IA&AS is much much better than IRS in terms of work-life balance, freedom & satisfaction of work, work load management, promotions, foreign attachments, reputation within the bureaucracy.... After IFS this service is my second preference

mujhe aisa nhi lgta even IAAS and IDES is more better than IAS IPS if you want work life balance and peace.And if you are in IAAS then you work under the shadow of constitutional authority CAG means zero political interference and you can directly interact with joint secrstery and chief secretery in your initial stage...
