  • Craig L. Byrd of Cultural Attaché talks to bass-baritone opera singer Luca Pisaroni who is making his house debut at ‪@laopera‬ in Rossini's "The Barber of Seville." It will also be his role debut as music teacher Don Basilio in the opera.
In this interview he discusses the idea of there being no small roles for a performer, the role of one particular music teacher in his life and he discusses the concept of slander and rumor (the themes of his major aria La Calunnia E'Un Venticello) as it applies to our modern world.

What a great interview. I was Luca’s dresser on Barber. He was so dedicated to this role. I love and respect him immensely. I’m paraphrasing, but the great Leontyne Price said when you perform a role, you give it your all, BUT you must love giving it your all because the audience knows when you’re not. Luca embodies that ten fold. Luca if you ever read this….BELIEVE!! You know our private conversation. ❤❤
