At completion he was on the Air @ WBLS
I cant begin to explain what this footage means to me and hip-hop period. Thanx...
My sentiments as well.
We need as much footage of stuff like this as possible to be preserved
Amen !
My white azz grew up on this man. Mr. Magic, WBLS, I love him! He's alive in heaven so i will not say RIP because he's not resting, he's living in another dimension where he was needed before his time.
This footage needs to be in a documentary and released for the world to see what hip-hop really was and what it really meant to us!!!
us meaning who?
Shout out to all the viewers on here who lived and breathed this era, culture, music etc ..🗽💯
Force MDs were something else!
Word up. And the surviving members of the Force MDs still rip the stage to this day!!!
I miss this era of hip hop!!!! Those were the days!!
What a great window into the past, so good to see early hip hop without the huge budgets and corporate investments. These people clearly loved the music
Good Lord, these were the days. This World’s Famous Supreme Team Malcolm McLaren beat though. I extremely grateful that I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. Amazing times and memories. ❤
This is so cool i love how Rap started , i grew up listing to rap since 1989 but i never seen this footage . This music inspired me to be a producer .Thanks for uploadin this footage i love it
What a treat that was seeing some old friends and Legends in the early stages of Hip Hop culture. I miss Me. Magic. I was definitely a “ Super Listener” !
Mr Mr Magic Magic Super Super Blast Blast 💥💥💥
This is dope, good to see Mr. Magic get his flowers
Damn, that was dope, all that history right there... the pioneers and originators.
My oh my how times have changed... This video is a jewel
thanks for the vintage footage Mr.Lee, made miss the times when all things surrounding Hip Hop culture (graffiti, rapping, breakdancing, beatboxing, dress and slang) was so pure and undiluted b 4 these corporations took hold keep hitting us with that rare footage brotha thanks and god bless.
Best years in rap period. 1979 to early 1984 the true old school the disco ere. Then run dmc early 1984 plus the new school/true school/golden age/boombap. 2000 to present total bull.
90s rappers caused the corrosion of rap music with promotion of crime and alcohol and drug use. They gave birth to the strung out, crime infested rappers of today.
I was born in this era 💪🏽💯
Thanks Sam! Brings tears to my eyes. Sometimes, Magic would rub people the wrong way, but what you captured here reminds everyone why he is one of the biggest influences, if not THE godfather of Hip-Hop! I miss him! We had become good friends, which led to me writing and producing"Magic's Message" for him.
Duane Hughes peace spyder D...👊🏿
@spydomobiledotcom- You are truly a part of Hip Hop History! Believe it or not, I have the rap " Magic's Message on my thumb drive with many other old school raps....Magic was unique, original, and much more...I was 8,9 years old when my family returned to Staten Island, NY....I learned about Mr. Magic etc....🤝🏾💯🗽
its a tragedy how the Force MCs were watered down into the Force MDs
Great to see Mr Magic! Thanks for uploading.
This needs to be put out commercially. A DVD. Like that Dutch guy did with "Big Fun, In The Big Town".
That Force Md's performance just makes me want to go back in time and experience that time all over again. Being young, and how the music was such a big part of hanging out, getting girls and just growing up in a great era
I was Locked in for the whole 30 minutes… Great footage / great times … Mr Magic, as well as others , presented HIP HOP in a wonderful way ..,,
❤️❤️
From the hood and well spoken
AMAZING FOOTAGE! You deserve more props for this, where did you get this, you film it? Any more would love to see!
100% this golden footage!
Incredible footage Samuel, many many thanks. Youve titled this part 1, was there another part ? There were titles at the end so im confused....did you record another section / show ?
Thanking God for this music and this culture that has bought my life so much joy and meaning over the years. I lived in New York City during this time frame when hip-hop was an exciting phenomenon. This video shows a time not long before the crack era. Fun and good times. Thank you to the gentleman who posted this video.
