My great aunt Maurine had a custom one made as a secretary with a slide out typewriter.

Do you perfaps still own this trunk? :)

I was told that it sold at a Christie's Auction. There is a matching regular trunk but it resides in the top of a barn beside the mother of all hornets nests. lol sorry.

The problem with antiques nowadays if they are “not designer” then there aren’t antiques. This is what pisses me off, a lot of great antiques out there without the Brsnd name recognized today yet not accepted by Christie’s or other auctions places

Which is even weirder because the brands are even older then Louis Vuitton which is crazy

    Very conservative…
Not the time influences those trunks, but these trunks set the travelling times
    and pacing tempo.

It's a shame the Louis Vuitton products these days still draw the same price, but have none of the quality.

Everything these days is all garbage made in China.

To be fair LV is still making these by hand in France using highly trained artisans. Their vinyl/plastic bags that all the hype beasts carry around are trash though.

Interesting I wished you showed the trunks in detail instead of just opening them for 2-3 seconds

Alright but why an ironing board trunk? How about you iron everything before you leave?

These trunks were made in an era where only the top 1% travelled and when they did they went on tours that lasted months or even years. Often these trips were to places that were considered "exotic" and had little, if any, of the conveniences they are used to at home. Therefore they brought everything, including servants, with them and you can imagine why these people would require trunks that have a desk, bed, or ironing board.

no, todays designer are too lazy and making ugly products, I have old antique suitcase from my dad and they're far more better than today's LV (mostly)
