This video has got to be a few years old. The Marines no longer use the M1 Abrams, and, they were using Colt M4 carbines. The USMC adopted the M27 IAR in 2018, their designation for the Heckler & Koch 416.
Actually the Marines adopted the M27 in 2012 or 2013. I was an 0311 from '13-'17 and I was issued one. Prior to me hitting the fleet my seniors carried them to Afghanistan as well.
I am a US Marine Corps Gulf War veteran.....and this video is spot on. I feels guilty that I never talked with my dad about his combat in WWII yet, what could we have talked about?
Spec ops are different from elite forces (marines & paratroopers) which are different from standard infantry some of those spec ops you mentioned you have to be in the military first before working into those specific units.

@6:00 don't sleep on the Abrams. They have speed limiters that keep them under around 45mph. But if you take them off they can go well over 60. Iv heard stories as high as 90 in earlier lighter models. Screw a sports car going 200, when you can be in a 60ton monster doing 70.
I was a former Infantryman in the US Army. Both branches have the same hardware, but the Marines are specialized in different aspects of combat; primarily beach landing forces. The reason the Marines are called the "Tip of the spear" is because they open landing ground for Army heavy machinery and artillery. Marines are a specialized group for a specific purpose, as the Army encompasses a broader responsibility.

Yes the marine corps unfortunately shut down their tank battalions, as a former 0311, who was part of an amphibious platoon mostly amtracs and LAV25’s I worked alongside those in the tank battalion s and knew how good they really were, I’m said to see they are not part of the marine corps anymore
Yes, women can be Marines! Remember Bea Arthur, the actress? She was a BAM (Broad Ass Marine) and I think Betty White in WWII. The Harriers are gone now. The basket attached to the hose is flown into with the refueling probe to refuel the airplane. Some airplanes are refueled differently, where a boom is flown into a docking port on another to refuel. Usually the Navy vs AF refuel is the difference.
Hi, I’m not sure how to ask this, but it seems like Marines are bigger and stronger than guys in the other armed forces. I’m old, so I’m not sure if this is still true. I wondered why Marines were either chosen as bigger stronger guys, or, needed to be more muscled . Do you know? Can you address that?
Yes, that's air refueling, using the probe-and-drogue system .. This is an older video; Marines now fly the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II, as does the Royal Air Force, and the Royal Navy .
That line connecting from the aerial tanker to the harrier jet is an aerial refueling line. Most of our long distance aircraft can be refueled in midair.
I am a Marine Sniper and combat veteran. The rate of fire in the tank shells can be answered by armor. The 7.62mm can put about 4 rounds per second down range at a distance over 1100 Meters into a window. noticed that no amphibious landing vehicles were on the list. Of course we can swim to the beach from 2 miles out. But splashdown is fun in an amtrak

I am not sure of the "family" dynamics here (is Sophie Dana's daughter?), but I love that dana is reprimanding Sophie for not seeing Top Gun--hahaha, As an aside as a viewer, (a relatively newer one) who is related to whom? I know that Aidan lived in America as a kid, but where does Sophie get into the family equation--hahaha.
That's a mid-air refueling that the harrier was performing in the vid. Also, one does not need convincing to enjoy good art. If you don't want to watch Top Gun, or its sequel Top Gun: Maverick, it's your loss.
You guys were questioning what that "thing was". It is an inflight fueling system. The jets don't have to land to refuel, they do it in the air. Your own military also does this and it was a plus to helping you guys win the Faulkland wars. Jets only have so much air time on a single tank and need to refuel before they even reach their destination, so large fueling craft fly and the two planes meet up with the "tube" and the fuel pumps into the jet from the tanker.
3:48 I had to rewind to figure out what she was talking about. The narrator never said "Marine men". That's an awkward sounding phrase i'm not sure anyone says. But the narrator did say "riflemen" and "infantrymen" and those are just general terms.
Mom is right on the money with the movies she suggested. Those 2 movies would put this whole thing into prospective and you would get a better understanding of whats going on,
The harrier was being refueled by the hose. We have launched jets with minimal fuel because the max take off weight was taken by the payload. Then they refuel in air overweight and ready to engage at distance for longer.
Fun fact for you: USMC leadership decided that the Corps needed to get back to its' roots and become more 'expeditionary', and a 70 ton tank wasn't a part of the plan, so all M1A1 tanks were retired & placed in storage [there are storage areas for all ground combat vehicles and a separate one for aircraft. cool videos about them]. To make a long story longer, the US hemmed and hawed for months about sending tanks to Ukraine, and now we have them in Germany for Ukrainian units to train on, and those Marine tanks will become part of Ukraine's military in a few months. Weird fact: Marines are considered riflemen first, then they have their day job. I was a 5547- a tuba/sousaphone & bass player. I also went to Parris Island to become a Marine, and a rifleman. Since I was a tuba player, I was assigned to a M-60 machine gun team if we deployed to a combat zone, but I'd stay behind the wire. It is an amazing and occasionally burdensome thing to become a Marine, cuz from day one at boot camp to this day it is part of who I am and what I became in life. I was a teacher [Latin & ancient history] - and the only Marine veteran among my colleagues both at my school and in my county. Interesting frame of reference/perspective.
I see people mentioning Top Gun. Top Gun is used by the Marine corps also, the naval Academy graduate Marine corps officers, at one point they decide if they want to be Marine Corps officers or Naval Officers, over half the graduating Naval Football teams players for years have elected to become Marine Officers.

