I'll always love how the Byarlant became the first mobile suit capable of untransformed, unassisted hovering and flight - not by virtue of a lightweight design or clever technologies, but because it brute-forced that achievement by being loaded with high power thrusters running on full power. It may not be the most efficient or elegant of machines, but it's cool, and it was first.

@@Astronopolis I see 'The-O' as essentially being the final boss suit of the series akin to the Zeong being to the RX-78-2. As such, it can be said that both the Zeta and Byarlant make for good arch-enemy suits due to both their excellent high aerial and space combat abilities.

Byarlant is made for air superiority on earth without fancy transformation system and without minovsky drive system, brute forcing its flight capability with massive trhuster. simply a very crude yet effective solution
@@mikloridden8276 don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad. I actually love the Baund Doc specifically because it's such a doofy looking piece of equipment. I think it rocks but it's objectively dorkier looking than the byarlant

Ajis's death represents the Titans' crumbling public image when their savagery fully exposed to the world brought Karaba and the AEUG more supporters, and the Federation disavowing Titans.
Makes me wonder how this thing could have performed if it didn't have "Mr Friendly Fire" at the helm. Love the Byarlant and its variants, but damn Jerid was terrible.
Honestly, I've always liked him. The fact that he nearly saved millions of people by murking haman before axis returned give him a lot of good points. Besides it was Aeug that was literally funded and founded by axis to be their useful idiots and vanguard.

And I know you're referring to the AEUG making a disastrous alliance with Axis despite the fact Char outright opposed it but was overruled and Haman Karn ain't honoring it anyway, setting both AEUG and Titans to wipe each other out while she and Neo Zeon have the upper hand as shown in ZZ show.
Lol well, the flight time is much longer than most mobile suits, so it is realistic that long transport to the battlefield would require a subflight unit, and would conserve precious fuel for dogfighting.
At Apoly's death scene, it could be avoidable as Rick Dias' cockpit which also the escape pod are in the head but for some reason he didn't use that function and die…

Crazy that the Byarlant was one of the few Titans mobile suits remaining and it took part of fighting off the Zeon Remnants attack.

何に乗っても敵ニュータイプとの戦闘記録残して機体を持ち帰ってくるジェリドは、機体開発関係の人間にとって極めて貴重な人材だったと思う
ガンダムシリーズのTV作品としては初めて変形無しで単独飛行が可能だったMS。
劇中では主にジェリドが搭乗して割と後半まで活躍した機体でもありましたね。

He was struck right in the torso and the Rick Dias cockpit is not an escape pod. It may look like one but it wasn't.