Harry Williams your welcome
This beautiful thing was taken from us
I was listening to Mr Magic on WHBI before he went to WBLS. It was an underground radio station. He used come on in the middle of the night but i had school so i would put a 90 minute tape in my box and set my alarm for the time the show came on. I would get up hit record and i would have a new tape every week. You also had other similar shows that i also taped in tbe middle of the night like The Supreme Team Show and The Zulu Beat which was my favorite
I liked the Awesome 2 as well
@@redeerum Damn i cant believe i didnt mention them. They had a good show too for sure. I even forgot WBAU. That was the long Island station that Chuck D and Flavor Flav was on before they became Public Enemy. Back when Chuck D was trying to sound like Mele Mel. Lol
CLASSIC Footage!!!!!
This is hiphop. DLB was a beast on the mic. 100s
Real Hair ,,, love them dayz!!!!
I'm so glad I was a part of that era.
This brings back so many memories. Thank you I had to repost
Incredible footage and archiving. Thank you for posting.
Just phenomenal stuff! Thanks for posting this important piece of hip hop history!!
DLB one of the best rappers from the early 80s.
Yes. I agree. DLB, slept on, never mentioned.
Da Force MD's kilt-it!
Classic. Hearing someone breakdown the 1st generation and calling Run DMC the 2nd generation of hip hop is a history lesson in itself!
They were 2nd generation. That no secret! They just broke into the mainstream! That what they were 1st at!
Good vibes in them old days.
Chicks rockin' real hair.
Look at all them beautiful Black young people's, so innocent, fresh and still full of hope, its obvious these were pre crack days...Different times for sure ❤
Nope. The year was 1984. I was 15 years old and crack was in full swing. But us early HipHoppers knew not to phuk with it. Crack is Wack.
Incredible Post!! Best post I ever seen on UA-cam!!!!
So awesome. thanks!
Great footage sir thank you for sharing this.
Dope documentary! Always dope to see how it all started out. Also, this is the first time I hear that D'Bora joint. "No sense". Troy Ave made "Good Time" to the same beat. Fly stuff!
Taana Gardner Heartbeat, very popular groove replayed alot in a couple of records in the 80s
The year I started listening to Hip Hop and buying tapes in the U.K.
I was a kid and did not know I was looking at a revolution!
This is lit! Thanks for sharing this. I even survived seizures to watch the force m.d.'s rock the mic lol.
wow this is great footage describing is one thing seeing is another....especially for ppl who don't know what it was in the beginning and say any old thing
THANKS FOR THIS UPLOAD!!! #TEAMFEARLESS4LIFE
This is golden. Just shared with a bunch of OGs
Thank you
OH BOYYY YES RAP DID EXPAND TO GREAT HEIGHTS DURING THE GREAT YEARS🎤🎧
Great upload
DLB's Rockin it!
It amazes that there was so many memories growing up listing to hip hop, funk, soul and house music which was starting to make air waves in the mid 80" s and seeing the force md"s make there appearance as emcees and singers i always thought that whodini, utfo, and many other hip hop acts had a singing touch but the force mds can do what any other hip hop acts can do with a twist of harmony but what so sad about it is they could of been emcees instead of mds thats what had too many productions and changes that made they downfall from sad moments....only if hip hop like this could still be around like this you could still hear it on the radio but thank god for youtube because anything you wanna hear ...it would be youtube because radio stations like today wouldn"t even think of nothing of the golden era of hip hop!!!
Thanks for the comment
wow! this was awesome!
Amazing Footage! Love it! Is there a second Part? I would love to see it! Anyway, thanks for uploading!

Thank you sir. I produced it myself. Working to get part 2 out even though it's been 2 yrs lol. I have most of it shot already. I have a new lead actor.
Cool, stick and stay my brother, keep me in the loop
Thank you sir, that means a lot coming from a guy like you. I definitely have some ideas I wanna materialize.
He said RAP Attack not Heart Attack.
So I guess he's alright then?
D’bora is so beautiful ❤😍
part 2??
They did Cool Kyle dirty. Spelled his name wrong and then cut him off mid sentence.
