God, that’s such a good bit with “Do something great for the trailer”.
Jacob is a PHENOMENAL actor
I'm seriously torn on whether or not it would have been better to reveal that his storming out was a bit. I'm positive Sam had someone cut it both ways, but I wonder how that tension would have sat if we didn't get the reveal.
@@foxxtrot There was no real question that it was a bit, they wouldn't have put it in the trailer if it were for real. The question would have been more the specific nature of the bit and what it was in reference to. The reveal that it was specifically a Sam Says 3 prompt rather than Jacob just doing something as a gag was more questionable, but considering the prompt itself was "do something for the trailer," I think it worked well this way. The only way it could be better is if that prompt is *only* in the trailer.
I *needed* to know that it was a bit. That was really uncomfortable, and waiting any longer than we did to find out that it was a bit would have made it worse for me.
Having said that, I'm thinking there still more to it. There's probably some extra fun building up to that moment.
It was amazing. Even knowing it was probably a bit, his acting was so good that you still believe it.
@@Jason_BryantI agree, I was finding it pretty uncomfortable before we saw the prompt, even though I know Sam and the team wouldn’t do that kind of drama like other reality shows etc.
The way my heart caught in my throat when Jacob started yelling at Sam.
I was terrified until I saw the prompt "Do something Great for the Trailer"
Then, cut to, the prompt being "do something for the trailer" was golden
the total forgiveness flashbacks do be real with that segment

I knew it had to do with the game but Jacob is just soooo good it made me feel real bad. Then the prompt came up and I just died laughing.
I love getting all worked up for a new Dropout trailer and then sadly realizing that there is no one in my office who could possibly share my excitement

I saw Jacob storm out and then the TV says “do something great for the trailer” I mean…. I had to pause the trailer because I started dying of laughter
absolutely perfect cinematography. Camera Op needs a commendation for that comedic timing.
I was so confused, because Jacob seemed so convincing but I also thought...Sam would be mortified if he actually upset one of his friends and colleagues during one of these games, surely he would never air it. Then it all came together to a hilarious conclusion

The fact that I was not scared at all Jake was genuinely upset really speaks to the integrity of Dropout
I was like. 99% sure it had to be a bit. But there was a little part of me that was like. "But what if???"
While I was scared that something bad had genuinely happened, I trusted dropout enough to believe that it was something that had been worked through, not just enough to earn forgiveness, not even just enough to stay in the show, but that even if something had happened to garner that reaction, it had been fixed so thoroughly that Jacob/sam/whatever other editing forces there are would have allowed it to be shown in the trailer as something worthy of the game changer name.
I was genuinely convinced Jake was storming off set. The guy is a Juilliard trained actor, he knows what he's doing.
I realized a bit ago that one of the things that makes the Dropout game shows so good is that while everyone is there to play the game, they’re also there to hang out and so you get a much more positive environment than most game shows and it really makes them unique!
Yeah, I was very confident that they would never let something go so far that someone would storm off set - let alone Jacob Wysocki of all people!
Seeing Nathan actually makes me a little emotional. Drawfee needed some time to be its own thing after it split off from dropout/CH, but I'm glad to see some Drawfee/dropout mixing is still possible.
I always wondered if there was some animosity post-split. There used to be plenty of CH guest-starring on Drawfee, and then after THE THING it was down to just occasional appearances by Caldwell, who himself is a former Drawfee regular. Oh, and I think one or two appearance by Adam Conover, but like Caldwell he's very much _ex_ College Humor, and not really tied to them in any official capacity.
I also was like NATHAN YAFFE???? And I also saw Caldwell in there somewhere!!
@@romxxiiI believe I hear Drawfee are on the East Coast now? Which makes scheduling more difficult. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though...)
@@MagmaRiverDrawfee were always on the East Coast, but CH used to have an East Coast office and Dropout does not! (I think CH used to be all NY, then they moved most video production to LA, and then Dropout was LA only)
@@romxxii They've done a TON of stuff with Carolyn, who's fairly regular on Game Changer/Um Actually. She and Nathan also stream together sometimes! And Julia at least seems to still be in good terms with former Dorkly people since that's where she mainly worked at CH. I think it's just geography plus who they got to know more and feel comfortable reaching out to for collabs. Back before the layoffs I think there was a lot of crossover to promote Dropout, which was still fairly new at the time, but now that there's not corporate overlord pushing *synergy* it's just down to scheduling. I think a lot of their guests now are people they crossed paths with organically, many from the art or animation world.

@@blunderbass851 Drawfee used to be a College Humor subsidiary, up until the great firing. Back then there was plenty of crossover, with Brennan showing up in a few Drawfees, and the Drawfee cast having their own little show on Dropout.
Once Drawfee became a creator-owned property, there wasn't much crossover. Frankly not sure if there was any hostility between them and Sam. Hopefully Nathan guesting means everything's all good.

This show is absolutely one of two different moods depending on the episode. 1) Sam brings people in so he can sit around and be wowed at their amazing talent (like the karaoke or noise boys episodes). 2) Sam tortures his consenting friends for internet comedy.

More Vic, more Brennan meltdowns, and more Grant skin? YES, PLEASE. Also, I love how "upset a producer" was as simple as unscrewing some lightbulbs on the set, but now we have the entire set covered in graffiti dicks 😂Give the producers a raise for dealing with that chaos! 😁

I’m so excited to see Nathan. As a huge drawfee fan and dropout fan I’m happy to see you folks doing stuff together. Even after Drawfee went independent I hoped there’d be some crossovers still. And I’m not disappointed. (I see why you didn’t have Karina, she’s too powerful. Although she’d rock in a yu-gi-oh episode of um actually.)

God I love Game Changer. It's just consistently fascinating, but I also love that each episode is not only completely at the mercy of the new game, but also the contestants chosen for that game. I just imagine Sam sitting in a dark room with all of the game ideas thinking to himself "Who will suffer the most with this game..."
And hot damn, Wysocki brings the tension and then IMMEDIATELY dissolves it with just a line. Every time I see him on a show, I know I'm in for a good time.
I love that Sam is rapidly reaching knew absurd heights that would be considered insanity on any other "streaming or tv channel" and yet here we are happily chanting for more

I was dying at Jake's prompt reveal... Actually had me worried for a second, confused as to why they would add that to the trailer for a few more, sold when it was revealed.
Nathan really did a good job in this one. It's so great seeing his continual improvement in art. But I can't believe they locked Jacob, Julia, and Karina in the Green Room Escape Room just so Nathan could go hog wild.

Sam is a perfect american and this is a perfect trailer. It leaves no room for you to be disappointed by the product bc of misleading clips creating false expectations. You know what the show is about, and you are fully intrigued as to what the heck the games this episode are that could lead to these clips.

lol, the last clip with the button reminds me of the latest Bob's Burger episode where the kids get stuck in a room and can only communicate with the outside through a voice changer from a clam statue.
