10:35 Virgin means less processing (refining). Cold pressed from olive to jar. Flavor can vary from company to company, region to region and the cold pressing. The extra virgin usually is the best of the best olives are chosen from a yield. A word of caution avoid cooking with the extra virgin or virgin since it has a lower smoking point than the refined olive oil. In other words, it takes a lower temperature to start burning. Why that version is used mostly for salad dressing or something other than cooking with. With that said, my preferred brand when making home pizza is Goya's Puro Olive Oil. It's a blend of refined and extra virgin olive oil made from Spanish olives. To me it's the best pizza oil. Love the flavor it adds to pizza. Great video and thanks!!

In Spain olive oil use to be relatively cheap only 2-3€ for a litre of extra virgin, in the last six months the prices skyrocketed to 9-10€ a litre of the same oil today. Three years of low rain and the increase of the cost of pretrol made this crazy increase in the price of the oil. I don't know in other countries but if you didn't notice this price increase is because they prefer to export instead of selling it inside spain

To clarify the reason why the cacao from the Ivory coast and or West Africa is inexpensive is because of the type of cacao which is called forastero, like the palm oil the tree yield more beans per hectarea. However, there are other kind of cacao beans such as trinitario and criollo. Trinitario is a mixture of forastero and criollo. That is the chocolate that you get when you eat a dark chocolate bar and in average have 50% and up of cacao. The criollo is Produce mostly in Venezuela and is consider the best cacao in the world.

Yes indeed. I used to call the grocery store down the street when they would have a new hire. I'd ask her if they had Olive Oil in a bottle? The secretary would always say yes for some reason. The issue with that, back then that store only cared it in the can, so I didn't feel sorry at all when I'd drop the next line on her.
If you have Olive Oil in a bottle, then Popeye is on his way and he is so mad and just ate a can of spinach.
Some would get the joke and some not so much. It's almost as bad as Damper Dan in a can too. His wife was so mad he would hide inside a can. Lol

Extra Virgin Coconut oil cheap here in the Philippines cause one of the largest coconut producer heck we even have 2 trees in our garden just don't park your car under it😂

Man Popeye is getting really angry with you talking about Olive Oil's virginity now.
The younger generation probably hasn't even heard of Popeye and won't get the joke. Sorry I grew up watching Popeye and the man that played Popeye in the movies was a Mr. Robert Williams. I think I was 40 when I found that information out and it was only by chance.
I looked it up to see when the movie came out and saw his name there. He was such a great actor and it's ashame that he was never able to get the help that he so desperately needed. Doesn't fair to well for me if a multi millionaire can find the help.

Vanilla , last pric i heard was over $150 :00 . per ounce . 3-4 beans , soaked for months in a small vodka , will get you vanilla essence .
Cocoa , is another which has to be hand polinated . The pods are quite strong , and each country , which produces chocolate , which has a distinct flavor , for each country . Yumm .

Πολλές μεγάλες αλλοδαπές εταιρίες έκαναν όνομα με το ποιοτικό τους λάδι που ουσιαστικά ήταν ελληνικό..

Blimey another cracking video off in a unexpected direction from the previous 😮 And then there were the animations 😂😂😂 I knew that obviously a lot of intensive work goes into the production of these spices but it's Crazy when you look at how much is needed for so little produced. Who on earth originally found the three stems of crocus gave delicious flavouring but not that of another plant? Or that they have to be dried in certain ways to work? The intense work on all was astounding! My butchers sell beautiful extra virgin olive oil, it's divine and so much nicer than vegetable or sunflower oil that was all I could afford when I first left home. Switching up just made everything taste so much nicer 😊 Really fascinating video, definitely need more similar for a series from you 😊

I wonder how many more Americans love that Parmesan to put on their pizzia? God knows I used to love it so much. Then I found out that the crap I was loving so much, wasn't parmesan cheese as that stupid label says it is.
No, since real parmesan cheese cost in the thousands for a block of the stuff.... Like seriously they will use a block of cheese as collateral to buy a new house where it is produced and made.
Over here on my side of the great pond we call the Atlantic Ocean, we got something we call parmesan cheese too and it's a faction of the price. I have to ask now, how many Americans love eating wood? Would you love a little packed of flavored wood to go on top of the $25 pizzia we just sold you?
I have had the pleasure of tasting real parmesan cheese and there is a freaking huge difference in taste my friends. There is no equal to or great than to real Parmesan Cheese. But I will say this, until you know the real difference, just keep eating the wood my friends. You'd have to certainly take out a loan for a few tasty grams of cheese.
Don't get me even started on Real American Cheese that we put on everything. Even when it is made with real 2% Milk. Sorry Kraft, I want that fatty fat fat milk in my cheese thank you very much. Oh wait it isn't cheese either. Damn you American Government for allowing this crap.

