Please keep more content coming. I have been paper and printing crafting for a long time. I just got a laser cutter and really want to combine the two crafts. Your content is perfect. The camper trailer is so fantastic and these keychains are exactly where I want to start. I will be attempting these today :)
Thank you, I will make more videos, I just had a little setback. I am working on bringing it back on track. It will take some time, I am doing it all by myself with 0 budget :)
We have been looking for someone like you Sir to be able to create cut lines for graphics. We use the Mimaki UJF-6042 to create Direct To Substrate gang sheets but finding someone to create the cut lines for the laser (trotec cause it has cameras) is almost impossible. What is your email and where are you located?
Hello, thank you but I am not available for hire, my info is available in the about section and I can answer a fiew questions, thank you for considering me, I am located in Norway.
@@mymagicsigns Yes, I saw that when I looked at your website. I actually work with a company AmCad graphics and cutworks who get a lot of their machines from Norway.
I've seen your stuff, nice equipment, i used to do a lot of work in the print side in the past. I am working now at a 3 episode mini series in which I am going more in deepth on design and file preparation, it will be a Doll House, but that is just because I could not find a lenghty and complex enough project. The doll house is irrelevant and what you learn there is relevant also for your type of work.
Seems like a lot of work to make 5$
I've made a keychain for demonstration only, you can apply this technique to add prints to any project, and as for keychains, you can fill the page with them as I've explained in the video, but I see you have'nt watched the whole video, so you missed the point. Watch it again, and check this one out ;) ua-cam.com/users/shortsPPkDCmHBT-o?si=QWbUgiYJzmd2Jta7
why i have no neighbour as you :))
Very nice, thanks for the tips. Especially the alignment tip, its such a pain in the rear to use crosshairs, and I am always off by half a milimeter!
Great pieces and technique, thank you for sharing!
Thanks, I can say the same, I've watched your videos in the past, don't know why I wasn't sub, but now I am. I am putting a free resources website, if you have any suggestions for sites with free stuff that is less known by the community, please share :)
Amazing creative idea. I wonder how acrylic would stand up? Also it might be overkill but I wonder if some coating that is cheap could cover them.
Thank you, It would look great as a wood/print/clear acrylic sandwich, I was also thinking doing resin doming, there are lots of way to make these. That's what I am trying to demonstrate with my videos, that there are many ways to do things, and we should consider them all. Make do with what you got! I also try to keep it available for anyone, I have access to expensive toys, but the regular Joe only has a dumpster find printer and a diode laser at best. See you in the next ones!
@@mymagicsigns I like this resin doming or bubble idea but even resin has it's limitations with yellowing over time.
Maybe two thin acrylic layers acting as the lamination cover. Sandwich the image in-between to inlay into the border. And laser cut a thicker piece border cut of acrylic to encompass the laser cut sandwich.
Great work
Nice video.. you can just use book sticky laminate . And use wood glue to stick paper to wood. 😉
Thank's, when I use regular paper the wood glue wets the paper and it does not look as clean, but it works well on thicker paper, like photo paper. There are so many variations of this that you can do, I will make more videos on this subject.
I'm curious, what kind of double sided tape is that? I've bought a few types of double sided tape before, but none of them are suitable for a project like this, because they're either too thick, or don't have a protective layer to peel off.
@@andrewsnook8168 I use the generic type I find in the local hardware store, it's like scotch tape but with adhessive on both sides
@@mymagicsigns Ah, I see. I couldn't find anything quite like that near me, but I did find something on Amazon.
Love this work dude....may i know where you are getting the art works for printing. It is very colorful. And is it freely available in any websites?
Thank you, for the ones that I don't make myself I use a local install of Stable Diffusion. And I also use Playground and Lexica.
Thanks! Very helpful! Don't want to waste money on a Scan n Cut if I can use a cheap diode laser.
Thank you, That is the whole point of the video, to show another way.
Any suggestion for the glue for paper to wood?
