Three years ago I took an early retirement (I was an “essential worker” during the pandemic and I had such burnout that my husband told me to leave and just enjoy my life. However; I had no idea how lonely I’d feel. I played with watercolors for the first time last year and loved it but this year I’ve struggled with depression and feeling hopeless and useless. Today I decided to pull out my watercolors and your video just happened to be in my feed so I watched while painting grounding circles. I just wanted to thank you for bringing some joy to my day today. ❤
Hi Maria! Please know that you are never never alone! I’ve struggled with depression in the past and I know that feeling all too well but there is an after! There’s is a looking back with a heart full of joy and appreciation and being surprised that’s you ever felt that way!

Thank you for the work you did as an essential worker during Covid and for sharing your struggles. I hope you are feeling at least a little better. Could you do an internet search to see if there are groups that meet regularly in your local area of like-minded and/or similar aged people for companionship? Our local government has community centres that hold different events, classes or groups on a regular basis that are cheap or free to attend. You might find something similar in your area? Are there volunteering opportunities in your local area that might interest you? Here we have opportunities to help young school children learn to read or spending time with elderly patients in a care facility who might also be lonely. Most important is taking care of you ❤
I deeply resonate with your narration - the amount of detail you go into and thoughts behind, during and after the art - very holistic stream of consciousness. I also LOVE how you show what the art will look like on a grander scale, placed in a room of one’s home. In addition to how beautiful your voice and your appearance are, these are reasons why it is a pleasure for me to watch your videos. I'm really glad that you left the one you hated! I'm also really glad you shared your thoughts out hating it and showed what you did to get back into your creative mood. So many people hate what they create and either destroy it or give up and stop creating. I think you are modeling a healthier approach to moving through the emotions. Thank you! I began watching a few of your videos on Friday, and by Saturday, I turned my house upside down to find the sketch book I KNEW I had! And I've been exploring ideas and various medium which I have - I have a LOT of supplies, some of which I have NEVER tried (yet) but am saving to try. I like the page you weren't a fan of, I think the colour theme is really pretty! what I love most about these ideas is that you've taken such a simple subject and created some completely unique and different pieces, it's very creative 🥰 (I'd love to try these markers too so please enter me haha 😂)

Hairdryer or heat gun will help that tape peel off perfectly.

Hi Paula! I'm writing to you from Sweden (EU). Your tips has got me painting again after a 10+ years of pause. I've been longing to get back to the art, but stifled myself with high expectations. Thank you so much for all those lovely inspiration flow exersices! I especially loved the drawing of wavy crossing lines and rounding the intersections! Now I'm starting again I notice I only have oil and water colours, no acrylic paint (it dried up) and no markers. I would be super happy to get one of the arttx boxes, since they are kinda both! Love those! ❤
Also let me tell you I really liked the page you hated at first and was pleased you let it be! If you'd blow it up it would look good as wall art in a Skandinavian style room with blonde wood and off whites in the furniture. Trust me! Thank you again for getting me started, it means a lot to me!

I only discovered your page a few weeks ago and keep coming back for more creative inspiration. I would love to enter the Arrtex acrylic paint pen contest. The "feathered" heart is my favorite. More ideas! The strips that isn’t your favorite isn’t my favorite, but I still like it. I think maybe changing up the color would help?? I love the dogs on the desk hahaha. They're your personal admirers! The pastel sacred hearts looks so fun! I didn't really know what a sacred heart is, so I looked it up and learned something, too! The fuzzy looking multicolor one next to them is gorgeous as well! Its really nice to see that you decided to keep a page you didn't like in your book this time - something I have been trying to do is not stress if I don't like something I did in my sketchbook, and just keep it for the effort I put in. I love, love the first one so much I immediately wanted to make it in every gradient I had. I LOVE Acrylics, never used the Acrylic markers, its my favorite supply and the look is so polished and full at the end. Your blue footed boobey keychain turned out amazing and adorable, the amount of detail it caught shrinking down- thank you for showing they can blend and texture too!
You represented this brand and markers much better than the previous reviews I had seen, and I'm once again tempted towards them after I had decided they were not for me.
I never knew what sacred hearts were, or that those hearts were sacred? The name of them- they are gorgeous and so is your collection, I have something new to motivate me when I get back into my book.

