I don't care about any of the new changes beside one very important one. Duolingo got rid of that _information_ page that each lesson used to come with, which was honestly the best way for me to learn. If there is any way to get those back, I _need_ to know.
I like the idea of a fluency percentage, although I have no idea how they could accurately calculate something like that. And as someone who is trying to improve their Linkedin profile, that "Add to Linkedin profile" prompt is enticing.
Loved the video Rafael! I’ve recently relaunched the app since the lockdown and I miss having the opportunity to have unlimited attempts of hearts for mastered skills. We are penalized now and that sucks.
@@RafaelLeon I’m sooo sorry for the delay! It wasn’t an in purchase app add-on, just an automatic feature for independent study. Granted it is old news by now, but in the Summer (early June) the developers resolved the issue and I was a happy camper in that department again. I also realized that my UA-cam emails did not include responses to comments so I have that turned on to see any future responses :).
@Trollerlel009 thank you thank you!!! Yes, that works, I also noticed that early June was the updated version that reverted back to the original unlimited hearts for mastered lessons my everything is all good now :). Thank you so much for your response on this!
It's kinda late to answer but i consider that having hearts is a necessity because if you struggle way to much to commit more than 5 errors per lesson then that does mean that you're not learning and you're just skipping questions
@@conicthehedgehog9166 I understand where you are coming from but I qualified my response with "mastered skills" I do not see the point of penalizing me for something that I mastered. It is different for unmastered skills, hearts are fine, but the mastered skills should be unlimited like it used to be. Thanks for your thoughts.
Same I started learning Chinese this January I'm on sapphire league. I can speak Chinese a little (because of duolingo) but I can't read. Any tip? Please.
A feature they got rid of in early 2020 I really don't miss are these bonus Thursdays where you would get double xp for each lesson you finish within the timespan of 30 mins. ...everyone was who wanted to move up a league was abusing and I remember falling into this rabbit hole myself, repeating basic Hiragana lessons over and over again which had about zero effect on my progress and was essentially just a big waste of time.
That's right, Moisés. Don't worry. I've been there and I know this is something a lot of people are seeking so I'm preparing something special to help people like you. But for now, my suggestion for you is to focus on listening and getting used to the language the best way you can. Not only to the sounds of spoken English but also the rhythm and to "internalize" day to day sentences and linking words ("I mean", "like", "I think", "what about" etc.). You must remember that natural speaking is all about expressing thoughts "automatically", which is only possible if the language is constantly in touch with your brain.
@@RafaelLeon Nice, thanks for your tips. I just studied vocabulary using Anki and text with audio. I did Mario Vergara's course and I used these basics methods. I practice at least 1 hour of listening per day. Now I'm doing Cambly to talking with a native speaker, 2 days a week. But Speak is very hard. What I'm doing now is shadowing and read text out laud. You speak so naturally, I think you have a lot of tips for us. Thanks!
That's awesome, Moisés. I think you are doing great and I'm sure those activities are gonna make you improve really quickly. Speaking is harder probably because it's by far the skill you've been practicing the least. Even though you've been talking with natives (which is amazing, keep doing that), another useful way to have a feedback and check if your spoken English is easily understood is when you try to use the voice recognition tools of your phone. Try to use Google Assistant for that. In this video I show you how: ua-cam.com/video/jEdyBglevuY/v-deo.html
Hi, I searched tis video because I can't see my leaderboard. Can you tell me how to fix this? Someone said it because my account is not for public and I have to changed the privacy settings. But actually my account is already for public. I'm sorry for my bad English
Dude your English is so good! I actually though you were native!
Thank you, Trevor. It means a lot. :)
Trevor Treasure same lol
So did I. Hugs from Pernambuco, dude! Congrats for such a great fluency! you do sound natural as a native speaker! :)

Chatbots were the shit, I was so sad when it randomly disappeared 😭
Why would they get rid of the bot conversations?!
I would like it if they brought the chats feature back as I haven't tested it yet LOl. Nice video
I joined duolingo recently, so I couldn't see these features, but I really liked the club feature