That is inflight refueling, yes theyare transferring fuel from a tanker to the fighter. If you like flying there is a video from the cockpit of the Blue Angels.
Yes mam - women serve in the corp. More and more jobs are being opened to female marines. The U.S. Marine Corp is special from the training to how they are deployed and utilized. It is my understanding that they and their gear can be ready to go anywhere in the world on short notice. One thing I know as a fact, is no one can do logistics like America, no one. In most areas of this subject we (the U. S.) wrote the book. My youngest son joined the Marine Corp when he was 17 years old. His main job is loading the rockets and bullets on attack helicopters. He has been to Japan and that region already. He recently informed me he is going to reenlist. They offered him an obscene amount of money and sergeant strips for a few more years. As a sergeant he will get a pay raise from day one... To answer a question from a moment ago. At 11:something they were refueling the airplane..

Sorry to tell you but they’re not “heroes keeping your country safe” by going overseas and putting middle easterners through endless hell and horrors so rich white powerful oligarchs in the war business can get more oil, land, resources, bodies, forced rape sex, torture, etc. who then laugh at them and you all and their victims. You can see they don’t give a shit. I didn’t see any of you supporting this terrorism be happy and thankful for 9/11 which is a proof of your supposed beliefs.
Are you safe by them causing 9/11? Are you safe from not affording healthcare? Are you safe from the gun promotion resulting in increased school shootings? Are you safe from racist/etc cops? Are you safe from the caste/class system discrimination? If they’re “keeping you safe” then you should be happy for 9/11 because that’s a proof they’re keeping you safe!
And last I checked, putting countless middle easterners like some of my friends through endless hell and then when they miraculously escape, IF they can and find somewhere they can go, they’re just “migrants” and “terrorists” and unwanted everywhere.
Yes the marine corps unfortunately shut down their tank battalions, as a former 0311, who was part of an amphibious platoon mostly amtracs and LAV25’s I worked alongside those in the tank battalion s and knew how good they really were, I’m said to see they are not part of the marine corps anymore
Omg it was a drone 🤦♂️that got on the Whitehouse lawn.
Avg speed for most ammunition after a sec go around 750ft/sec to 1000ft/sec
Yes, women can be Marines! Remember Bea Arthur, the actress? She was a BAM (Broad Ass Marine) and I think Betty White in WWII. The Harriers are gone now. The basket attached to the hose is flown into with the refueling probe to refuel the airplane. Some airplanes are refueled differently, where a boom is flown into a docking port on another to refuel. Usually the Navy vs AF refuel is the difference.
You guys need to see marine drill instructors messing with recruits, I was a marine as well and I know your gonna enjoy it
This is an old video I am in the Marines and we don't have tanks anymore and very few of those Harriet jump jets the marines now use the F35.
The most lethal force in the corp is the Marine. A killing machine. Trained first and foremost to take out all and any threat
Served as a radio repairman with a Marine tank unit for several years, was sad to see them get rid of tanks shortly after I got out.
Currently the Marines no longer use tanks. But, one point, a tank can go much faster than 10 mph.
Mom is right on the money with the movies she suggested. Those 2 movies would put this whole thing into prospective and you would get a better understanding of whats going on,
Marines are the tip of the spear.
*spear
Real life simulations until the few families chaos gets out of hand. Haha
The harrier was being refueled by the hose. We have launched jets with minimal fuel because the max take off weight was taken by the payload. Then they refuel in air overweight and ready to engage at distance for longer.
They're fueling it
btw nobody says marine man or marine person its just a Marine, men and women are referred as Marines
Aiden is correct about refueling.
That was an aerial refuel
Top Gun is pretty great
I see people mentioning Top Gun. Top Gun is used by the Marine corps also, the naval Academy graduate Marine corps officers, at one point they decide if they want to be Marine Corps officers or Naval Officers, over half the graduating Naval Football teams players for years have elected to become Marine Officers.
That "thing" was a midair re-fuleling.
Officer and a gentleman has got to the most epic romantic military movie EVER!!! I highly recommended you two get it and watch it.
I am a Fourth Generation out of Seven Generations of Marines. My GreatGranddad was in the Spanish-American War, Granddad WWI and WWII, Dad WWII 44 then Korea, Older Brother Vietnam and me 1975 to 1987, Son Desert Storm, Grandson Syria, Great
