She died 2 yrs later. I choose to remember the joy her music brought to my life. She had a light inside & was special. She was also sadly flawed because she was human after all. But her talent & presence cannot be denied. I’m fortunate to have grown up in the 80s with her music. That’s what I’ll always remember. Thanks Whitney. ❤️
Don’t care what anyone says about Whitney. She was legendary. Even during her worst performances of this comeback tour she was still very much the diva in my eyes. I remember her back in her prime, she was simply the best--hands down!
Whitney had her not so good days during this tour, but this is definitely one of the great ones! She gave her heart and soul and truly sang from her heart. RIP Whitney Elizabeth Houston.
Imagine Whitney singing the "I Look To You" album in her 20's or early 30's. Oh my goodness, it would've been sooo perfect 🥰. Imagine having a computer that is able to use Whitney's Voice and sing like she would've sung it now that she is no longer with us, using A.I. technology etc. God, I Miss Whitney, man! You are very deeply Missed Miss W. E. Houston! The Best Singer I have ever witnessed ❤. It breaks my heart she didn't take care of herself, all that pain she went through, Jesus! Rest in Peace 🙏 🕊
I love Whitney am listening to Whitney singing about her love for God called I will hastened to his throne I cried my eyes out for her am thinking about all she went through in life.
i do not care what anyone says. Whitney is the best vocalist and rifter (if that word even exist) of all time. Even at her worst she's head and shoulders above everyone else.
I respect her efforts. However I think this tour ultimately destroyed her because the reviews were so negative. Regardless of how she sounded in her later years, Whitney's voice is a national treasure and the music she gave the world is timeless. I am tired of documentaries about her struggles I want us to hear about the treasures she gave this world that no one can duplicate .
idc what anyone says, she sounded good for most of these performances, she didn’t sound like her old self but no one ever does after 20 years, she did her best and was nothing but the best, i would love to see all the haters who hated on her during this era to stand up on stage and sing.
Oh my lord, Her voice!!! It sounds amazing as always! - if only she didnt get sick half way through! This is how I want to remember her last hurrah to the world nippy 🥰❤️
On that cd (her very last), this is the cut. That cd was one of her best since her first one. Even though her voice wasn’t as fresh as when she first stepped on the scene, she still sounded good. She was just singing in a much lower register.
The lower register is all that she had left. Whitney destroyed her upper range and because she was an undisciplined singer, she refused to do the work to get it back. Aretha Franklin was 76 and battling Pancreatic cancer had more pipes left than Whitney. However I applaud Whitney for her galiant effort. However I think the negative reviews from this tour sent her back to drugs and ultimately led to her death. .
@@kevinharris3993 Smoking is never good for a voice. I think she pushed her instrument a lot, which can cause problems even if you don't smoke. I don't think she was capable of doing the work, though. Addiction and discipline are antithetical to each other. Of course, smoking is an addiction. Listening to her sing "Saving all my love for you" is such a poignant thing, comparing that fresh young voice--and person--to the battle-scarred survivor singing here summarizes her whole trajectory. She went for it, definitely. Glad I listened to the rest of this, not just the excerpt of her attempting "I Will Always Love You." That she could hit the high note at the end of "Saving all my love" even once is a testimony to her dedication to performing. I wonder if she experienced her voice the way listeners do? Did she listen and feel sad about the way her voice was tarnished? Or just revel in what she had left, and the spirit of sharing she maintained? Almost all singers lose the glow to their voices--all physical things deteriorate, no matter how hard we try to maintain them. In your 40's could and should be your prime, if you manage things well. Maybe she focused on what she still had left to give. I love all great singing, and have collaborated for years with classical singers (as a pianist). Jessye Norman took great care of her voice, by all reports, but towards the end, she was singing in the basement, too, doing music that surprised her fans--very rootsy, gospel-tinged, music that went back to the place she was born, but certainly showed no signs of the round, operatic tones she is famous for. That said, she wasn't in her 40's. Anyway, I pray Whitney, Michael, Prince, and the list goes on and on are singing together in heaven, effortlessly and as gloriously as their very best moments here on earth. And that Bobbi Kristina is telling her mom how proud she is of her.
Minha lady, minha woman, O love you forever. I LOVE YOU FOREVER.
Whitney did not want to do this last tour....she was already soooo tired, and her voice was damaged. She had been struggling with that, and fighting to stay clean. But apparently she needed the $$$. She had unfortunately fallen into some debt and needed to take care of business with her record company. But coming off this tour, she knew in her heart it was over, for her singing career...and although she was talked into coming to Clive's party at the Beverly Hilton in 02/2012, she really did not want to be there, and did not want to risk embarrassing herself singing for all those other celebs in attendance! The embarrassment & humiliation had become overbearing & exhausting for her. Whitney was a proud woman who was very confident in her craft....it hurt her heart & soul to lose that, after all the years of greatness! I honestly believe she was ready to be done with everything & everybody! Not only was her vocals destroyed, but her lungs & heart damage....from yrs of cig smoking & cocaine abuse....a lot on the heart! She could feel her body struggling to carry on, and she didn't want to fight that battle while living everyday with the truth about her vocals....& all the criticism around her. Her life, marriage, & addiction had been tabloid fader for yrs on top yrs. Even that had taken it's toll on her, drained her.....& ultimately helped damage her heart! Although I will always believe that there was something fishy about the alledged circumstances surrounding her death.....and people were involved, I believe Whitney had already been previously self-medicating! It was alledged that Valium, Flexeril, & benadryl were all found in her system at the time of her death. Those things with a mix of alcohol is a deadly combo. Whitney knew that! Y'all put two & two together! When a person wants it to be over...with no pain or suffering.....😪💔
So sad to hear such a monotone when she had 5 different registers at one time . I applaud her tenacity to keep going…i could hear her wheezing and croaky voice I wish she would’ve rested more and got clean . Now that would be a comeback!!! The damage was done already so sad
Well.....regular people have to report to work and responsibilities.....🤷🏾♂️ What was Arista supposed to do, wait 50 years for her to get totally clean? Its called SHOW business, not I feel peachy keen to show up to work today when all the conditions are 70 degrees and sunny. I have to go to work 5 days a week no matter WHAT is going on in my life.
@@tysonb3568 I think entertainers have it a little better than the average joe . they can live off the money they made for years and years if they play their cards right . whitney did this tour and album only because she ran out of money after supporting so many people over the years.
So sorry to see her on stage without the same energy she had in her period of glory. She's visibly coming out from a rehab period, but she still needed to relax and take care of her health. We all miss her but she'll alws be unforgettable❤️
