as a prior service member looking to join, i appreciate all the info you gave us. i am currently collecting all the documents to expeditite the process
Thanks for the video sir! I'd really appreciate it if you could do a video explaining how realistic it is for a civilian who has a PPL to become a pilot with the AFR. Is it common? Is it possible to hold a full time civilian job and fly on weekends?
Hi mr Anthony. I just turned 34. I have a commercial pilot license and wanted to join Air Force but there’s very little information to do so. Please guide me how I can achieve that.
I've been working on losing weight for the last 3 months and I'm almost within the qualifying range. However, I'm someone who already goes to the gym and tries to take care of his body. So my concern is that by losing these last few pounds, I will also be sacrificing my strength and fitness. Is there another way to meet the physical requirements without getting completely under the weight limit?
My husband is thinking about joining. We have 5 children. Would that be a problem? Also where are you located? We currently live in Savannah Ga. Would he be able to serve in Savannah or Georgia? After Basic Training.
I’m trying to get into the Air Force reserve but the recruiter assigned to me doesn’t return my calls, text, and isnt available. I literally had to start the process with the national guards just to get the ASVAB test. Kinda sucks but hopefully I’ll get in soon
How do I go about if there is only one job in particular that I want to pursue in tech school? Can I wait to enlist and start BMT until I know that the job is available for me? Also, do you get to go straight home to a "civilian" life right after you graduate tech school?
How are you doing; I was curious when a person was in the Air Force active duty 12 years ago and got out during basic with a 2C Recode uncharacterized (JFY) would they be eligible for a waiver to come into the reserve?
Can AF reservist do UTA drill at an Air Guard base? Looking to enlist reserve in Puerto Rico. But there's an army base and a Air National guard base. No air force bases... any help?
My altimate goal is gettig commissioned in the Air Force. I am a prior enlist from the Navy. Could being in the AF reserves when submitting the OTS package help?
Could you possibly do a video on transfering process from another branch to the AF Reserves? I heard prior service doesnt go to boot camp so how do I get uniforms etc?
If I join in high school for split ops in my junior year leaning to high school after basic training in my senior year can I ask for more than 1 weekend a month ??
What happens if you sign a 4 year contract in the reserves but after let's say 2 years you get a new job and the reserves starts to interfere in your life more than you anticipated? Can you request IRR for your remaining time?
Reserve contracts in the Air Force are 6 years long. And your job is protected when serving. So employers cannot let you go if your military life overlaps with your civilian life.
@@latrellsutton9814 I understand. But I’m asking if I myself, would like to go in the IRR if the Reserves potentially interferes in my life more than I expected it to. This is just a hypothetical to help myself make an educated decision.
Hi As a reservist in the Airforce (a weekend per month & 2 weeks in the summer, does one get SCRA benefits like Amex Platinum credit card annual fee waiver? And do I get to choose which one weekend in a month and two weeks in the summer since I will have a civilian career? Thank you!
here's a question if u see this: what is the time in service requirement to crosstrain for prior-army e5? in other words, i chose a certain cyber job requiring ts clearance, i submitted the paperwork but was told my gaining commander wouldnt approve an interim so my recruiter told me another choose another cyber job until the ts clearance comes back and then i can 'apply' to go into that other cyber job. my recruiter is very vague and ambiguous with his answers
@@chrisflynn6036 thanks for the reply. my situation is definitely requires a longer explanation. my recruiter didn't know what he was talking about. to fill in the gaps, i was out of the army for about 11 months. the recruiter said after 12 months, my ets medical exam wouldn't count which meant i'd have to go to meps, which i didn't want to do; that's true. i have a secret clearance now. i wanted a cyber job with a ts. my gaining unit commander didn't want to grant me an interim. my recruiter said enlist as another cyber job which only required secret, and start the ts investigation for the cyber job that i wanted, which i did. once the investigation was complete and i was granted the full ts clearance, i could 'put in paperwork' to crosstrain. the new unit e8 told me unless my spot im filling is a ts, i wouldn't be granted a ts clearance. the career counselor said i have to have 3 years retainability to cross train. my recruiter definitely was ignorant but it is what it is. if u read this entire spiel, you are a champion.

Im looking to join the air force reserve and i have been wondering about something so here is my question, Is tech school still required after basic training for the AF reserve?
After tech school during upgrade training, which I assume is done on active duty status, where would I be living? I plan on living beyond commuter distance in order to live in the area my full time career will be. Will I be placed in on base lodging during UGT? I also have a family.
Generally, you have to live in the commuting distance during upgrade/progressive training. You would be required to live on base or nearby contracted lodging.

What's the qualifying weight?
Thank you for this information. I just had one question. How likely would one be deployed in the Air Force reserve ?
If I choose IMA, am I protected from getting fired from my civilian job if they don’t want me leaving any month of the year?
What about for officers?
I am one year out of college and have just started a 9-5 career, would I be able to join the Air Force reserve and still maintain my current career?
Yes you can join the reserves and maintain your career
Yes, you’re protected under USERRA for up to 5 years of service iirc in the Air Force
How can I be eligible for officer reservist ?
What about adhd or add or anxiety
Will that disqualify me.