Hahhah, I've been binge-watching your Create This Book 3 videos (the cover of that book is so fun and I love how over-and-above you go with the prompts) (I've also been binging on these fill your sketchbook videos). ooooooo the look buttery and creamy, very nice. LOVE the painterly heart, beautiful. You could always go back to the striped hearts and add words over it or in the stripes. It's most certainly save-able.

The thing about sketchbooks are that you can experiment and it doesn't have to be perfect. I too have a problem with tearing pages out i don't like but found that using a book bound sketchbook instead of wirebound helps me be more comfortable with my art and I can take the parts i like from that page and do over on another. As artists we are our harshest critics but just having fun and trusting the process is the way to improve and love art. I really love the outlined hearts. I'm reminded of retro music montage sequence of the character daydreaming of their crush.
I believe because we see other artist using sketchbooks in different ways (some artist use them for finished pieces on one side only) we forget the sketchbook is a personal practice and as different as we all are…. I agreed that historically a sketchbook is a book were you jot down ideas and try things out, but that’s only my opinion and it may be wrong….I think seeing so many beautiful gorgeous perfect pages makes us believe that all pages have to be pretty….
So I’m happy to share how I feel that pressure too and how I try to shake it as I walk my own art journey. And I love and am immensely grateful that in that sharing I’ve found beautiful supportive and insightful comments like yours!
And that we can together not only trust the process but also understand art is about the joy of creating ❤️
I like the line hearts, too. Thank you for keeping it. I'm learning about not being precious about things. I never know if what I have designed or painted may be the one thing that ministers to someone. It's not about me or what I like; it's about helping others.

I really loved the second page that you did not liked much but still it was looking like a masterpiece and I am defenately gonna try it. Also the colour theme matches well with each other and it encouraged me to draw it with the same theme...

Thanks for the video and the giveaway opportunity! I have subscribed on your channel which I only discovered yesterday, and even though I play music now more than visual art, I still love watching and would like to enter your giveaway. When I filled sketchbooks or even created new art, I created a lot of things I didn't like. The way I looked at it is that it is part of getting to ones you do like, like the trial and error process of using new tools. I have sketchbooks with ones that I now cringe looking at, so I know the feeling! And like you said, someone is going to end up liking it!

I found your channel a few weeks ago and I really appreciate your teaching style. It's fun to be creative but sometimes you need that extra push to get you started. The markers would be interesting medium since not everyone is interested in painting.

Just came upon your video by accident and so glad I did! LOVE your ideas! ❤❤The swatch page was awesome and the 2nd page was terrific also! Soooo glad you did not paint over those wonderful lined hearts! I’m the ONE that you mentioned and the reason you left it alone! 🥰🥰. The 3rd page was very colorful, but not a favorite compared to the ‘rainbow’ heart and the last watercolor painting. I would love to win a set of these wonderful acrylic paint markers so I can fill my sketchbook using them. They look so much easier to handle than paintbrushes which I have a hard time controlling as a newbie in the art world. I absolutely love all these ideas. I really like the idea of the stripes with hearts (the page you did not like haha), but I feel some hearts needed some more contrast. The painterly heart on the simple background looked stunning. I cannot wait to try these ideas myself. I would also love to try these markers, so I definitely want to enter the giveaway🥰

Arrtx has been coming out with some awesome products lately!! 👏👏 I really like the sacred hearts and the rainbow colored heart! 🌈 It looks like it is painted on a jean back pocket! 👖 While gray and yellow and not my favorite color combo, the heart design is very cool!! ❤️ I would love to be entered! 🤗😍

I don’t mind the blue heart page. But maybe if you add a few black lines around some of the hearts it may give you the break the colors need or maybe even white.
