At first glance it might look like a port of the PSP original, but it isn't exactly like that. Aside from controls that were adapted to match the typical Wiimote + Nunchuk control scheme in most Wii games, there are actually MANY differences mainly in terms of level design and even their length, a very noticeable example of it is the first stage, where they even added a small cutscene that wasn't included in the PSP version. This also affected the weapon parts placement, where they are in different places. Another notable difference is that Eidos decided to tweak the special move acquirement system, where you no longer have to buy them with the yellow orbs you've picked, instead they are automatically activated for you once you reach a certain amount of yellow orbs for each.
As for the plot: Death Jr (or DJ) along with his classmate Pandora, have to find out what happened to DJ's father who's disappeared mysteriously, during their mission they are also looking for something for their Biology project (DJ mentions something about him being grounded for being a bad student so he depends on that project to get a good grade) though this latter thing is not that relevant here.
When you start the game, you can choose either Death Jr or Pandora, the only difference between them are weapons and nothing else, even the whole plot is the same for both, and despite only showing off DJ's POV here, you are not missing out on much really. There is still the original PSP version that is still yet to be covered, that one will be gone through as Pandora to balance things.
The game also features the ability to use ranged weapons. You start off with the pistol, and you either get new ones or upgrade what you've acquired by finding weapon parts. Depending on the circumstance, some weapons can be very effective, especially if lots of enemies are surrounding your player. Rocket launchers (and literally anything that is explosive) can be useful against mini-bosses or any of the only three bosses in the game.
Upon completion of the whole game for the first time, you unlock every single FMV of the main plot and the so called 'storybooks' which are just sketched stills of each FMV. The latter is obviously skipped over since it's completely pointless.
I miss this era of spoopy games, would love to see the series come back with accessible controls so more people can give it a go!
This game is freaking cute. How have I never seen it before? Had no idea it existed and that’s tragic.
This game deserves a remake or another entry in its series because it is so good!
Man this game has character and charm. Maybe this can get a remake one day.
Hold on a second I just realized that seep sounds like rocket raccoon from guardians of the galaxy which means they're likely both voiced by the same guy
Edit: my mistake I just now realized they are in fact not voiced by the same guy but holy hell do they sound similar

Huh…well surprisingly the game looks fun so hopefully I’ll get a chance to play both the games for psp whenever possible
@@masterdrewt6698They're both pretty fun imo! Though the first game struggles with proper camera controls, but that's an issue with many 3D games on the PSP.
