Caltrain Peninsula Corridor Railfanning: Final Day of Diesel Operations

Friday, September 20th, 2024 was a very bittersweet day on the Caltrain Peninsula Corridor. Not only was it the last day of diesel trains operating on the Peninsula, but we also reached the end of a remarkable era for the F40PH/Gallery Car Fleet as they would be set to retire once the EMU's fully enter service the next day minus the rebuilt F40PH-2C's (920-922).
So, on this day, I ventured across the Peninsula Corridor from the Bayshore Station as well as the 2nd tunnel north of the Bayshore Station all the way to San Jose Diridon Station with stops at San Bruno, Broadway, Hayward Park, Lawrence, Santa Clara along the way to get our final shots of the diesel trains operating on the Peninsula Corridor as well as some catches of the EMU's and a bonus catch of the South City Switcher!

Do you happen to know when the f40s and gallery cars are slated to leave caltrain's property? I'd like to film them as union pacific takes them away.

To bad that f 40’s are retiring the MBTA is rebuilding there f 40’s there’s a video of f 40 # 1067 being tested on UA-cam F 40 # 900, # 901 # 902 # 921 needs to stay # 900 back to its original colors from the 1980 when it was new # 901 and # 902 to SP colors # 901 to be painted the black widow colors like SP GP 9 # 5623 # 902 painted to SP Gray # 921 repainted to Caltrain colors
