Leading up to this fight, they specifically acknowledged previous Batman episode correctly using his basic street-battling gadgets and stats. They made this episode with a different take in mind: removing their limits and just giving Batman and Iron Man everything they have regardless of how viable it would be to randomly have in a fight. This episode was super requested and an obvious stomp for Iron Man under normal circumstances, so they waived the rules to have fun and answer the actual debate everyone was having.

Well it ultimately happened even after they publicly refused to do it because Batman was later given the Hellbat suit. Without that suit, they would never allowed these two to fight on their show.
@@xboxclown8922 Hellbat was around for Black Panther VS Batman. They even specifically address it in the podcast. They just didn't use it because it wasn't something he would normally have access to (being a final emergency procedure requiring two leaguers and hidden on the moon). Which was absolutely correct. But for this episode, they just gave them everything to make the fight fun and fair.
Goku Black vs Reverse Flash is definetly one of the best episodes this season. I'm sure you'll like it too since you love speed characters so much

Both are geniuses and it's hard to say who is smarter. However, they work in different ways. While Batman can find a solution for everything with what little information he has, Iron Man tilts the playing field in his favor beforehand, stacking multiple contingencies for every occasion. That means even assuming Bruce can counter all of Tony's schemes as fast as he can come up with them, he's by definition always playing catch-up, putting him at a disadvantage by default.
Just for clarification sake Batman hellsuit never actually beat Darkseid because all they way through Darkseid was beating Batman if it wasn’t for the McGuffin that Batman stole form Darkseid that redirects his omega beam, he wouldn’t have knock back Darkseid a little, that and Darkseid just didn’t care enough to take him out

It's not a McGuffin if it actually accomplishes something in the story. A McGuffin is only a McGuffin if it could easily be replaced with anything else without changing the plot.
My favorite line here is "Bust this". It encompasses batman so Well. He is sassy AF in the comics more often than not (when he's not being handled by someone who believes Batman is brooding incarnate)

The song used in the fight was a piece Death Battle commissioned from Brandon Yates. It apparently was heavily inspired by AC/DC and Black Sabbath songs used in Iron Man.
Batman does have a Wonder Woman contingency plan, it's to inject her with nanites that trap here in a VR battle with an opponent whom his her equal, basically causing her to eventually die from exhaustion. They also don't mention it in this Death Battle (mentioned in Batman vs Captain America), but in the comics Bruce was once deprived of sleep for days, drugged with a combination of unknown drugs plus the Joker's Venom toxin, put into a straight jacket, buried in a coffin 6 feet underground and managed to get himself out
Her canon weakness is also being tied up with her own lasso. She looses all her powers for a time.
You're definitely going to enjoy the next one, it's arguably one of the best episodes of not only the season, but the show as a whole.

Thinking about it The Hellbat's weakness reminds me of the Flash's "weakness" in the DCEU where he is constantly needing to eat because he burns so much calories from his speed, which makes sense since the flash did help create part of the suit
Before you watch the next episode, I recommend you go back and watch the fight for Flash vs Quicksilver again. Trust me, it will be important.

I personally wanted Batman to win, because I just think he's cooler. But as soon as he just went straight to the hellbat and not any other the other suits (like seriously why mention them then) I knew he was going to lose.

He's befriend galactus.....made a pocket universe for fun...its hard to describe what he is capable of (though last I checked....lost his powers)....and this was before he he puberty

@@restaurantworried8031 his power is/was is on the cosmic level. warping reality to his fitting, has telepathy and is telekinetic....his power is so great....its hard to tell what he is capable of as he gets older. one idea but due to it being him from another universe....was able to destroy to celestials (as an adult) and ressurect a dead galactus to be "his" herold (vs other way around). i think only reason he isnt in a death battle because its hard to find anyone who'd have a remote chance. I believe right now he is a teenager (maybe 15)

Interesting little tidbit about this episode: for the first time since Thanos vs Darkseid, DC and Marvel are currently tied with wins on both sides (12 wins on both sides for all 24 Marvel vs DC episodes).
So the next marvel vs DC fight in season 9 will be the tie breaker.
And most of them involve Batman getting his butt whooped...

I can help with that since I was assigned to read a few Batman comics and watch their movie versions for my college sociology class (my professor is a Batman fan). The Dark Knight Returns and Under the Red Hood as well as the alternate universe story Gotham by Gaslight (which has a different villain from the comic) are really good ones, I also recommend The Killing Joke which is actually about the Joker but it’s an interesting watch. As for live action films, try the movie series by Tim Burton (the only film series I have seen, first two I recommend) or the trilogy by Christopher Norton (haven’t seen it but it’s widely acclaimed), there’s also a new one that came out as well starring Robert Patterson which I also haven’t seen but I get tons of Little Caesar’s ads about it. Hope this helps a little and sorry it went on so long, didn’t realize just how much research I needed to put in about the social behavior of a fictional character for one assignment. 😂 At least it was easier than my Jack the Ripper assignment, you know, because they were never found.
The new Batman movie "The Batman" is an adaptation of "Batman: Year One" where we follow a young Bruce Wayne that's still learning to be Batman. Both the comics and the movie are really good, worth a watch.

Ironman made the Metaverse but Batman has the Dark multiverse where theres countless evil versions of him with powers ranging from Being a Green Lantern to having the speed force and even being turned into Doctor Manhattan
I don't know if it's something recent, but Batman does actually have a contingency for Wonder Woman now. Batman's contingency plan exploited Wonder Woman's competitive nature to the fullest. A nanite virus was placed inside her ear, which trapped her in virtual reality to fight endlessly against an opponent that was equal to her in every way.
This episode is really good I love the editing during the iron man analysis in particular, but they did get some things wrong even if realistically the result is probably still correct. The 2 main things is that the hellbat is not even the best batman suit in terms of power. They mentioned but kind of brushed over the final bat. Also there is no earlier version of the godbuster the suit they claimed was, was actually pretty much unrelated. Still, a cool episode
There were earlier versions of the Godbuster. The first was an armor built by the Celestials during the first Celestial-Aspraint War (later given to Tony & Arno) and the second was made by Tony himself to fight a host of Dark Celestials Loki was controlling.

