Except you repent, you will all likewise perish. - Luke 13:5
It is indifference that leaves people alone and allows them to go their own way. It is love, tender love, that warns them and raises the cry of alarm. The cry of “Fire! Fire!” at midnight might sometimes rudely, harshly, and unpleasantly startle a person out of his sleep, but who would complain if that cry was the means of saving his life? The words Except you repent, you will all likewise perish might at first seem stern and severe, but they are words of love, and they could be the means of delivering precious souls from hell.
    1. The nature of repentance: What is it?
    2. The necessity of repentance: Why is repentance needful?
    3. The encouragements to repentance: What is there to lead people to repent?

This is a great explanation of repentance and actually it is the best I have ever heard, even though I have been "in church" for decades. The subject is clearly and simply explained. I purchased the book. In fact I purchased about 10 copies to distribute to "church people" I know (friends and family). This is what I will distribute for "gifts" going forward. No card or gift can provide an explanation of eternal life the way this sermon can. I just wanted to add, I am continuously reading the book and applying it to my life. Repentance towards God and faith towards Jesus Christ IS the message for this hour. Thank you for releasing the copy of the sermon.

"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." II Corinthians 7:10 AND "Do you take lightly the kindness, tolerance and patience of God, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance." Romans 2:4 . First, comes a "godly sorrow" which is a deep remorse in that we have treated a holy God in ways that this God doesn't deserve to be treated . . . and that pierces our heart to the core. Secondly, it is (that is repentance) a gift of God and is a daily spiritual disciple that true believers should take part in. Therefore, let's not take God's goodness lightly or else we may become hardened and forget, forget, forget . . . where each breath we take comes from. Honor and praise to our Creator God forevermore !!!

Hello, my name is Laura and I'm 15, I want to be saved, I want to repent but I don't have Godly sorrow over my sins that produces repentance and I'm just stuck, I feel empty and I worry about it, I need help I don't know what to do, I want to truly repent and be truly converted but my heart is hardened to my sins that I have no sorrow over it, or sometimes I don't recognize my sins, but lately my heart is feeling cold towards God but part of me doesn't want to be like this. I want to be truly saved but I don't have godly sorrow. I do want to be born again but I am stuck.

@@GMan7418 Hello Laura, I've just listen to this book and was moved by the Holy Spirit to reply to you.
Tell God all of your cares, problems, doubts, stresses and your sins.
God knows and loves you, you won't be telling Him anything He didn't know already, however, by telling Him you show trust and belief however small in Him who is greater than all.
God loves you with an everlasting Love, His desire is for you to be His child and receive His gift of a home in Heaven.
Jesus has made that possible with His sacrifice on the Cross.
If you're struggling to pray or don't know how, look in your bible or go online if you don't have one and go to Matthew 6:9 to13 and then pour out to Him all that is troubling you. Ask Jesus to do for you , what you cannot do for yourself, He loves you so much Laura.
      Read Matthew 11:29 to 30.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to trust and believe in God, our Father and His loving son Jesus. To know and believe that He will set you free from your sins.
Each day talk to God in prayer, ask for His guidance , help in navigating your day to day life, especially the negatives in it and He will help you.
I will pray for you, may God pour out His love upon you, may you see and feel His mighty hand in your life. My your heart be warmed and changed by His Word, The Bible. I pray for God to use you for His honour and glory, to lead others to His son Jesus. May He bless and keep you under His wing of protection and keep you faithful to Him, please God hear my prayer, in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ, Amen. 🙏🏾🤗

Repentance comes as a consequence of hearing about the goodness of God (Rom 2:4). So if you want people to repent, tell them how good God is. Preach the good news: God loves you, he died for you and he offers you his righteousness. Do you believe it?
God’s power for salvation - for your forgiveness, healing, deliverance and provision - is revealed in the good news of grace. Do you believe it?
All the blessings of God come to us by grace alone. Do you believe it?
Faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin. Repentance, like faith, is a positive response to something God has said or done.
John says little about repentance but he talks about believing over and over. He wrote so “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). The key to life is not in turning from sin but trusting in Jesus.
You want others to repent? Then preach the gospel that reveals the goodness of God. Use words if necessary.
      Jesus has done it all!

No one is arguing that. Yeshua also tell us to continually repent. Rather once saved always saved is true or not, if we all did what we were supposed to No one would even have to stress over it.
There's a few things that are listed in the New Testament:
      1. Accept Yeshua as your Savior
      2. Love Yeshua
      3. Love your neighbor
      4. turn from sin
      5. not be of this world
      6. continually repent
Yeshua literally set a foundation and people are still confused..

Its also good to read the Present with Religion, a book available for free on the internet. The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the whole truth of life is the key factor in our salvation. We must know the real truth, all of it and live in it and change ourselves according to it in order to be saved. There is no other way to our salvation. With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changinf our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally our santificatiin which is a lifelong process. And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation. Our task is to find this narrow gate that leads to God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what. Then and only then we will be saved. There is nothing more important or serious to do in this fallen world as our eternal fate depends on it.

If you believe actively turning from sin is required you believe in works salvation. Furthermore, several times throughout the New Testament we're told that belief is how we get saved so repentance has to be something that can happen when we believe.

Dear M G. I don't know how much emphasis I'd put on feelings. While it's true that "Godly sorrow leads to repentance," that's not necessarily the entire context. We're not told that we must feel sorrowful, but that we must repent. We're not told that we must feel a certain way, but that we must "deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Christ." We're not told to say certain words, but we're told to believe in Christ.
Hopefully this helps. I do think a natural reaction is for us to feel sorry for our sins, but if you don't have that, take what you can and turn to Christ anyway. You can still confess your sins.

