- Slenderman visits the 2014 Metacon in Minneapolis.
I worked on perfecting this Halloween costume on-and-off for a year (it broke last year). Color-matched suit, moving hands, custom stilts that conceal my toes, extending tentacles in the back; is "ultimate costume" a hefty claim? Maybe, but the Marble Hornets guys said it was the best they'd ever seen. Either way, tons of fun!

You mean that dumb college movie that was never finished? Honestly the director was just moody and not in a good way dialogue was forced (because the director wrote it) and the sound track sounded like it was recorded in somebody's apartment in the middle of a rain storm...no wonder they stopped filming

Wow you did a really good job with the legs... Especially The stilts feet inside the shoes!
How did you do that with the stilts and hands?
Like where you can't see your toes/feet sticking out in the knee area?
RybelliousGaming The hands are an adapted Instructables.com design I operate with my thumbs. The stilts are a custom design made using PVC pipe on the shin area that I wear with my toes pointed down. And man, did I get some big blisters. They still need some fine-tuning.

+David Smith This one: www.instructables.com/id/Science-Fair---Articulated-Hand--20/ I mounted it on a lightweight pole and tied all the "tendon" strings to my thumb so I could make them open and close while still moving my wrist to make the "elbow" (I felt like normal size upper arms and 5 foot forearms would look too disproportionate for my taste).
The stilts are so dang cool, I imagine they're real uncomfortable though, do you think there's a way to achieve the slim look without hurting your ankles?

How were you able to keep the pant legs so skinny ?
Every stilt video I see they’re all wearing baggy pants and it looks horrible. But yours looks awesome because the pant legs make it look real.
That's exactly the flaw I was thinking of when I designed the stilts. I wear them with my feet pointed straight down to keep the profile small enough to fit in the pants. It's uncomfortable, but I do like how the look turned out.

+YBH I doubt that's a good idea. They're heavy, uncomfortable, and probably bad for the ankles. I use them at my own risk :)

This costume is unreal. Best one I’ve seen. I work at a popular haunted cornfield on the weekends and I am detail oriented like you. I want to recreate this. I read some of your comments - only a few questions here: Did you make the hands from that link or did you buy them, and any updates to the PVC legs? They look great 👍
The hands are more or less just as the link describes, then mounted on some aluminum poles. The fingers are all tied to a single cord attached to my thumb, which allows me to use my wrist as the costume's elbow (so I have to keep my own elbow as straight as possible).
For the legs, I made them more stable by chopping off the old feet, making longer, more foot-shaped blocks that match the slope of the shoes, and bolting through the new "feet," shoes and all, to the bottom of the stilts (with some L-iron reinforcement).

Yes, it was a battery-powered mattress inflator. I ran a wire to a switch on the left arm.

Nah, it was just a simple pump, the four tendrils are all connected to a central chamber in the back with the pump in it