What Zelda game are you thinking about playing? My first and still favorite is Majora's Mask, which I started playing without realizing it was a sort of squeal to Ocarina of Time. However you don't need to of played OoT to enjoy MM.
MM was them attempting to turn out another Zelda game as quickly as they could after OoT. Both were originally for the N64, but were later remastered for the 3DS. MM reuses a lot of assets from OoT, so a lot of characters return, some even getting split into two characters. However they largely don't have any connection to their OoT counterparts, so it isn't necessary to know who they were. Some have similar jobs as before while others have all new ones.
MM is also shorter, not having as many dungeons as OoT, but they found a way to keep it interesting and extending play time. OoT has you face off against once of the most famous big bads in the Zelda franchise while MM has it's own final boss who I don't recall seeing in any other game.
There are some small call backs to OoT, but nothing major and I'm sure the commenters would fill you in if you do a lets play.

@@thedrunkgiraffe8312 Prior to that battle I had NEVER heard that anybody wanted them to fight and I'm a huge FF fan. The only other place I've heard it outside of DB fans is when Smash Bros added Cloud and there was that banner of him squaring up with Link. I've never heard it in either FF or Zelda fandom.

I feel like Batman was originally planned to win this. Seemed like there was too many times in the animation where Tony kind of lucked out, and even the music's ending sounded like it was a Bruce victory.

I don't necessarily disagree with the outcome but I do have issues with the events of the animation. Batman is super paranoid about hacking and builds fail safes into all his tech. Also batman is trained in martial arts to have complete awareness of his body at all times he would know if Iron Man had planted nanobots on him

Batman I believe has the most losses on death battle. Spider-Man, Black Panther, and now Iron Man. Yes he best Captain America. But I don’t count the Terry McGinnis win since that’s not Bruce. (And I guess Nightwing has been Batman albeit briefly but Dick Grayson is ALSO not Bruce. A fact he takes pride in)
This fight was great. Wish they went with more Batsuits to keep us on our toes a bit more. But if he was going around sapping people to keep himself going, he could have possibly won. Tony wasn’t going to wipe out people to take away the option. And so long as he didn’t pick innocents off, Tony would want to stay in the game. Not make it something else. But yeah. Tony had this one.

In a review movie called The Death of Superman by, I wanna say Max Landis? There's a joke about how if Batman fought Doomsday in the run it would have resulted in something as simple as them killing doomsday by shoving a sponge up his butt. Because Batman is that stupidly smart in prep for everything. Hell he killed Darkseid with a gun he made specifically to kill Darkseid. You know the literal chaos God being thats practically unkillable?
When he gets to prep for an opponent Batman is unironically one of the strongest beings in DC despite being just human.
But yeah I think batman doesn't have suits like Tony on a regular BECAUSE he's already pretty busted as he is as a regular dude that just uses his fists to beat the shit out of everyone.
batman does have a plan for wonder woman. i think its a virtual world where she has infinite opponents and she cant say no to a fight so she'd fight them all and eventually she will have a heart attack.

Honestly, while I understand their logic behind this and can accept the outcome, realistically there wouldn’t be a lethal battle between them. XD They’d have no reason to, for one, and for two, Batman doesn’t kill and I doubt Iron Man is stupid enough to think anything short of having the entire Avengers team present for such a battle would save him from the incoming wrath of Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, etc. who would 100% grind him into dust for killing Batman. And even then he probably wouldn’t do it cuz the civillain casualties of such a battle would likely claim over half the human population. If he were to take on Batman like this his goal would be capture, not kill. He’s also smart enough to know coming at the Watchtower with force ALONE is stupid. It’d be better to try to negotiate with the Justice League first, and them come with at the very least Thor or Hulk backing him up if that didn’t work.

Tony's characterization was really close to the source material in my opinion, but I honestly feel like they portrayed Bruce like too much of a dumb, strong, mindless brute.

The issue I mainly have with this (and most deathbattles) is that many of the suits and feats come from different iterations of the characters, you can’t just put the god feats that one iteration has with a different iteration, that’s why the multiverse is such a big deal for both dc and marvel. So instead of mashing specific versions of the characters together, I feel it would be more fair to analyze the average feats displayed by the characters that can be assured to be apart of their stats from the majority. Or by putting their strongest or weakest version of each other in the ring, without the feats from the other version with them. (Just cause they’re the strongest version doesn’t mean they can do the same or have the same equipment as other versions.)

Death Battle doesn't let any morals about not killing people get in the way. That's why Batman won in one of his episodes.

I've heard lex actually hacked the hellbat before but I'm not 100% sure.
It could also be argued that Tony's use of AI gives him an edge when it comes to that kind of thing because Batman usually doesn't use an AI; Tony can focus fully on the fight and have his AI handle the hacking while Batman has to divide him attention between the physical and digital threats so he's far more likely to overlook it. And if Lex hacked the Hellbat, then Tony certainly can given time though I think Lex did have a lot of access to the suit during his brief stint as a good guy (again.)

It comes down to prep time and strategy, given enough time to study his enemy and come up with countermeasures, he can beat anyone. Honestly, Tony might be the one opponent where prep time wouldn't do Batman much good since Tony is just as intelligent and obsessed with building new armors.
