Just purchased this coupe in the touring trim 2 weeks ago. Very nice car. It turns heads wherever I go. If anyone is on the fence about this car, I would highly recommend it. At least test drive one.
Do you think it's worth the extra $5000 to get the touring v6 trim or is the normal touring trim good. I'm not a driver who likes to drive fast ( probably go as high as 130 km on Highway but that's about as high I would go). I'm looking into getting this but I'm not to sure whether to wait a few months so I can afford the v6 trim or if I should just get the normal touring trim.
I have the manual, and this is by far the most enjoyable, affordable coupe I've had since the prelude. It's a great car with legit highway performance.
I'm ecstatic with my 2017 EX-L. Yes a head turner with moon-roof. adore the dual screens without the volume knob. Glorious car! This car has to be driven by large windows of buildings at night- that's how glorious it looks!
since the NSX has been around, I strongly believe the Accord has secretly become the budget NSX. Both have punchy V6s along with a few other cars resembling the NSX with V6s like the Acura TL/TSX. But the Accord especially when the 6th gen coupe arrived having that almost wedge body shape despite being FF and tail lights distinctly similar to that of the 90s NSX. Even the newest Accord shares a similar tail light design to the newest NSX. What's more is that people who've driven the NSX, both old and new have compared it to an Accord, not a Civic.
That J35 V6 will rip the rubber off the front tires. It's an absolute beast of a motor. It's a shame Honda stopped putting the V6 in the Accord. Such a fun car.

When I put my foot down there was tons of wheelspin at the front.

I added a cold air intake and you can get a full exhaust and flash ecu program that a tuner can tune with all of the modifications. The Mustang and Camaro were never meant to hold four adults as the back seat was there to appease the Insurance industry. They also are a heck of a lot more engaging and fun to drive!
Dan, the US brands abandoned this segment eons ago, remember when those GM midsize RWD coupes ruled the US market? When they went away, tjhe pickup truck took its place.
This caused the sale of pickups to take off and in turn forced the OEM's to make them nicer and more user friendly and drive more like cars than ever before. I have written this in many automotive forums and many have called me dumb and don't know what the hell I'm saying, but I stick to that theory and will not change my mind. The death of the large rear drive American coupe, gave birth to the "civilized" pickup truck
It really...really...blows that you can't get LED headlights on the 4 cylinder. I want the gas mileage of the 4 cylinder but with the LED headlights. I get 30 mpg in my car now and I'd hate to regret buying a V6 and losing almost 8 MPG. LED headlights and 22 MPG, or projector headlights and 28-32 MPG average? I hate this decision.
Looks like a reasonably priced coupe yet the review is a bit uninspiring? Maybe point the camera at the steering wheel if you're explaining the different control buttons on it. Nice guy doing the review.
The Accord Touring model is a V6 and has a Sport Mode and paddle shifters. Don’t believe that the EX-L V6 does. The EX-L which is a 4 cylinder car has a CVT option with paddle shifters and sport mode. The 0-60 time that he quoted looks like it is for the 4 cylinder motor not the V6. That MSRP looks like it is for the EX-L 4 cylinder not the EX-L V6.
I was told incorrectly by the dealer. The EX-L V6 DOES have the paddles and the sport mode. I am headed back to the showroom. The deals are too good to pass up. It looks like the EX-L V6 AT can be had for 29k out the door including tax, tags, fees, etc. Heck of a buy for that money.
It would be nice if Honda, kept up the turbo trend like in the Civic.Maybe something with a 1.6L Turbo for the Accord, giving more power than the I-4 and less than the V6. That would bring the car maybe 200HP, but with equal torque in the 240-250 range. CVT would be OK as long as it has sport mode. MPG wold increase considerably, especially in the HWY.
