji, Sardar Patelji, Pandit Ji, Netaji - they also had their failings. Why target just the Mahatma for being hailed as the 'Father of the Nation' and Nehru ji for becoming the first PM?
Nehru was from a rich family, he was true patriot like Bose, he donated his own inherited wealth to nation, Nehru was not interested in power, but protecting India and work for progress of India. Bose loved Nehru so much that he named one of his battalion as 'Nehru Battalion' About snooping, the British before leaving India created a small team within IB which would track for Bose and they were snooping on Bose's family If there was something fishy and Nehru was indeed involved in Bose disappearance or death, Modi govt would have declassified it phases to win elections instead of using Adani's money or EVM to win elections. When Modi declassified some files, it exposed true love between Bose & Nehru. Nehru funded Bose's secret kids out of his personal money. Even Bose's daughter has rubbished any involvement of Nehru in Bose's episode of disappearance or death. Chandrachur and Anuj have made millions using Bose and selling imaginary stories to foolish Indians. Bose was 10x more secular man, he would have roasted Right WIng and fed them to crows. Bose was not against Nehru but he was more militant type of Nehru. Jai Nehru Jai Congress Jai Bose
