Picked one up three months ago. EDC choice for a month afterwards. Find myself carrying it more in more exclusive, gentleman’s knife-type situations now. In every situation I found myself marveling at the knife’s beauty; its design, materials, fit & finish. In and out of the pocket, deploying the blade, ordinary cutting tasks… in every way, operating this knife is pure joy. LOVE IT!
I’ve owned one of these for a few months. It’s unique and very cool, although not practical. I love it. I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

Haven't considered buying a CRKT in quite a few years. This may actually be my next. What a handsome design, which I'm certain is vastly influenced by the collaboration with Hogue. I am an engineer (my wife says it is a birth defect) and I love the symmetry. So I ordered one.
Once you see the asymmetry from the cutout at the bottom of the blade near the handle versus the smooth line at the top, you can't unsee it. So close to perfect
Hey MC! I totally agree - I have PLENTY of very functional utilitarian blades - now I'm looking for something a bit more "Saucy"! I love the design, love spearpoint blades, and love that it is made in the USA! This knife just moved to the front of my "to purchase" list!

In Canada this knife would be prohibited (Canada Criminal Code Section 84: a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife.) That also applies to just about any other crossbar lock, compression lock, button lock, super lock, shark lock, or any knife with a weak detent and/or loosely tightened pivot screw where you can deploy the knife by depressing on the lock and doing a simple flick or by simply flicking it open due to a weak detent. It's ridiculous. Canada's knife laws make a vast majority of pocket knives illegal. That also means Canada's knife dealers are selling prohibited weapons. Are these knives more dangerous than a kitchen knife? Nope!

I really like the visual weighting of the handle to the blade. The proportions are very nice for a folder, though I would have maybe made the transition from belly to tip a little more gentle...

You are right about the gravity knife thing. If a cop wants arrest you, you are going to jail even if you win in court.

I think this knife is badass. Ive never had a knife that deployed like that. So IDK if I'd like that part of it or not. But by sight alone I love the design
Between the 4" blade, and the gravity only operation, and the omega springs, it's neither legal in NY nor something I would want, but it is pretty.
Also, my first full size knife was a CRKT Hissatsu folder, so I do have a teeny bit of nostalgia for them... even if I didn't really like that knife. 🙃
I've got one of these and honestly, the lock bar has nothing to do with whether or not it's a gravity knife. You can very easily flip it open without touching the lock. If you know gravity knives are illegal where you are, it's probably best to skip this one.
That said, I love the look and feel of this thing. Great lines and well balanced.

Very interesting. I was given a Benchmade knife that was lost, found, and unclaimed with a bar lock. I'm not a knife collector by any means not an expert. I just took some time cleaning it and adjusting it. It opens and closes just like this after I tweaked it. I had no idea this could be illegal after I tuned it.
It's got a missing stud in the blade that is not threaded.
I've had one for a few months now and it is gorgeous, it has an amazing feel, and I love it. However I am a little bit self conscious when I use it in a public setting because of it's size and appearance are intimidating.

Picked one up from AG Russell. It’s a little too big for my hand, but I do like the knife. I’ll probably end up flipping it due to its size.
I feel that adding a thumb stud to this knife would destroy the esthetic. With one of those things stuck on the blade it would simply not look right.
Due to the thickness of the bladestock, seems like it might be super good if hollow ground.
One of the only things i still like about oregon is i can and do cary an auto everyday without it being illegal.

I really wanted to keep it but returned it. I wish they had added a crossguard as a flipper and strengthened the detent...wouldve made it legal where I am.

Man I would love it if the blade was a little narrower or the handle was a little thicker so that the blade would be completely inside the handle when folded so both sides could be sharpened.
Sharpened mine, no issues at all, fits 100% into the handle
handsome ass knife but it’s like not ever in stock, sorta reminds me of the discontinued CRKT Physic
It's a nice looking knife but I like my EDC Kershaw Leek. I don't think you sold me on this one although CRKT does make nice blades. It would be better if it opened easier like my Leek.

Thumb studs are usually training wheels for people on most types of knives that can be designed with alternate methods of deployment. Not to mention they are aesthetically ugly.
This knife is not “modern tactical”. A quillion would make this knife tactical.
Willing to bet CRKT profiles the edge during production. They are notorious for being wildly haphazard with hand grinds.
This is basically a gentleman’s knife. It looks nice aesthetically, but it’s mostly impractical beyond the cutting edge.
So, then all the knives you can do that to, are gravity knives.
If a cop wants them to be, yes.

No because everyone already knows. This one is just extra "red flag" because there are no other deployment mechanisms
@@metal_complex I'm LEO. I was super confused when this knife came out. Everyone started yelling gravity knife. That's not really how the majority of laws are written to define a gravity knife. The fear mongering over this knife is very confusing. That's all I'm saying.
