Hi people. Just want to address a few things regarding this game. As mentioned our opponents aren’t the issue, they’re a good bunch of lads and we look forward to another battle.
The stand in ref we were told was qualified but that is neither here or there. The home team are entitled to use anyone, even a player. Had that been the case we’d have offered Troi to do half each with them. That didn’t happen because we were told we were in good hands. That unfortunately didn’t pan out.
As for reporting, we marked him low but not being a ref in our league I’m not sure how contact would be made to give feedback. On the topic of showing this as evidence, it’s there for all to see but any chance of having the result turned in our favour won’t happen, it doesn’t work like that. What’s done is done and hopefully it’s one we can firmly put behind us. Thanks for the support!
Props for being the bigger man and not throwing a fit about this. A lot of other people would be tracking his social media down and doing something they'd regret. Have to hope it all washes out over the course of the season and the best team (palmers) wins the league regardless of all the bullshit. COYP

Smiv I’m glad you can keep a cooler head about this, because this is fucking bullshit. Every game you guys are getting BLATANT decisions not given, and this game literally shows everything you’ve had to deal with every season. As a fan I’m fucking sick of this. It’s not just “oh the ref missed it.” The ref literally looked at troi. And EVERY ref does this to you guys, by just one.
Normally I’d be like you smiv, just accepting it. But I’ve never seen so many obvious calls get ignored. Other teams MUST be paying the refs off. If that was true at least there would be an explanation.
These refs need to have some fucking pride in their job. They clearly love football because they wouldn’t be refs otherwise. How can they feel good about what they’re doing? They consistently fuck results up with apparently no care in the world. They just collect their check and fuck off.
Something more needs to be done than a simple report. These refs need to go. Fuck, I’ll get my license renewed and I’ll go live in England and ref every game I can physically do, just so teams can get the quality reffing they deserve

Palmers FC , I’m a referee, I counted at least 3 yellows, you should be down to 10 men along with their team.. defo penalty to you lads, theirs based on camera footage only thing I can really see Is a minor grab by your player but not enough to go down... are you sure he didn’t issue any cards... the referee doesn’t actually have to “show a card” he can simply inform the player in question “you are being cautioned or sent off” - clearly no reds today as no 1 left although I do count 2 reds in there. But it is possible he may of cautioned players... if he is actually qualified he would know about this and should of had at least 3 yellows in that game minimum
A shame more people aren't like Troi... he had to ref what... 2/3 games in the Reserve video and called it right down the middle, even didn't talk to the Palmers boys to remain unbiased, shame this ref wasn't like that.
MarkFerg I’d argue in one of the games that troi made bad calls, but lie you said, he stayed away from the palmers boys trying to show no bias. He TRIED.

Yeahbi see hes checking the offside line for free kicks, where i dont ha e a problem, its other part of the game where he is too close and therefore has a bad view of the different phases

Real shame about the ref this happens a lot on in Sunday league unfortunately!
If a referee doesn't show up and a replacement referee can't be found (as in, one from the league), then both teams have to either agree to select a person to for all intents and purposes, become a referee. If you don't agree on a replacement, then the match is postponed with no consequences.
Know your rights Smiv, if you don't agree to this person being a referee then you have every right to call the game off.

Nothing more frustrating than a ref with an agenda. Always a replacement ref, and surprising how often it happens in big games. Cheating, especially from linesman, is the worst part of Sunday League Football. May as well have not turned up for this game, they were never gonna let you win it.

I've been reffing in the FA Academy League's for a while now and whereas I appreciate these things happen at lower levels, this chap was by far the worst example of a referee I have seen in almost 20+ years in the job at any level. Matt, I would find out the name of this individual and report him to your local County. If he's local then even if he doesn't ref in your league, he'll probably still be registered with that County. May be worth contacting the RA (Referee's association) as well as they may have records of him if he's a member. If the complaint is serious enough, they could enforce that he re-takes (whichever current level he's at) his course again. I know it doesn't get you the 2 points back but if it stops this clown making such decisions in any games he refs in the future then that can only be good for the game! Gives the rest of us a bad name! Anyway, onwards and upwards, still unbeaten! COYP

Well played Palmers! You get more respect having a genuine league position than one aided by officials! You then start to ask if Palmers are the only team this season to suffer from unfair play. Even against 12 you didn't fall! Keep going lads excellent performance!
Referee’s had a shocker their, fair enough he’s stepped in and done a job, a lot of people wouldn’t, but some of those decisions?? What makes these videos so brilliant is how easy it is to relate to them, there’s been loads of time when I used to play I wish it had been filmed because of how brilliant is was, keep up the good work smiv all the best hope the little one and the missus are feeling better

As a ref, his only mistake was the penalty at the end. The first penalty is not visible. You cant call what you cant see. The 2nd pen he already had the ball off his foot. The amount of pressure he got from the fans impacted him 100%
Toolstation should sign him up! He's about up the quality of most refs we get in the Western League!

Haven't watched Palmers in month's I'm back.
To be fair. That’s a tough game for the palmers. You have to say that the ref really did make a poor call, he knew what he was doing. I feel for Palmer FC took this very well and respect to you guys accepting the situation and pushing on for the upcoming league games.
You guys deserve a better FA, honestly all the teams in the league do!

This is actually too funny. Imagine seeing an offside flag and than allowing play to continue which leads to a penalty. I know it's not Troi's place but man was I hoping he went to the ref after and told him he was offside before the "foul" just to hear his explanation of why it was completely ignored. I think a good system would be if the referee can't show up either each team must supply a ref for a half or do a 2-man ref system who are each responsible for the line and are co refs. This is just sad on another level

You knew from the first 5 mins that was happening. We have all had one of those refs at some point where they seem to be reffing a different game to the one you are playing

What an absolute cheat! You were spot on at 12mins - he helped them take a free kick quickly so was determined to get them back in the game. Didn't ignore the lino flag for THAT offside did he. Such a shame when teams have to cheat their way to victory. He must have some affiliation or link to their club.
Definitely been brought in as a mate of the other team.. no doubt about it, where did the added time come from? I understand the lack of cards, but only if he isn't a qualified ref..
I've been there had my goalkeeping criticised.So I dropped down to 7aside
Must have been the same ref in our local team's pre-season game (3rd best Danish league, but still).
He showed up like 15 seconds before the game should begin, game was delayed 10 minutes because ref realized he'd forgotten his cards!
Game turned out very nasty, lots of hard tackles, players shouting at each other & the ref, yet his agenda without cards was clearly "let's keep our voices down and try to talk the problems through, alrite?"
That was a good match, some good quality and battling performances The ref probably had his son playing for the other team, split loyalty, does he ref fair or does he help his sons team?. Looking at some of those tackles reminds me why I play tennis and squash rather then Sunday league football!.

Big fan of the new format here. Obviously a full extra would be better, but that isn't sustainable. This feels like the best alternative.

Ha funny thing we had a ref like that AWAY but he would also give a free kick for calling "it's mine" or "keepers" and give free kicks for the slightest touches so we couldn't even shoulder to shoulder without the ref blowing his whistle

They got two goals which if a qualified ref had reffed you would have won because the 1st goal should have been stopped because of the head injury and the 2nd goal the player was offside before he got sniped. The ref was an absolute disgrace
