Jammu Tawi Railway Station is undergoing a comprehensive modernisation to enhance passenger experience, safety, and operational efficiency. Northern Railway, in a press statement on Saturday, revealed that the upgraded station will be better equipped to handle train operations for the Jammu & Kashmir valley. The remodelled Jammu Tawi yard is slated for commissioning by March 6, 2025, according to Northern Railway. Yard remodelling work, a significant component of the modernisation project, is nearing completion, with non-interlocking work also set to finish soon.

Yes, you are right, it could also have been thought earlier. But, beuty of this govt is, inke liye jahan raat khule wahin saver, means as soon as it realises it initiate corrective actions instead of keep that pending. So, yes it could have been done earlier but better late than never.
