You did a great job all the way around. You are a very talented young man. I saw all your videos now. When the weather gets nicer put a nice coat of polish on it. And shoot our another video.
Thank you! That was a lot of work! That wasn’t even all of what I did in that short amount of time before I had to drive it back to Minnesota! I also replaced brake lines, repacked the front hubs, bled the brakes, changed the rear gear oil, cleaned the rear axle breather vent, and installed a trailer receiver hitch!!!! But now it’s perfect no issues! It’s running and driving like a brand new car. I’ve done roughly 800 miles since I recorded this video
Definitely! Up next is maybe a slight window tint to further protect the interior, maybe a different set of wheels and white wall tires, probable dual exhaust as im thinking the converters are kinda plugged up. And other than that keep it as it was!
I flushed the oil pan with about 6 gallons of gas total. The orange paint pan seen at 8:17 has gunk and oil build up in it. I got about that amount out each time I did it. I flushed the pan probably 30 times.
So far it’s still running great! It’s keeping great oil pressure and it’s not making any sounds. I still would like to do a swap if the motor ever gives any problems
Throttle body efi, I was using 87 for the long distance driving I did, but I use premium for everything else with it! It’s running great now, this video showed the initial issues that I encountered. Most of which are to be expected for a 40 year old car that had been sitting since 2000. I’ve put probably close to 1000 miles on it since I replaced the oil pump. The previous owner said they had the oil pump replaced, I think it was but the mechanic did not clean the pan! And it instantly plugged things up
@@Andrewj2152 Yes I would stick with the Premium. I always used it in the Crowns. I've owned. I know everyone says " You only need regular." Which is true but it will run noticeably better on Super.. there are no knock sensors on that car. I have always noticed quicker acceleration. And if you do the math what are you saving per fill up? Stick with the Premium. Again best of luck with it. Enjoy send us some more videos. I'm glad you have the car.
I will stick with premium for this car! I would like to do the math and see what mpgs it’s getting but I don’t think I will be driving it enough to get an accurate measurement, the previous owner had the fuel tank replaced, and the filler neck tube must have cracked because at any more than 3/4 full it drips. That’s on my list to fix!
@@carminecrapanzano1407 haha yep, I didn’t buy it for it’s speed! I bought it just to drive for special occasions! I’m happy with how it performs though
It’s good now, keep watching the video! The pan was filled with gunk! It completely plugged the pickup tube screen! Thick gunk that would not break down, and the way the screen was designed it also trapped the gunk from coming off of the screen. I filled the pan with 1.5 gallons of gas and let it soak for 24 hrs to see if it would dissolve stuff in the pickup tube screen. It did not! It’s all good now though
Yeah, throttle body. For some reason it seemed to help make it start. I think if I would have held my foot to the floor it would have started better. I wasn’t wanting to rev it up right away because everything had been deprived of oil.

im glad you got old gal running again
Thank you I am too!

Thank you! I really appreciate the compliment, I plan on polishing it up real nicely! It’s probably never been waxed or buffed
Nice job Andrew!!! 🇺🇲 🏁 🏁 😎 🏁 🏁 🏁 🏁 🏁 🏁

Like how the ticking sound cleared right up good job !
Yeah, it’s got 700 miles under its belt and the ticking is still gone!
So I see you did get this beautiful car back to Minnesota!
Yeah! I had to work for it though! Every step of the way was a battle on it! Haha

Check out the first video of the car! It’s doing great now!
Nice getting it running I’d be happy to see a 351 build for it or a coyote

@@Andrewj2152 right on I learned to drive in an 86 crown Vic with police interceptor you could do donuts for days in that carb
