Rick Godwin is somewhat of a celebrity Central Texas/San Antonio mega church pastor. I didn’t know about his connection to Thailand. Cool that he is going to officiate.

I entered thailand with a 60 day tr visa from uk and extended it to 90 days, then did 2 border bounces to get 30 days each and extended those by 30 days, ( this was in the 45 day visa exempt was a thing,. I managed to stay 222 days in all, so David should be able to wing it until your big day hopefully,.

Vietnam requires you to apply for a visa authorization letter before you can receive your e-visa upon arrival. The cost (at the arrival airport) for the e-visa is $25 USD. Getting the actual visa can take 1 to 2 hours. If you plan to visit Danang, stay overnight at the French Village Bana Hills.
We applied on line for me last time we visited Vietnam, pretty simple process.
My dream is to someday visit the clock at Chiang Rai with Mr. and Ms. Joe. I hope it will happen! God bless you both.

The US Embassy and Consulate in Thailand website has some good information on the legal aspects of a U.S. citizens wishing to marry a Thai citizen. For example this tidbit: "A legal marriage in Thailand consists of two parties registering their union with a local Amphur (Thai district office, similar to a county office). It is a process that can take several days to complete."
Thank you 🙏 for sharing. We already did our research on the requirements for a legal marriage in Thailand. Like in most countries the marriage license comes first and then the wedding ceremony.
@@thaigirlgiftforeignerjoe7774 From what I understood, once you complete the registration with the Amphur, you are legally married, and then the ceremony is really just a formality and not even legally required. Or you could have a ceremony first and get legally married by registering with the Amphur later. But I am not an expert and I could be wrong. In the US, getting a license to be married does not result in marriage until the ceremony takes place, and the ceremony must be officiated by a religious, civil, ordained, licensed minister, judge, magistrate, justice of the peace, or licensed celebrant (depending on the state). In Thailand you will also need to show proof that you are no longer married, especially if previously married.

When we used visit Thailand from Canada we always had to send our passport to Thai embassy because we wanted to stay 6 months .
So we got 60 day stay. I was surprised that we had to live Thailand in order to get 60 more days. We used that time to discover other nearby country’s. It’s kind of deceiving because in order to get a Thai visa in our passport we had to pay $ 200.00.
Plus still had to leave every 60 days.

I have watched some of his videos and just know that this man of God will make your wedding even more special than it is already going to be. I am so glad that David is settling in nicely, shame about the 60 day visa which was supposed to kick in on July 1st! I am sure that you will all have a great time together. How big of a hassle is it to get an extension? Can you get one in PKK?
We just checked yesterday and were told that we can get the 30 day extension at the PKK Immigration office.

Just watched a video that said you need to get the online visa from the Thai embassy before arrival not the visa on arrival for the 60 days that info could be totally wrong though
While I’m not certain, I thought that I read somewhere that it will be 30 on arrival.

We go to Thailand every Christmas and stay in hua hin we had a day out in pkk and were petrified by the monkeys. So what looked like a luvly place we have never been back
Normally, we never had to worry about the monkeys. Really we still don’t, just have to be careful not to walk by them with food in your hands.

Dual citizenship US and German.
Joe was stationed in Germany while in the military and/or working for NATO (not sure which) and married a German woman. His former wife appeared in his recent videos of his travel back to Europe a couple months ago.
