Very interesting Mike your words about the Jurassic Dinosaurs and how they evolved .

I have been of the opinion for a very long time that certain species of dinosaurs - like Dilophosaurus - had more and more protruding head ornaments with increasing age. What we see are only the bone cores, but how much mass had once really grown on these bone cores?
So I could also imagine that the head of a T.Rex became more and more bulky with increasing age by appropriate osteoderms possibly at the eye bulges and at the back of the head as well as on the muzzle.
Most representations of dinosaurs show an anatomy that exactly reproduces the skeleton shape and skull contours that were never seen in a living animal, because perhaps huge jaw muscles widened the head considerably to the side, ect.
The extent to which the external appearance of animals and, for example, their skulls can deviate is very well seen in some whales. We should also consider this in extinct animals.

I’m so glad I found this video, Dilophosaurus is my favourite dinosaur and I’ve been looking for a good comprehensive way to find out about the new discovery ever since it came out.
All I could find were articles pointing out that the Jurassic Park dilo wasn’t accurate

i love the papo model, the old safari model is so. interesting. my favorite thing is to find dinosaur models and sculpt them to look more like their updated versions to add some realism. safari dilo might just have to remain uncannily out of proportion 😅

I'm not really sure which Dilophosaurus figure I like they most. They all have subjective issues. CollectA usually jumps on and makes fantastic up to date versions of dinosaurs as soon as new studies are announced, so I am confident that they will make something great.

We have lobbied CollectA with regards to updating their Prehistoric Life CollectA Dilophosaurus figure, hopefully a new Dilophosaurus will be made soon.

I prefer the older Safari Ltd Dilophosaurus model myself as opposed to the 2020 version.
I'd like to think we might get a new scientifically accurate Dilophosaurus model that's beefed up to our latest knowledge from a company at some point.
Collecta perhaps or Safari Ltd could give another attempt at Dilophosaurus again in the future?
