I can’t believe I’ve had a big set of all the zip binding system for 10+ years and I’ve never even opened the package. You make using it look so easy! I feel a bit silly for being afraid of it now. 🤦🏽‍♀️😂💜

How about a simple 1-2-3 system....this is soooo confusing....I love the KISS system...keep it simple sweetie! And then lefties vs right handers had my brain saying Whoa, Nellie! BACKUP and turnaround! LOL But thank you for your dedication to helping the poor ole souls like myself who are always looking for methods to improve our skills! :)

Sorry; I don't think I've ever said this method was easy to learn! But it works! I've pretty much told anyone that if you want a simple get 'er done method RIGHT from the START that this is not it. But if you're willing to learn then this method pays off big time in the end. But it takes time to learn for most... As for the lefty-righty thing - I understand as I have had to deal with it all my life!

I like to do a flanged binding where 2 contrasting strips of fabric are sewn together width-wise, to make a binding strip of e.g. 2.5 inches total width. The binding is folded in half as per normal but is initially sewn to the quilt on the back, not the front. Then the binding is rolled over to the front of the quilt and secured using stitch in the ditch on the seam that joined the contrasting binding strips together. Effectively the flange part of the binding is the lip and is on the top of the quilt, rather than on the back of the quilt. I am thinking the binding tool adjustment would be the same and the binding tool would simply be held upside down when sewing stitch in ditch on the front of the quilt. Is this correct? And can you see any problem with the SND sewing foot? For example will the flange fabric on the top of the quilt affect the ease with which the quilt moves under the foot? I have neither the SND foot nor the zip bind system at the moment but would purchase them if you think the items will work for a flanged binding. ua-cam.com/video/9DGNhbaA-3U/v-deo.html BTW: I have a Juki TL series machine TL-2200QVP Mini which has foot pressure adjustment (mechanical) and normally I use a walking foot to attach binding.

I'm not sure I can answer but from what I think you want, I don't think this system would be able to do it better or quicker than other methods. It's meant for the traditional method of binding. Good luck!

@@Lindavideos Thanks Linda. I guess I'm after a better finish than I currently get. I don't expect to save time. I'm after a smooth consistent sized lip (flange). I think I'll still buy the zip bind tool and SND foot and get back to you with photos in a few months. I like my tools - I'm that kind of girl! Happy Christmas

I bought the stitch in the Dutch binding foot with fences a long time ago but never used it. Instructions were too difficult to follow. I recently bought the Zip Bind System but having difficulty accessing some of the uTube videos. Found this one but have to agree with another person you talk way too fast, so it’s still not making a lot of sense. Could you tell me where is best to access these videos please.

Poor presentation. Just need a simple demonstration of how to use this equipment even if it isn't straightforward to learn.
Are there any more demonstrations available?

Sorry to hear that this wasn't helpful to you. I have a bunch of videos in my Zip Bind Playlist, but this is probably the most straightforward. There are several short videos that are from the Martelli Minute Series so you can check them out.
These tools are made by Martelli & I filmed them when I worked for them. Here's a link to my Playlist where I have more videos including the Minute Series (one minute videos!) on particular tools. ua-cam.com/play/PLIzgfFmf8SoXVEd8NvkO_qBV89wmpmlnx.html

Hello. I left a message about your system..#1. Which shaft adapter should I use with my Neechi Supernova? #2. I did not receive a DVD video nor instructions like you showed as part of the complete kit; can I obtain these so I can learn more slowly or gradually, stopping when I need to? #3. I’m just not getting your system. I need help and hope to hear back from you soon. I’ll call again, leaving my email as well as my phone numbers. Thank you,
    Michael Elinski.
    Happy holidays. Merry merry...

Hi - not sure if I've spoken to you on the phone by now. Martelli's office was closed for the holidays. I'm not about the Supernova but I can probably figure it out by talking to you on the phone. Martelli no longer offers a DVD as it's out of date as soon as it's pressed. It's much easier to put out new video info with UA-cam these days. But you can call & ask for a DVD. (850-433-1414). It doesn't have all of the videos that you'll find on my UA-cam channel - Lindavideos - - but it has the basics. Usually, when someone doesn't 'get it' there's something that you're doing that works with other methods but not these tools. I can usually identify the issue over the phone & get you on track. Feel free to call me at 850-449-0259 & I can help you out.

Hi Sue - I understand. I have demoed these tools for years at the tradeshows and always have lots of questions so my goal in this video was to answer those questions. Thanks for the feedback.