I need facts from some Accord owners. I'm torn between the Accord I4 or the V6. I really want the V6 but I don't want to sacrifice gas mileage just for power. I want the V6 because of the LED Headlights. I currently drive a 99 Toyota Camry and my gas mileage estimates are 23/29. (I get really good gas mileage, in my opinion, and from my experience. My car is a 4 cylinder.) I realized if I get the Accord V6 I would still get better gas mileage than my current car, since the Accord V6 advertises 21/32, and sometimes 21/34. The only problem is, a friend of mine drives an accord 4 cylinder and she said she's actually getting Accord V6 mileage. She's averaging low 20s in the city and high 20s/low 30s on the highway. I'm sure this is because of how she drives and other conditions. I realize that if this is true and I buy a V6, there's a huge chance I will get even worse gas mileage. I don't want to buy the V6 and regret it. So, what mileage is everyone actually getting with their 4 cylinder Accords or V6 Accords?
Evan Doucet I am an owner of a previous generation Accord Coupe EX-L V6. So I'm not familiar with the gas mileage on the current generation V6. I'm taking strictly about drive quality. Regardless of gas mileage, you will ultimately enjoy the acceleration and highway cruise speed of the 6 over the 4. When you punch it on the highway, it will just go and you won't hear the engine scream like 4cyls do. If you drive sensibly, you'll get 450 per tank hwy. Enjoy what ever choice you make...
AlphaLab Testing-Center 450 to a tank sounds great to me! I get about 450 in my current car, but it's a 4 cylinder Camry with an 18.5 gallon gas tank. So what that means to me is I can get a V6 and enjoy the ride and acceleration and not sacrifice gas mileage!!
I have a 2020 Type R I would definitely buy this car, but I can’t pay for two cars. Especially both using premium gas because it’s a V6 and the Type R is a turbo. Lol. It’s fine, I’ll find an accord coupe with the inline 4. Won’t be as fast, but it’ll be fun!
I was trying to decide between the Genesis and the Accord, and I chose the Accord specifically for the FWD. It snows too often in NY to get a RWD daily car. For me anyway.
michael aiello nope! Android Auto/Apple Car Play, different rims, LED fogs and taillights, auto dimming rear view mirror, front and back bumpers updated. Also lane watch was included in 13-15 model years. Had a 13 and have a 16 now. 😁

Lame you didn't review the manual version. That's the whole point of the coupe version :p
Darksyne yeahhh, was hoping for that too...
Darksyne I have a 15 coupe v6 with automatic transmission.. It doesn't disappoint.. Especially with the mods I have done
Darksyne it’s hard to find
m turley how is it ? Is faster than Manuel
Beautiful car, but doesn’t this have the oil consumption problem?
I haven't noticed oil consumption in my 2017 V6 Accord Coupe with 125,000 miles.
In Canada the Touring V6 was available with a 6 speed manual too
great review!
Dan, the US brands abandoned this segment eons ago, remember when those GM midsize RWD coupes ruled the US market? When they went away, tjhe pickup truck took its place.
There were so many great American coupes back in the day. People stopped buying them, sadly.
Dan, they could not buy them cause they stopped making them when the FWD craze hit the US market
pedro fernandez It's one of those chicken or the egg situations. Great topic for conversation, for sure. I might just have to chase this story … =)
+pedro fernandez I'll buy that it was a contributing factor. There's more profit in pickup, or so I've heard.
Go for it !
Man I wanted one of these ! But the dealer didn’t have any ... so I settled for a 2016 exlv6 sedan...
How is the sheet metal does it dent easily? does it drive like an Acura?
I miss the accord coupe...
Also the V6 Touring and EX-L V6 AT have cylinder deactivation. The V6 MT does not.
What about the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ? Or the Challenger?
Yuck dodge 🤢
My parents got me this car today for my 16th birthday
How to make /happy late birthday
+DAG Squad thanks
How to make happy belated birthday
Damn bruh are you white or rich? My parents gave me $150 for my car nigga 😂😂
Ant Keene Yeah, sure they did.
I like how these usually cost under $8,000 for a 2008-09 model atleast
With high milage.
