Sorry, Guys, I have made a Mistake at 00:41 the 1k resistor would be connected with PIN 2 and PIN 3 as I mentioned earlier.

Can i use it with 12v dc for my bike, also make a video on chainies aeroplan portable flasher.
Great circuit. Few questions btw.
1. What is the minimum voltage can make it work? Will this work on 3v coin cell?
2. Can I switch the electrolytic capacitor with a ceramic one?
1. i think yes.
2. you need to calculate the ceramic value
To use a 3v button cell is not ideal because it will deplete very fast, but u can use it. U must change R2 to something like 56 ohm too.

Nice Circuit, but there is a problem, C1 is reversed Biased when LED is on, not good for a polarised Capacitor

It's worth pointing out that they make LEDs that blink, using the same package as a normal LED.
I think the answer is No because if you are getting the blink effect without using any components.
And yes if you use power transistors then you can power up many LEDs at a time.

In the year 2001 self flashing LEDs had come to the market. I still have a red one I bought at that time. Aren't they still available? Why take the trouble to make this circuit? It looks like a normal LED and costed only 3 rupees at that time. The only drawback was that you cannot control the pace of the flash. It's half second on/half second off.
Here you can control the flashing by changing the capacitor values
It's not so much about the item as it is the fun of doing and learning in the process.

This circuit can't provide you much amps. So if you want to connect more LEDs or LED strips then I will suggest you to connect any power transistor for higher output capacity.

Blinking speed is very fast, how to slow it.
Different values of capacitors for different outputs suppose if you are using lower value then the flashing rate will be high and if you use the higher value of caps then the flashing rate will be low which you are wanting.
