I was in my teens and early twenties in the 1990s, and Salt n Pepa was one of my favorites. It really was a golden age for girl power groups no matter the genre!! The birth of the riot grrrl movement and all. BUT salt n pepa really didn't make any apologies and expressed their sexuality. But they were also classy at the same time. Their collab with En Vogue on their song "Whatta Man" is a bit of a different take and really appreciates men for all the good things they do. But Salt N Pepa were themselves and they were great.
Just saw them Perform a couple years ago when they went on tour with New Kids on the Block Naughty By Nature Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. It was called the mixtape tour. They can still bring it. It was an awesome show.
The male rapper at the end was Big Twan! He also appeared with them live in at least one television performance where Salt, Pepa and Spinderella did a medley!
I only knew because of a live Salt N Pepa medley I found on UA-cam that featured Salt, Pepa, Spinderella and eventually they introduced Big Twan to do his part of Shoop! Spinderella also rapped in Whatta Man in the same performance! Just search Salt N Pepa medley! I believe it was originally on MTV or VH1 but I don’t know! I stopped watching both those channels in my twenties which was long ago! Okay maybe not so long ago but at least 19 years! 😂
This was kind of revolutionary back in the day as no one was really making music with women talking about men the way men talked about women in music. All part of the female power LOL
I think one of my small scale favoritest YT reaction things is watching males react to SnP, especially this song.... I've yet to see a single one where it didn't at least cause a "Iiiiiiiiiii wasn't expecting thatttt....." to a good degree, then plenty of shock, thirst, surprise, and offense taken in various mixtures during them. These SnP reactions you've been doing are a lot of fun. I enjoy the positivity and laughs lol.
Thank you! I love your reactions and this is one of my favourite songs. I annoy all my friends because I still know all the lyrics and insist on singing it whenever this comes on.
Before I watch I have to say love the shout out to Half and Jai with the merch. The genuine love and support in the reaction community is so awesome, And I say before I watch because I’ll get wrapped up in the reaction and forget. ❤️🙏😇
Back then 12inchs sounded good until one day I saw one,I was like where you about to put that? not in me no sir,it looked like a huge snake with veins lmao some scary shit trust
salt and peppa were pioneers for all female rappers and female artists in general. Their frank lines about sex were so rare with their tell it like it is stories with killer hooks and beats. They really don't get the props they deserve cause a lot of today's female artists owe their carreers to these three uber talented women. Billy, if you haven't alraedy by the time i'm watching this - check out "let's talk about sex" (was banned everywhere and slammed by right wing media controlled radio stations and tv channels) but like all their stuff it has a great beat with heavy lines on top. Thanks for keeping great music alive (PS - anyone else old enough to have gotten grounded for teaching their little sister the lyrics? of course she had no idea what she was saying but i'm lucky i'm still not grounded lol)
It was definitely in deadpool lol, when he was sitting on the bridge before he jumped through the roof of the suv. Watching your brain register the lyrics you were hearing had me done lol.
When this song originally played on the radio they did not edit out the word re***d,which came after " twelve inches to a yard have you sounding like a.. "
Lawl there's not enough blood in a man's body to get twelve inches ready for action - bro'd be passed out with a half-chub cause there's not enough blood left north of the border... xDDD Anyway YES do more Salt-N-Pepa! they were/are amazing and I still listen to them to this day. Also try listening to "None of your business"... wait I just checked and you already did. Okay, ngl anything Salt-N-Pepa will make me happy.
Yeah..... I've dated a man in the “1%” and ummmmm..... 1/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. The most painful shit I've ever been through in my life. The recovery time is just not worth it.
i was 9 yrs. when this album dropped & my mom bought it, but i wasnt allowed to listen to it "too young" she said....😏 shiiiii, so i jacked it & hid it under my bed (she didnt play it enough to notice). she worked nights so after school, soon as she wSas gone, i was LIT bumpin it all night. "none of your business" was the 1st rap song i learned DVERY word to. and, kmo, that ish still slaps, though it's one of their most overlooked tracks. 😔 (*same with the Chris Rock / Charlie Murphy movie CB4. wasn't supposed to be watching that either & you already know, that's exactly what it was! 🤣 ALSO, just as overlooked. still love that ish, too)
They really said males always obejectifying females' sexuality, so we're flitting the script! SNP said "we'll own our bodies & objective men right back"! They truly walked so groups like TLC & Destiny's Child could run & sore!
Girl empowerment…..we like sex too and check out men like they check us out. I’m happy I lived as a teenager and young twenties during this time. I rock and stand up for my self because of it…check out “none of your business”
Correction…Salt -N-Pepa walked so ALL female rappers could run, lol. 💯💯 The original Queens from Queens. 👑👑👑 Push it , Tramp, My Mic Sounds Nice, Shake Yo Thang, Everybody Get Up, Expression, Independent, Let’s Talk About Sex , Shoop, Whatta Man. All Legendary Hits 🔥🔥
I wore this cassette out back in the day good thing my mama didn’t know. 😂 I used to be able to rap it all, My Caucasian country self.
Shoop is my ultimate middle-aged white lady karaoke goal.❤️😂
whats a cassette?
My kids hate me. I say “here I go, here I go, here I go again...girls what’s my weakness?” And I’ll keep on until my kids reluctantly say “men” 😂
😂
now you need to do Whatta Man with En Vogue. And just En Vogue in general. My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get it) for sure.
Free your mind 🎵🎶🎵🎶
And Don't Let Go - Love that song!!
Also their song Hold On
YES YES YES
It definitely wasn't the holy spirit 😂 Billy your faces kept me dyinggggg
I embarrass my grown daughter by rapping this song when it comes up on my Spotify playlist. I LOVE these ladies! 🤣
This song still stands above today’s music
100% agree
I am a millennial and I still like some of today's music.

