Also, and even though it is far less important than not hurting anybody, bailing also carries a decent risk of damaging your tail, even with a properly attached leg rope :)

Nothing better than knowing how to turtle roll and duckdive to get out to the lineup without getting smashed by whitewater.

I used soft top 8’ and I know I should use turtle roll, I am scare the board will get smashed in two pieces, may I know the highest wave height that a soft top turtle roll could bear? And the reason for my broken board ?

That is a hard question to answer, because there are many factors involved. I have snapped boards on 3 foot days, so it doesn't take much...

@@TheSurfersJourney hi sorry its me again did you know how to prevent surfboard getting flipped over by wave when doing turtle roll? (Any way to improve it?) Cus my board got flipped over and myself like many times and the wave are just 1.3m below and I already keep pulling my board closer to my chest ( soft top makes it very difficult to pull down)

@@fghkufzc9833 One thing you can do on a longer board is to sit on the tail and wait for the white water to come at you. Once it's almost reached you, let the board cork up out of the water while you transfer to a prone position. The corking action of the board should lift you up and over the white water. Rinse and repeat until there's a lull. I hardly ever turtle roll anymore tbh. I just wait until the timings right and go for it, saves a lot of energy. If you're sticking with a longer board, watch Wingnut's "The Art of Longboarding". Should be here on youtube, has some great tips and amazing surfing. I watch it about once a month myself whenever I feel a little stuck.

@@fghkufzc9833 I would just get a pu board or something, soft tops are usually meant to be beginner boards and you cant really do many advanced techniques on them.

@@TheSurfersJourney oh yes sorry I just found out it’s 36L but I’d say it would be quite hard because I’m 5 foot 6 and weigh 50kg (I’m 13)