But you know your need, and I think that is enough. I was very similar, doing what I wanted to do, and not feeling sorrowful for sins. It wasn't until I told the Lord I was willing to be made willing to live for him that things began to change. Take a simple step of faith towards the Lord, confess your lack of feeling, and ask Him to work in your heart and life. He knows best what you need, and it is he who takes away hearts of stone and gives hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26)
Also, please know that the Lord is very good. He rewards those who diligently seek him. There is some pleasure in sin for a season, but having a heart filled with love is so much better. There is a curious little lie told to Christians. It might come at the beginning or sometime after but there it will be and it took little time for it to be told in this book. I would say to every Christian if you are a Christian to remember that you are not a Buddhist. Their salvation it to become a person free of all temptations. To be a free son of Adam, but ours is to become a child no longer of Adam at all but of God.
The steps on this journey if it is taken at all may wonder true, but they are also always taken in order.
First to believe. It makes no real difference how one comes to this belief. It might be by considering the stars or seeing the design all around, it might be because of science, understanding that all things at one point were not, and then they were. It might be the love of a child but regardless of how, a firm conviction must come about that God has to be real….
At this point what normally happens is this person will begin seeking answers; then turn to the place they feel has them, the people they feel have them, a church. That’s where most of it goes wrong…..
I have heard a few men preach truth but very few…..So the new Adamic seeker listens week after week doing all he can do in becoming a first rate Buddhism because that is his best self possible? You might hear it called Lordship salvation; and think that sound so right how could it not be? but then bad lies the ones that dont sound so right do work very long and this one has been around a long time. Confident that in this effort, he is proving his faith to God, himself, and those around him? He looks no further?
No its not works to be saved its works because he already has been???
    This is a lie……
While its going on he is going to hear about repentance and ya why else would he be here its happened, he hates the sinner he is and is proving that by working as hard as he can to change…..yes he is still sinning, but just as the Buddhist is told, well it takes time, so to is he that we will always sin but just keep doing what you are, God will meet you at the point you get to ….if that is you get far enough? How very Muslim?
Believe, repent, gain the gift of faith, receive baptism in the Spirit, that is the journey. That is Christianity!
Simple enough, but how, where, why, what, are all these to begin with?
At some point all your efforts are going to fail you, after all Adam is the problem. We are being saved from what we are, clearly the what we are is not going to be helpful in that?
The single greatest truth about Adam is that Adam wants to run the show….Adam wants to drive the bus….Adan wants to be in control, have the power, be god. To repent is to concluded that can never work. Not even a little bit, and turn to God for something that will.
If you get to step three, you’re going to need God; and what you really have at this point is not God it's a belief, a concept born of scripture, logic, proof, all good stuff, but it still boils down to knowing about Him, and what you need is to know Him….. So you seek Him
I mean you look for Him like you would your own lost child, with a determined desperate purpose.
Scripture says if you do He will be found…..
Romans 10 17 says ἄρα ἡ πίστις ἐξ ἀκοῆς, ἡ δὲ ἀκοὴ διὰ ῥήματος Χριστοῦ.
The translation in most bibles reads So faith from hearing - and hearing through (the) word of Christ
That’s probably why most pastors encourage you to read scripture…ask them yourself. Will reading scripture build my faith? If I don’t think I have faith will I get it reading the Word of God?
I think the answer you get is going to be YES, YES, YES….. But that’s the problem That’s why I included the Greek; that is not what Paul is saying…….
Paul said ῥήματος (rhēmatos) that’s the term second from right to left Paul used in this passage, where he is instruction the church where faith comes from?
He could have said λόγος (logos). Both are translated (word) in English, but they are not the same thing in Greek. The Bible is the λόγος (logos), What you hear preached at a service I hope is the λόγος (logos). But the only way to receive the gift of faith from God is by ῥήματος (rhēmatos).
This is literally to Hear Gods voice, to hear Him speak, to personally encounter Him….This changes a belief into something much more, it changes knowing about Him, into knowing Him.
I encourage you to look up this passage in Greek yourself and to translate the term you find there to know if what I'm saying is true?
So you believed, and that brought you to repentance, that caused you to seek, seeking you found; at this point you have faith. That is very likely enough to bring you into His kingdom. We are told he gave all those the power to become children of God. Even at this point you can still turn away; however, I think it quite unlikely. Yet sin is still a constant problem. The only way to begin to have victory over sin is to walk in the Spirit, also understood to be a baptism in the Spirit. To receive power from God to see truth, to love, to demonstrate wisdom to become a peace maker. Not as a new and improved child of Adam but as a child of God.
That’s it, the four steps of the longest Journey any of us ever take, and too few do….

@@aerosmith2233 I have no way of knowing the extent of your sin or the bondage that you are in, but in my own experience, I found that the Lord is powerful and stronger than the enemy and my flesh. I also know that the situation with sin is desperate enough, that we have to do whatever necessary in order to remove ourself from it. That's what Jesus even said to cut off our hand if needed (Matthew 5:30). Not that I'm advising you to cut off your hand, but theoretically removing yourself from whatever it is it is causing you to sin. It is imperative, and so much is at stake, that we have to overcome. And with Christ, all things are possible. The bondage that sin has over us is not as strong as it would like us to think it is.
We go to Jesus by faith and we overcome by faith. By faith, you can overcome sin and you must come to Jesus for remission of sins, by faith.

This also is in the Bible: _If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness._
We may be criticized for this, but I believe all of the Bible is true. Some people may only take part of the Bible, but I will take all of it in as much as I am able.

My initial thoughts on this are that the command to repent doesn't go away. Maybe a person is convicted to repent, but they don't right away, but later they do. Well, that is better than not obeying at all, isn't it? _But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first._ (Matt. 21:28-31)
