Great walk. Bear trail looks good. Shame Woolworths closed. Used to be one of my favourite shops when I was a child. You could get virtually anything in there. Airfix kits as well as pick and mix. Whatever happened to gob stopper😢. The way things are going, you could pay that now for pick and mix.

Pick and mix lives on at Wilkinsons. They have a sour cherry cola rollup, which fits the bottom of the cup perfectly, for maximum quantity. I like those bobbly-berry ones and the teeth and lips combo.
I live close to Petts Wood and cant believe that there were a few 'facts' about the place that I wasnt aware of, I do though fondly remember Woolworths there. Thats a great walk that helped make an enjoyable video.

Blimey! Last week Knockholt this week Petts Wood/Chislehurst, the places of my formative years. My first ever job was working for a picture framer in Petts Wood while (unsuccessfully) putting myself through art college. Three sweets: fizzy cola bottles, sherbet lemons, and twix if chocolate falls under 'sweets' otherwise honeycomb pieces.

Walked much of that route as part of the London Loop, which we are about half way through. Lots of it, especially along the railway can get extremely boggy in the winter/early spring. Pear drops, cough candy, rhubarb and custard.
Another walk close to where I used to live. Have walked in Scadbury park a few times and have enjoyed many a pint in the Daylight Inn. I even worked in Petts Wood for a while, and I remember the Woolies! Ah, the memories!

Well Marek. Seems like we have passed like strangers in the night as you are in my daughter's abode PW & I was in yours IOW for the past week. So while you were doing things I often do here, I was doing things you often do there...if that makes sense. Best part was 3 red squirrels who came every day at 6am & 6pm to sit on the veranda & eat nuts I put out for them. Made a change from feeding Gus. You defo would have been Col Edelman's bestie it seems! Train drivers often wave at me from that bridge, but SW trains need a 🖕by the sound of it. Oh my. My dad used to buy me these choccy knobs filled with toffee back in the day...jumblies he called them. I've never found them anywhere now but I'd have them. Elizabeth 1st visited that manor when she came out to see her subjects... men were excavating the site last time I was there finding all sorts of bits! x J x

One sat right next to me at 6am munching away & didn't bat an eyelid. Mad. Also hares. They have huge ears🐰My family got chased by a herd of cows up on the downs at Blackgang on the way back from The Pepperpot. I thought of you! The holds a special place in my 💚....x J x

0:40 Thought the 2 behind you were robbing the place for a split second. 145 quid, ouch, sorry that happened to you. When I was a lot younger, I was travelling home on a Southern train with a Thameslink ticket and honestly didn't know. Up until that point, I don't think I'd ever spent more than 2 seconds looking at a train ticket. Still to this day I remember being rigid with fear, and thankfully the man let me off (probably a certain degree of gender privilege too, that's not lost on me). I can't remember what was available at the pick n mix, but if they had chocolate covered raisins I'd get a bag of just that, very tasty.
I was unlucky enough to be on the same train as the revenue collection special ticket people. It must be a horrible job but they were also total arseholes.

Those discs are always deceptively nice. Cola bottles were a close fourth. I think I needed a different texture so I went for milk bottles.

145 quid, ouch, sorry that happened to you. When I was a lot younger, I was travelling home on a Southern train with a Thameslink ticket and honestly didn't know. Up until that point, I don't think I'd ever spent more than 2 seconds looking at a train ticket. Still to this day I remember being rigid with fear, and thankfully the man let me off (probably a certain degree of gender privilege too, that's not lost on me).
I can't remember what was available at the pick n mix, but if they had chocolate covered raisins I'd get a bag of just that, very tasty.
I was unlucky enough to be on the same train as the revenue collection special ticket people. It must be a horrible job but they were also total arseholes.

Yes, it is not logical. The more heads means more people so it is sort of an inverse rating system.

You have to pay the train ticket £45, plus a £100 penalty fee. They reduce this to £50 if you pay early. I have appealed. Fingers crossed.

Unbelievable from South West trains, who I will now add to the list of travel companies that I refuse to use. Hrummph on your behalf! It's them and Ryanair at the moment.
