This one works for me! Thank you for the tutorial. Not a lot of practical WC stuff on the internet. Wingchun handfighting goes very much parallel with the wrestling handfighting, but we can use wc style handfighting for grappling as well as striking. Subscribed!🙌
Having such a shallow under hook and leaving it so far behind while you rotate for your entry will make this throw next to impossible. Grab the far side hip instead and it will help to actually get your opponent loaded on your hips and you won't have them just slide off the hip while only lifting one of their legs. I have a video of this throw on my channel detailing a similar entry. (No Gi O Goshi)
Thanks for the comment! I agree this would be hard to land on a trained opponent, but against someone untrained it'll work. I watched your video--its good and works well in the grappling and mma space.
What if you miss? What if he's under the influence of drugs? What if he's wearing a diamond cup for some reason? It's good to have follow-ups my dude. And if you watch street fights a lot end in the clinch - which is where you could use this throw! But thanks for watching!
@@metrolinamartialarts What if is not the issue I am pointing out....there is a JKD training program that is legit and should be followed to call it such. I don't see any of that here.
@@metrolinamartialarts Where is the JKD here? It is simply kickboxing with a judo throw....where is the separation that makes it stand out? How is this direct, simple, efficient? Where is the inline Fencing with the one strike knockout? And if that fails is the hip throw really the next best move for closest weapon to closest target? Economy of motion? and so on with the 5 principles that are taught....Is this a street fight or a sporting event?
@@iammichael1094 So the straight lead is there, but parried hence the jow sao. That creates the opportunity to clinch and hip throw. Are you training with resisting opponents? Are they not clinching? Or are you knocking everyone out with the legendary straight lead?
@@metrolinamartialarts Some say he threw it all out because he realized what he taught contradicted what he believed in. But if you want to teach where he left off....IFO is the way. Direct, simple, effective. Check them out.
This is one of the reason why I like JKD because it doesn't have a end it continues to grow as Bruce said it's self discovery.

Awesome!
Kali is such a bad ass martial art I wish we seen more martial arts like these instead of some McDojo at every corner
The more you're upright and the more the opponent is wrapped around you, the better you'll be able to load them onto your hips.

Or just eye jab and be done with it.
That first kick to the groin and your done.

@@iammichael1094 So you're saying I'm not legit? Then who is? Is JKD all dick kicks and eye pokes?

Nonsense...Bruce threw this all out for more simple and effective ways. Please study more before you try to teach and call it JKD.
I'm pretty sure he didn't throw away the Jow Sao... But we weren't there, we don't know. He did do away with complex trapping.
@@metrolinamartialarts Well, in the end he did close all his schools so.
@@iammichael1094 so....?
