      It's powered by servo motors.

      " braking system"
      there is no any "braking system" there as all the joints are run by servo motors via reducers with relatively high (1:30, 1:50 etc) gear ratio. In other words the holding torque of a servo motor is multiplied by a reducer with accordance to its gear ratio so it makes the joint capable of holding a substantial amount of load with no effect on its position. As simple as that.