Grandson MCRD San Diego today 2nd Phase. 🇺🇸👍
Officer and a Gentleman is one of my favorite movies.
The scene when he karate kicks the guys face outside the bar is classic
They need to watch 'A Interview with a Vampire'
You’re a grown-ass person saying “A Interview…”?
There’s nothing in the English language like “a” interview! Learn how to properly use the indefinite articles, “a” and “an”. Geez!
Aiden Top Gun and Top Gun2 must watch. Definitely watch them in order. Big story lines that are not just Tom Cruise flying in fighter jets. Watch them you will not be sorry.
It's being fueled in mid-air.
Harrier was in the movie True Lies
I was in 3rd Light armored reconnaissance battalion with LAVs they were great the 25 bushmaster was insane with 2 m240 bravos I don't know the muzzle speed of the 25 but it has enough force to cause damage just by passing close by
Both Top Gun movies are top notch! You will not regret watching them.
Watch Iron Eagle!!!
My grandfather served in WWII. He refused to join in the Korean War because he said that he " fought the Japanese" , and to not want to cause harm to Koreans, after what he saw what the Japanese were doing to Koreans in that war. He was Honorably discharged because he refused to join the Korean War, a few years after World War II ended.
Yeah, but they were commie North Koreans, I guess it didn't matter to him.
I can answer that question, I am female, and I am a Marine. Since our oath of enlistment has no end date, we consider ourselves Marines until Death. I spent 16 years in the Marines and left to raise my daughters, with my husband who was also a Marine.
We in the Army know they are the Marine Infantry period, there are no pronouns in that job., but you can call them Jar Heads.
Surprised they did not mention the Osprey
You mean how it crashes and kills people all the time? Probably better they didn't.
that stolen tank was in San Diego not San Francisco but I see how it could be confusing .
I wonder if he hates that he was born in America? Sometimes he gives off that impression.
My uncles who where Marines one Korea one Vietnam used to tell me the corps is the first to go and last to know and then i knew what branch I would go into
That is inflight refueling, yes theyare transferring fuel from a tanker to the fighter. If you like flying there is a video from the cockpit of the Blue Angels.
They were refueling the plane in the air.
Yes, kids, listen to G. The two "Top Gun" movies are well worth watching. (There's romance, too, Sophie.)
Love you guys and office bloke Daz, I'm subscribed to the office blokes as well and love their videos too keep posting videos and I'll keep watching.
I much prefer younger Tom Cruise than older Tom (Scientology smh) so yes you have to see Top Gun and then Maverick the sequel. Amazing soundtracks!
Wait a minute! You’re telling me that not everyone with a drivers license in the UK is allowed to drive a sports car??
The Marines no longer have tanks.
The Marines are meant to get to the action in a hurry. They are air Land and Sea soldiers. An old video leaving out a lot of what they use.
I’m a former marine and I love all my brothers and sisters
Lol aiden called them the "Marine Corpse" its pronounced "core"
He is right. They were refueling midair.
Love your channel! Have you heard of the American rock band Van Halen? They were around from the late 70's to the early 90's. Eddie Van Halen and his brother Wolfgang were the founding members. Eddie plays Guitar and Wolfgang the Drums. Eddie was voted the best Rock guitarist in the world. Whether you enjoy this type of music or not, I suggest watching Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo, "Eruption". It is unbelievable the sounds that come out of that guitar. You WILL BE BLOWN AWAY! Mike D.
Film reactions would boost your channel. Top Gun should be reacted to.
:-)
This video is old. The Marines no longer use the M1A1 Abrams. Only the army uses the Abrams now. Also, the F35b is already in service and has been for some years now.
Tom Cruise is a weirdo, but he holds GOAT status as an actor. He's just so good at his job.
Uh enough time you wouldnt know lol. Plus idk about weapons but some weapons are like 1 piece but others are fragments? And these go far. So that power depending on structures im sure can penetrate 2 homes unless something solid can stop it.
Yes Top Gun the first one is very good, even excellent movie and I watched it probably about 30 times over the years. The sequel It's okay but you definitely want to see it after watching the first one.
I haven’t looked at comments, why m1 A1 tanks
My cousin Waymon almost Drowned while going through basic training
This videos old outdated. I no longer use the he Abrams. And they do use the F-35s.
It is so frustrating watching you 3 react to this equipment. “I don’t think it’s electric”. 🙄
USMC veteran. Hi to the lovely and gracious Sophie
