Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS) is a Group A civil service of the Government of India. The IAAS is a central government service, under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and is free of control from any executive authority. The main responsibility of the IAAS is to audit the accounts of the Union and State governments and public sector organisations and to maintain the accounts for State governments. IA&AS is responsible for auditing the accounts of the Union and State governments and public sector organizations, and for maintaining the accounts of State governments. Its role is somewhat similar to the US GAO and National Audit Office (United Kingdom). Once recruited to the IA&AS, the directly recruited officers are trained mainly at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India.

It is undoubtedly true that IA&AS is one of best services in the Indian Republic. Many who are already in Government services are not even aware of the existence of this service. You have nicely presented the snap shop view of the importance and the role and the exposures /opportunities available for officers of IA&AS and the expertise of officers in IA&AD in general. If u do not want such exposure to public and want to actually know about every government deptt by auditing them within his scope( note IA&AS has more deptt reach than an IAS ) since he audits various deptt aur MABs
Also gud for corporate people who opted for save service in terms of money and respect...

I think because he didn't want to be an IAAS officer, he is guiding so that people who are interested to take up this service but are hesitant just because of the public image that has been created for IAS, no doubt it is a remarkable service but IAAS is a great platform who possess such skills or interest, it is an important channel in nation building.