@@jessicashive3836 it was
My family know not to play this in my presence unless they wanna see me do a one-woman SaltNPepa performance... including the guys part. 😆
this is definitely my fave salt-n-pepa song
Hands down!
HAD ME ROLLING 😳😳🤣🤣 Thank you Billy
I can't believe that to this day, I can still remember every single word to this song 😂
Because they have talent. I cannot stand this muffle rapper crap now.
This is such a good song live...saw them 2 years ago on tour with NKOTB & Naughty By Nature.
The male rapper at the end was Big Twan! He also appeared with them live in at least one television performance where Salt, Pepa and Spinderella did a medley!

*Respectfully*
Such talented women! Singing while performing those non-stop, aerobic dance moves. I loved (and still love) it!

Absolutely 🤣🤣🤣
Same!
En Vogue, "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" - you will thank me, sir.
This song is raunchy as hell and gawd I love it!
The ‘90s were a great decade. Women have lost so much ground since then.
Thank you! I love your reactions and this is one of my favourite songs. I annoy all my friends because I still know all the lyrics and insist on singing it whenever this comes on.
I’d love to see you react to Giving Him Something He Can Feel by En Vogue
You crack me up mr billy you so thirsty 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your facial expressions are priceless for this song. Hahaha!! Love it!!
The faces you made! Love it!
Before I watch I have to say love the shout out to Half and Jai with the merch. The genuine love and support in the reaction community is so awesome, And I say before I watch because I’ll get wrapped up in the reaction and forget. ❤️🙏😇

I'm a Old School Salt-n-Pepa fan. Love my girls. You made me laugh soooo hard in this reaction. You're great!!!!!
Shoop and Whatta Man! 2 of the best songs
I freaking love Salt n Pepa like I first heard this song in Deadpool but I fell in love the group after xxx
Love the reaction. You should look at the colab they did with envogue what a man

How am I just finding this video?? I just saw them in concert in June haha love them still!!
I love these ladies! 🖤
I got this CD when I was 10. I still have it to this day. So glad I grew up with 90s rap!
You had my cyin 😂😂😂 this whole video. Loved it.
"Let's talk about sex" was on the same album! These pioneers killed it in flow and style!
Amongst the mumble rap of today, the flows back than were hilarious, ok lol
Facts. Today's music is trash.
We danced to this when I was on the dance team, 7th/8th grade. We also did Pumps and a Bump, Shook Me All night Long...😳 I did know the meaning lol.
Back then 12inchs sounded good until one day I saw one,I was like where you about to put that? not in me no sir,it looked like a huge snake with veins lmao some scary shit trust
😂😂😂😂😂
Billy you so funny! 😂😂

