    job posting are mostly wish list. You don't need to have everything 100%, but at least 70%-80%. I remember looking at my own job posting when my company was looking for more people, and I was like " yeah, there is not way I do all of that" I would have been scare to apply to my own job..

    If you can lie to get a better job then do it, but if you lie about something you actually cant do then thats just stupid. You’re gonna be way to obvious and get caught in the interview like he did.

      Supply demand, companies want people who already know.
      There are too many Jon applicants (who claim) with degrees and certification.
      Oversaturation has destroyed entry level IT opportunities.

    I’d say if you want to go that route..lie about what you can confidently speak on. Some interviewers may interrogate you on the topics to the point where feel unconfident about things you actually have experience in. Some may only go surface deep because they themselves don’t know much about the topic.

    I'm in devops. There is no standardization in the industry. Every company uses a seemingly different stack of tools. Even with real experience I have preformed poor on interviews. Just take it with a grain of salt

    Confidence is a plus, but never oversell or lie in a resume.
    I interviewed with a company’s CTO, Head of Legal and Solutions Architect over a period of 4 days. Before the process, I ensured my CV was up to date. During the process, the CTO was particularly interested in my international experience and constantly referred to my experience. Whether building out frameworks, engaging with vendors or asking technical questions, I was always on point. Mid way through one question he stopped me and stated, “you obviously have the experience and background, so let’s lighten the conversation”.
    Remember, it always pays to be honest and transparent in order to protect one’s personal brand.

    One reason why you shouldn’t lie? It’s a federal offense (if you have a friend vouch for you, then it becomes a conspiracy to commit fraud) BUT that’s only after you signed on the dotted line.
    Lying will catch up if you can’t do the job and yes: they WILL do a background check on you at that point.
    It’s not worth it. It’s just not. You don’t want that type of pressure on you.

      "One reason why you shouldn’t lie? It’s a federal offense "
      Lying is not a federal offense, lying on a government document is. HR papers even for a government job do not count.

    I have a question though about this. What if you have the actual skills, they are looking for but not the title. I have the skills of a controller, but I am a senior accountant. Would it be wrong to lie on my resume that i am an assistant controller?

    • @UncleTreCSE
      @UncleTreCSE  Рік тому +2

      If you have the skills its ok to put it on your resume any if its not in the job description. Job Descriptions can be very vague and not always encompass everything that the job will entail.