I'm seeing MSRP of $31,275 which is much higher than stated at the end of the video. Where are we getting this number?
Your right Chris....the $28,995 price is for the 2.4 liter
Bought my V-6 for 30,000 OTD, tax, shipping, and financing a year ago today.
The V6 did well on the highway with cylinder deactivation, but I reckon that we'll see a turbo four in the Accord before long …
I love how people drool online for these cars, but run out and buy SUVs. Car companies make what you buy!
I'm getting the 2017 EX-L v6 with navi and sensing 😎
Evan Doucet V6 Auto. It's smooth as glass. Don't even think twice about the I4.
AlphaLab Testing-Center how many miles are you getting to a tank in the V6?? that's really what's making me second guess the V6...the gas mileage
Evan Doucet get the V6. Feels like your driving a Lexus.
Would this be a good first car?
Sohaib Qasim go with the 4 door sedan not 2 if its your first.
DAG Squad why do you think i should get the sedan?
Sohaib Qasim it has less twark if I spelled that right so its a little bit smoother and its more roomy so more confertible to drive.
DAG squad thanks for the advice, btw it's spelled "torque"
Sohaib Qasim /lol thanks
I have a 2020 Type R I would definitely buy this car, but I can’t pay for two cars. Especially both using premium gas because it’s a V6 and the Type R is a turbo. Lol. It’s fine, I’ll find an accord coupe with the inline 4. Won’t be as fast, but it’ll be fun!
The Accord doesn’t require premium gas.
,wow u lost a lot of weight keep up the great work😃
Im not sure I would call 30k "affordable"
it's below the average price of a new car in the US, which is about 33k for 2016.
oldtwins That doesnt make it affordable.
broke
Lmao ur poor
Daniel Montanna No actually I am very blessed.
Is a V6 w/ 6 speed MT offered with the Sedan ?
Good question. I would like a 4 door as you outlined.
Isn't a direct competitor of this the Genesis? and I'm not sure why you would go for this instead of that
I was trying to decide between the Genesis and the Accord, and I chose the Accord specifically for the FWD. It snows too often in NY to get a RWD daily car. For me anyway.
Well, one is a Hundai, and the other is a Honda. There's that. The other is that some may prefer the looks of the Accord over the Genesis.
I want this car!
Where are you locate? I live in Watertown New York
Nissan 370z is also a coupe option or 350z
The MX-5, Fr-s/BRZ and yes the WRX is just the better choice for having fun but hey! They arent really that many...
I've noticed you mention all the higher end German cars except Mercedes Benz... Do I sense hate?
Not at all!
Why not 6 speed version for this video? "Props to Honda for keeping manuals"
I just got beat by one
He said it only had intake and exaust he was v6 Manual
I'm a 2014 v6 dead stock mustang
You have "No business" racing anyone, with a V6 Mustang!!!
@@mnoell35 LMAOOO
Good video prro
great video mr.Mpgomatic I don't like the rear end of the accord coupe reminds me of a old generation
it's to long of a coupe for me otherwise
DUH
Black-on-black fully loaded
Carmella Clemmons just bought my 2016 touring coupe, black on black off lease for $17.5k
This is almost identical to my 2013 accord coupe
The only thing that's different is the lane watch
michael aiello nope! Android Auto/Apple Car Play, different rims, LED fogs and taillights, auto dimming rear view mirror, front and back bumpers updated. Also lane watch was included in 13-15 model years. Had a 13 and have a 16 now. 😁
Is this vehicle ok for a 6 foot 6 person?
No
I would like to put those 18" wheels and tires on my EX-L sedan.
First thing comes to mind when someone says coupe is 350z or a porsche
These are going to shoot up in Value when used if well taken care of... or at least hold their value anyways.. Especially the V6 coupes..
I just bought one for $5200 with only 123000 miles on it they are definitely not holding their value.
Yo that's MPGomatic!
