- Welcome back folks! like I said the time has come! Harvest has started on the 21/07/21 on the winter barley (Kingsbarn) at farm 2 with the John Deere T670i combine with 630X Header and John Deere 6150R & Richard Western SF14 HS Grain trailer.

You jest about about hitting the barn with the auger, but my Granddad actually did that in the 90s. He went to put the combine away, but somehow missed the Auger was out. I shouted stop, but he couldn't hear me. The world went slow then BANG as the auger hit the wall. He was red faced for days, what with it still being the middle of harvest.
Must have been a big repair bill
@@Louis-B-53 I have no idea about cost, as I was only about 8 at the time, so finances were never discussed in front of me. I just remember that it took over a week to get the replacement parts. For those interested the combine was a Claas dominator from the early 80s.

Fantastic video Andy - it must be a great feeling harvesting the crop that you planted earlier.
This is impressive. A lot of stuff to know. Destin from Smarter Everyday was right, farmers are the smartest people in the world.
This rain needs to do one we are getting now, I only grow spring barley and it looks good but starting to get smashed up and those pesky pigeons are getting on it!!

I barely saw any Harvesting this year to be honest. There's been the corn harvesting the last few weeks but i barely saw any wheat harvesting. Can't wait for the next year. Great video!

We got the winter barley in last week, plenty dry enough from the field too. Great video once again
Lucky you Richard was your barley flat I have a 30 acre field that is completely flat

I was a young farmer myself many years ago. Been a while since I've driven a tractor. They've changed a bit. The 3350 is more up my street!!! 🤣

And mine. I love the harvest/combine videos. I hate it when watching the last of the crop being knocked down. Having said that, it doesn't seem like any more than a month or so since i watched (with a little sadness) the clips of Andy finishing up, last year. Scary.

Don't bale the straw! While it might seem profitable, you gradually remove nutrients from the soil and your yields will fall.

Great video them straw rows reminds me of my youth at hawes North Yorkshire hay rows them but massively high my cousins uncle had a allis charmers baler back in the day bright orange I think 😀..and at scotch corner .uncle worked on a estate farm 🚜 I used 2 go in the school holidays as a 10 yr old ride on the tractors .they had URSURS polish ones as a dealer near by ...Ford tw 25..small John deere very quick ..aiaxl flow 1460 International harvester what days compared with now 🤔

Concave seems wide 2 me but we farm on east coast basically on the beach so have to nip combine up and rub hard
Yeah if I remember rightly I started off forgetting to set the concave as I normally set it at around 12 on barley

health and safety meeting before hand, but you didn't do a health and safety inspection. The pull pin on your fire extinguisher is out. Wheat harvest is the most likely time you need your extinguisher, and is it ready? or leaked down?
