  • Yes this is sketchy, I made the 'jig' out of 2x6's and a piece of plywood. It works well and I have used this method a few times to correct the level after a big rain or some settling. Hope this help you.

    Nothing more satisfying than hearing a dad giving his kid directions and the kid trying to figure it out 😂. Takes me back to my childhood helping my dad. Anyways, this video helped me out, thanks!

    Oh my God I did this exact same thing with my pool and I realized I screwed up and I couldn’t dump out the water or else it would flood the next-door neighbours place and I was looking everywhere on UA-cam. This video helped so much thank you.

    Sketchy is an understatement. The way the jack is positioned is VERY dangerous. The concept is good but the execution is redneck. If the jack goes out of column, it will instantly and violently shoot off to the side, with a good chance of someone getting hurt; the kid having his fingers anywhere near the foot of the leg is asking for it. And if the jack dumps all of a sudden sideways, there is a good chance the leg will collapse under the impulse and possibly dump the entire pool at that point, 6000+ gallons.
    The jack should not be at full extension for the lift; lifting the leg vertically with MUCH less jack extension would make it somewhat safer, but the foundation under the jack is piss poor also.
    I don't want to see anyone get hurt, and most of the comments are people going 'I should do this'...

    • @jameswitt8124
      @jameswitt8124 2 місяці тому

      Actually, it won’t be violent. It’ll slip out but it’s not gonna shoot out the way you think it is based on how it looks in the video..

    I know this is an older video but does anyone know if this method would work to lower poles that are too high on one side? Such as lifting the pole and digging a hole out underneath to let the leg settle down into? As in pool is so unlevel on frame that liner shows several inches higher on one side than the other. Would hate to have to completely drain it now 😢 Thanks.

    • @yolandacorona1844
      @yolandacorona1844 2 місяці тому +1

      I think you need to raise those lower legs up rather than lowering the higher legs. My pool is the same and I think I'm going to get some paver and do this but at the same time I'm thinking about draining it to do it right

    Level it before you fill your pool,the more work you put into making your ground level and well packed with good sand the least amount of problems you will have.Short cuts will always cost you time and money..

  • @phillyhottest
    @phillyhottest Рік тому +2

    Well, you made it look level.... However, you still have a massive slope in the floor of the pool and now you have the force of all that water pushing on the post that is balanced on a rock. What will happen is that the liner will start to walk (or roll) toward the jacked up area causing the other side to cave in. Do not misunderstand. I did this with my pool and it is a good way to bring up one side maybe an inch or two. But you are in no way leveling anything but the top rail.

I was thinking of emptying the pool and leveling the ground but I heard the liner might crack if I empty it. Can you tell me how you did it ? Was it empty completely? We're you able to fill it up again in a day? Any advice would be appreciated

    Pinch points are a thing you know. That was nervous to watch lol.
    My oval 22x12 pool I just put up has a lean towards one of the ends. My debate is wether to level it with a similar method or just drain the damn thing and return it to Costco. Disappointed either way lmao.