Love Salt N Pepe 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
Omgoodness your reaction was fabulous. The scoobiedoobie childhood show was a fav of my husbands as well.
Love this song cant help but move every time you hear it
Yes in Deadpool when he’s sitting on the overpass. But I know this because I went to college in the 90s lol.
BRILLIANT reaction 💜
My fav from them. I had this tape!
It was definitely in deadpool lol, when he was sitting on the bridge before he jumped through the roof of the suv. Watching your brain register the lyrics you were hearing had me done lol.
Damn I’ve never seen the video, straight fire!
this was in Deadpool lmao and I haven't heard this full song in a grip and I know all the words lmao
This was pure class, in the day.
This whole album is good
Bless those aggressive girls
Respectfully 😂
It is in Deadpool
i remember in 3rd grade I knew all of the words to this song lol. didn't know what i was repeating tho, i did get sent to bible camp that summer lol.
Thank you!! I requested this when you did Push It!!
You're asking the Lord? Lol
When this song originally played on the radio they did not edit out the word re***d,which came after " twelve inches to a yard have you sounding like a.. "
Hahaha 🤣 D-E-D 😂 You're hilarious!! I can still sing this word for word.🤣 I also agree: react to EnVogue, Give him something he can feel.
#HalfandJai "Good Vibes Baby" #BillyYSC
Love your reactions. Especially from 80's and 90's music
It was in Deadpool. He was s singing it before he dropped into the cars.
Lawl there's not enough blood in a man's body to get twelve inches ready for action - bro'd be passed out with a half-chub cause there's not enough blood left north of the border... xDDD

😱
Your face though 😂😂😂
12 inches?!! I would f*ckin run away!! Anything more than 7 inches is a waste and is physically painful.
2:58 😂
The nineties were the best decade in terms of fashion, music and dance!
i was 9 yrs. when this album dropped & my mom bought it, but i wasnt allowed to listen to it "too young" she said....😏 shiiiii, so i jacked it & hid it under my bed (she didnt play it enough to notice). she worked nights so after school, soon as she wSas gone, i was LIT bumpin it all night. You know how it is when you drink you see double so it was really only 6.....not 12......lol
This was considered provocative. Lawd knows this is PG 13 in comparison to what is being played now
They really said males always obejectifying females' sexuality, so we're flitting the script! SNP said "we'll own our bodies & objective men right back"! They truly walked so groups like TLC & Destiny's Child could run & sore!
These women were super super hot to me when I was a teenager. Was totally in love :)
Love it!
Steve Earle, Copperhead Road
The one white guy in this video makes me laugh my ass off every time 😂😂😂
Here I go here I go again that's the shit
Love your reviews, check out some more Digital Underground and some OG's like Run DMC, Whodini.
Definitely a spicy as hell video, but that's how it was done back then. Damn I miss the 90's.
Spicy back then. PG-13 compared to what we see today
Girl empowerment…..we like sex too and check out men like they check us out. I’m happy I lived as a teenager and young twenties during this time. I rock and stand up for my self because of it…check out “none of your business”
They was flippin the sexist thing of men ogling at women. Starting some revolutionary thing back then lol.
If im not mistaken Pepa had a baby before making this video .
in the 80s and 90s they have mor liberty than now , now is all full of traumas
So Billy, the question is...Salt or Peppa? My choice was always Salt.
They basically took it to the men like the menused to take it to the women back in the day and it was awesome
Took a quick look at the thumbnail. Clicked the video, thinking you were ImDontai lol.
React to whatta man by salt n pepa
😂😂😂😂😂
Do some technotronic
great song check out TLC
Hey could you react to Beyoncé blow? And btw I love your reactions
They're spicy and they're shocking, but they're not saying anything male singers and rappers haven't been saying to women for years.