    Bee Movie Script

    According to all known laws
    of aviation,

there is no way a bee
    should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get
its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway

    because bees don't care
    what humans think is impossible.

    Yellow, black. Yellow, black.
    Yellow, black. Yellow, black.

    Ooh, black and yellow!
Let's shake it up a little.

    Barry! Breakfast is ready!

    Ooming!

    Hang on a second.

    Hello?

    - Barry?
    - Adam?

    - Oan you believe this is happening?
    - I can't. I'll pick you up.

    Looking sharp.

    Use the stairs. Your father
    paid good money for those.

    Sorry. I'm excited.

    Here's the graduate.
We're very proud of you, son.

A perfect report card, all B's.

    Very proud.

Ma! I got a thing going here.

    - You got lint on your fuzz.
    - Ow! That's me!

    - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000.
    - Bye!

    Barry, I told you,
    stop flying in the house!

    - Hey, Adam.
    - Hey, Barry.

    - Is that fuzz gel?
    - A little. Special day, graduation.

    Never thought I'd make it.

    Three days grade school,
    three days high school.

    Those were awkward.

Three days college. I'm glad I took
a day and hitchhiked around the hive.

    You did come back different.

    - Hi, Barry.
    - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good.

    - Hear about Frankie?
    - Yeah.

    - You going to the funeral?
    - No, I'm not going.

    Everybody knows,
    sting someone, you die.

Don't waste it on a squirrel.
    Such a hothead.

    I guess he could have
just gotten out of the way.

    I love this incorporating
an amusement park into our day.

That's why we don't need vacations.

Boy, quite a bit of pomp...
    under the circumstances.

    - Well, Adam, today we are men.
    - We are!

    - Bee-men.
    - Amen!

    Hallelujah!

    Students, faculty, distinguished bees,

    please welcome Dean Buzzwell.

    Welcome, New Hive Oity
    graduating class of...

    ...9:15.

    That concludes our ceremonies.

    And begins your career
    at Honex Industries!

    Will we pick ourjob today?

Edible oil refinery operation manager here! Olive oil is a very healthy oil, but it is NOT meant for any heat. It is not a good oil for cooking food in, seeing as it's mainly sold as a virgin oil.
All cooking oils have to go through a refining process, mainly physical or chemical refining.
Why does it need to go through this stage to be able to cook with it? Because a virgin oil has allot of impurities that does not cope well with heat, giving off sour and burning sensations in your mouth or throat. The last thing you want to taste on your steak is sourness.
Why do chefs cook with it then? Mostly sponsors and olive oil companies paying money to the chef's to cook with it. That's why you never see people deep fry with olive oil, it's not made for that application.

When speaking of fake vanilla, u all forgot to mention Castoreum, which comes from beaver glands. It's FDA approved (which should say something) and there r many foods that use it in place of vanilla to make it less expensive.

in that first piece about Olive oil, the dishes are CORNING WARE, and my mom and grandma got theirs in 1974, when my aunt in Connecticut found the sets on sale. Mom still had her complete set, and uses them nearly every day! The "Ancient Mixer," on the other hand...while my grandma used a big industrial unit when she cooked for the School District, from the 1960's until 1996, our current unit, she bought BRAND NEW...in 1992.

05:20. Id like to see you try eating even a handful of freshly picked olives 😀 They are not good, no matter how big of an olive fan you are.

Theres no such thing as "cheap vegetable oil" any more.
The price has more than doubled (some tripled) in all stores and now costs more than the equivalent quantity of diesel or petrol per litre!
As a result, here in the UK theft of used cooking oil has skyrocketed. Its either blended with diesel to be sold as fuel or blended with new or newer oil and sold back to restaurants as a cheaper alternative! Yuk who knows how many times its been used!

I refuse to buy ANY product which contains Palm Oil on principle. Just read the ingredients. (compulsory to be included on the labelling in the EU and UK)

Italy doesn’t produce enough oil to meet demand. Italy is one of the largest consumers of Greek olive oil. They blend it with their own and since it’s bottled in Italy, it’s still listed as a product of Italy. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I personally like Greek oil better.