How is the resistance of the paper layer against high air humidity?
This is a GREAT idea, can not wait for my own laser!
I just use double sided tape, it works great for indoors even with high humidity, I did not try it for outdoor use, but I guess some resin for protection and you should be good to go!
Dont u have a camera?
This process would be easy if u had it
I do, but this process is for everyone, and 90% or more laser cutter owners don't have a camera.
I cant get the same size to print and exported svg any suggestions
Print at 100% scale / Actial size, if it's not the same as the cut file, play with the output ratio.
I like it. Thanks for sharing, nothing last forever so if I were to get a year out of my keychain, I could say good enough for me. Keep moving forward with this.
Thank you, I will make more videos, I will try to find original ways to use the laser.
Very useful.... loved it.
I like this very much - have you considered applying the laminated sheet to the plywood before cutting out the shape? Do it all in one pass?
Thank you! I explain that this is possible also, and I do that sometimes. There are so many variations for this, I will cover more in the next video.
very interesting technique, I can see many uses for this, thanks!
Nice

Thank you
Thank you, check out my short videos for a sneak peak of my next one :)
I love this idea. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you like it, there is much more to explore, I am already working on the next video on this subject, I hope it catches on, tired of seeing only wood and paint.
Agreed! I would not have considered this. The more tools in the toolbox the better! I'm already thinking of how I can integrate this into my niche. Thanks again! @@mymagicsigns
@@motoguy1 My next one is about Walls/Buildings/Houses, Print&Cut of course, what is your niche?
what type of laminate are you using?? i thought PVC is bad for lasers?
Hi, I use PET Pouches, as most laminating pouches are, since Chlorine and Cianide releasing plastics have some commercial restriction when used for thermal equipment, now if you live in a bad country like I used to, they don't care about the rules and you should read the lable, this is not a video about laser safety.
But in the case you want to use PVC sheets, The cold laminating ones can come in PVC plastic, I think you would still be OK, as the sheets are so thin as most of their thickness is glue, just don't breathe it in, have good ventilation.
@@mymagicsigns you are probably right it would not be a big health hazard, but the chlorine also corrodes the metal quickly (really bad for the linear rails).
@@NickSpirov I know, but not at those thicknesses, I would have to burn o whole sheet to barely corode the tip of a wire.
@@mymagicsigns maybe, maybe, I wouldn't try so I won't know 😜I've seen the stains on the rail, they look like mold.
If the thickness of your material is 3mm or less, you can use the laminator to apply your print to it. This is really handy if you have a full sheet, you can easily stick it with perfect adhesion and no bubbles. Polyester sticker paper is good for this application, you can skip the step with the double sided tape. Maybe still use the laminate pouch for protection.
If you are cutting the backing and sticker together, cover it with masking tape to protect the sticker from smoke.
Thank you, I only laminate the keychains, for the rest of my projects I use regular paper, and any wet adhesive you would use on regular paper will wet the paper and it will look bad, also the wood grain will show through easier if not for the double sided tape, I've experimented alot with this, and double sided tape is perfect for regular paper. If you use cardstock or thicker photo paper, you can use any adhesive you want.
Sehr interessant, werde ich auch versuchen! 😊
Danke! Vielleicht teilen Sie Ihre Ergebnisse mit uns, vielleicht in einem Facebook-Beitrag und hinterlassen einen Link für uns :)
what is the software you're using?
I use RDWorks for Laser Controll, CorelDraw for design.
Thank you!! @@mymagicsigns
@@pedromendes5684 You are welcome! I like RDWorks better than LightBurn since I use it only for laser controll and it has a way better node editor for quick touch ups.
what size paper is being used?:O
A4 size. But it does not matter really...
Not color lasering. Missleading.
What is missleading? It sais print and cut in the title 🤭
Deliberately misleading af.
Yes, the tile is print and cut with a laser, the picture in the thumbnail is with a full color laser project and the video is about how monkeys spend their weekends on mars!
