I respect the reasoning that new professions feel fun. However with the combat professions, so far they all feel the same. This could be fixed with them having unique skills or mechanics, even minor ones.
@@boomshanka4667 Which, to my limited understanding, hasn't been put in. No matter what class you have, they still all just auto attack at the moment. I unlocked it yesterday but have yet to progress any quests or really do much in Act 2.
I feel like the strategy to unlock the map and professions in chunks is less overwhelming and once we get a feel for them all they can then blend them all together in new regions. Having fun so far even just in episode 1 playing casually.
I think when it comes to the professions they need to go 1 of 2 routes you either have a set of universal skills which every episode has like fishing for example where every episode you are able to fish in certain locations or in future episodes they make it so that you carry your profession over so for example in episode 5 you carry your fishing, woodcutting and mining over where you can continue level these professions in another area
That wouldnt make things better because then youre forcing them to add resource gathering areas in every episode. Thats not a good solution. The way things are now is fine.
That doesnt help the game design in the slightest, think about it. Zone A would be dead as Zone B everyone would be farming for better xp. The areas are small as it is, to keep the areas looking busy they need to make people run from different zones and stay in different areas so it doesnt look quiet.
I like the system but this game badly needs episode gear sets OR the ability to mark gear as junk or vendor trash. Sending gear back to your bank and inventory management is a nightmare.
It's clunky, and I will warn you this is a spoiler, but doing the spider quest line in Act 2 will let you get a spell to bank resources. That seems to be the entire goal for most people is getting that spell unlocked. The barracks spell that lets you bank items also has an equip all option which lets you equip gear per act, I haven't found needing downtime when it comes to switching gear. Just press a button and gear is switched.
Also, if you press the arrow button open, that panel will stay open. You are then free to move the bubbles around for your inventory. I've commonly seen people putting their preferred windows all in one tab and moving it to whichever side you prefer. Inventory management is at least more present when you can physically see your inventory slots at most times. This game does not have remotely similar inventory management to OSRS/RS3 outside of its a limited slot based system.
Respect the Brighter Shores team, they seem happy to be doing this. I don't know how often people play early access games, but its hyper rare to have a patch day 1 and communication about new systems actively incoming. This sort of feels like the original days of playing RS2 where every week something was happening and we just went with it, hopefully that vibe stays.
Ya it might be a good idea. I feel like the problem is the majority of people are only going to play episode 1, maybe 2, so they don’t get the full scape of the game. If you don’t know what the strange stones are, and if you don’t understand how everything intertwines, I can see you having a bad time. I guess what I’m saying is you need to sink too much time in the beginning to feel a reward
@@samplautz5586yeah I haven't even made it through the quest yet. There's a lot of things I'm not super thrilled about. Tbh this might be a game where I come back in 6 months and try again. Is it an mmo though? you cant fight the same mob as somebody else... chat is auto disabled and once enabled theres no chat log... feels like a single player experience with schizophrenia... Kind of like Dark Souls
but the new experieance is exactly the same so its not a new experience.... it just feels like a chore in its current state. I get the reasoning, but it feels like total shit to have all of my gear and progress be totally invalidated each time i enter a new episode. It goes against the entire purpose of an RPG, where the point is to progress your entire character. I spent 5ish hours grinding and approaching episode 2, only for all of my progress to be made irrelevant the moment i walked through the gates.
as you progress though, youll realise that episode 1's progress isnt irrelevant at all, because at some point the subsequent episodes requires progress in episode 1
Doesnt it also feel like total shit to have all of your gear invalidated each time you get from level 20 to 30 level zone (wow for example) or have all of your gear invalidated each time new expansion or powercreep comes (every mmo ever). These are all just different approaches.

I saw a suggestion of changing "episode" to "region" so it doesnt sound like they are a finite area you move on from.
